Recently installed Godot. Now Xcode will not preview .scn files. I can't change the type back to SceneKit as it isn't available in the dropdown list.
try this:
Open finder and locate any file with the .scn extension.
Click on Get Info
Navigate to the session Open with:
Select Xcode from the list and click in change all
Hope it helps.
You can also right-click on the .scn file in Xcode's Project navigator and select Open As → SceneKit Document
Other answers did not work for me. However #tjgrant's comment worked.
I had to uninstall Godot from mac. And remove it from Trash as well. I know this is not ideal solution, but for those who are not working on SceneKit files and Godot simultaneously this is the easiest solution.
I plan to install Godot later when I am done with SceneKit work.

IDK what changed but suddenly, everytime I download an ics file my Apple Calendar opens and imports the file. I don't want it to do this but can't figure out what setting to change.
I'm running Yosemite.
I'm running High Sierra, though I don't recall the option having changed where it can be found.
I'm going to assume that you're using Safari web browser, because that's where the setting is that allows MacOS to automatically open certain file types once they've been downloaded by Safari.
Open Safari preferences by going to the Safari menu item and clicking Preferences..., or by pressing ⌘, (that's a comma) from within a Safari window.
If it's not already displayed as the initial pane, click on General in the toolbar of the preferences dialog, and you'll see something like this:
At the bottom, there's a checkbox that you can uncheck. Bear in mind that, doing so, will also stop other files you download from opening automatically. So, for example, if you're used to .zip archives being extracted automatically for you, you'll now have to do this manually by double-clicking the .zip file (not too hard).
If this solves your issue, consider selecting this answer so it marks the question as being resolved and helps other forum users. If you have any further problems, however, leave a comment and I'll get back to you.

I have a dummy question because I nothing understand in OSX.
I use Visual Studio for Windows and build Xamarin iOS app. Visual Studio uses Mac as build server. After the build process I need to upload *.ipa file to iTunesConnect through ApplicationLoader on OSX. And I encountered a problem, I cannot find my file from ApplicationLoader.
I found that file is placed in 'Untitled/Users/alexey/Library/...etc'. But I haven't see Library folder. What does it mean?
In macOS the Library folder of the user domain is hidden by default.
To show it temporarily
In Finder open the Go menu and press the ⌥(option)-key. Choose the Library menu item.
In Finder press ⇧⌘G, type ~/Library and press return
To show it permanently
Select your home folder, press ⌘J to show the View Options and check the checkbox at the bottom.

been working with xcode for about week. working with a project from github with images already added. i want to change the design of those images, so
ive been opening in finder, open with photoshop, change the design, save as then the photo shows up in xcode in its correct place, however the image does not show up in simulator.
can you please go through the proper process of saving images for xcode?
1.Well photoshop the picture (obviously)
2.Go to "file" and then go to "save as"
3.When you are there save the image as a "png" (you select to change it to png next to where it says "format")
4.Then drag that png file into the "supporting file" in your xcode project.
5.From there you go to the "imageview" and select the "png" file
I hope this helps.

I am trying to find the location of my iPhone simulator documents. But when I click on /Users/UserA I don't see Library in there. How do I turn that on?
It hasn't been visible since Lion, I believe. You can set it to unhidden using the chflags command (from Terminal.app):
$ chflags nohidden ~/Library
In Mavericks, you can navigate to your home folder (e.g. /Users/UserA) in the Finder and choose the View > Show View Options menu item, or type ⌘J. In the view options panel, there’s a checkbox called Show Library Folder.

I have recently got the Samsung series 7 ultra laptop and found a lot of bulkware with the pre-installed windows 8 so I did a fresh install of Windows 8. It went through successfully but I noticed my folder like Documents, Music, Pictures etc. now have "Configuration settings (.ini)" type files named: "desktop".
(desktop file from Document folder).
When open with notepad, I get something like:
[.ShellClassInfo]
LocalizedResourceName=#%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21770
IconResource=%SystemRoot%\system32\imageres.dll,-112
IconFile=%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll
IconIndex=-235
What are these for and is it safe to delete?
This .ini file stores customizations that you've set for that particular folder, such as icon size, layout, etc.
If you haven't set any customizations these should just be the default settings. You can delete them if you want, but they'll probably just come back. They also should only show up if you have the 'show hidden files and folders' option selected under 'folder options.' That's because Microsoft doesn't think you need to worry about it, which in terms of this particular file is probably true. The files sizes are negligible and deleting them will only reset any customizations you may have set.
Hope this helps!
