JPQL Insert by selecting query not working - spring

I have two below entity. One is MatchTable another is MatchLog.
#Entity
public class MatchTable {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
#Column(name = "id", updatable = false, nullable = false)
private Long id;
#ManyToOne
private Integer primaryID;
#ManyToOne
private Integer suspectedID;
#Column(nullable=false)
private Integer status;
//getter and setter
}
#Entity
public class MatchLog {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
#Column(name = "id", updatable = false, nullable = false)
private Long id;
#OneToOne
private MatchTable referenceID;
#Column(nullable=false)
private Long primaryID;
#Column(nullable=false)
private Long suspectedID;
#Column(nullable=false)
private Integer status;
//getter and setter
}
If status of MatchTable change,these row will be inserted into MatchLog. I have tried with the below JPQL query.
#Query("INSERT INTO MatchLog (referenceID.id,primaryID,suspectedID,status) SELECT id,primaryID,suspectedID,status from MatchTable where (primaryID = :ID or suspectedID = :ID)")
int updateMatchLogTable(#Param("ID") long ID);
But this JPQL query is not working. Please suggest me what will be the JPQL query to insert change rows from MatchTable to MatchLog.

Unless I'm mistaken, JPA does not support "insert into select". You can change as native query.

Trying to Convert a SQL Query to a JPA Query

I want to convert this sql query to a JPA query, but I can't seem make sense of it... Should I use findByMarinaIdAndMovementGroupMeanId?? or findByMarinaIdAndMovementGroupMeanIdAndMovementMeanId??
Sql:
select m.* from movement_group m
join movement_group_mean mgm on m.id = mgm.movement_group_id
join movement_mean mm on mgm.movement_mean_id = mm.id
where mm.id = 1 and m.marina_id = :marinaId and mm.active = true;
MovementGroup:
#Entity
public class MovementGroup {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
private Long id;
private String name;
private String code;
private LocalDateTime createdAt;
private LocalDateTime updatedAt;
private Boolean active;
private String iconUrl;
#OneToMany(mappedBy = "movementGroup")
private Set<MovementGroupMean> movementGroupMeans;
#JsonIgnore
#ManyToOne()
#JoinColumn(name = "marina_id")
private Marina marina;
MovementGroupMean:
#Entity
public class MovementGroupMean {
#EmbeddedId
#JsonIgnore
private MovementGroupMeanPK movementGroupMeanPK;
#JsonBackReference
#ManyToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "movement_group_id", insertable = false, updatable = false)
private MovementGroup movementGroup;
#ManyToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "movement_mean_id", insertable = false, updatable = false)
private MovementMean movementMean;
MovementMean:
#Entity
public class MovementMean {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
private Long id;
private String name;
#Enumerated(EnumType.STRING)
private MovementMeanType movementMeanType;
private Boolean active;
private LocalDateTime createdAt;
private LocalDateTime updatedAt;
#JsonBackReference
#ManyToOne()
#JoinColumn(name = "marina_id")
private Marina marina;
Not sure where the problem lies, so excuse the lengthy explanation on SQL->JPQL:
Replace your table names with your entity names
movement_group -> MovementGroup
Replace your joins with the java references, letting JPA use the relationship mapping you've defined instead.
"join movement_group_mean mgm on m.id = mgm.movement_group_id" becomes "join m.movementGroupMeans mgm"
"join movement_mean mm on mgm.movement_mean_id = mm.id becomes "join mgm.movementMean mm"
Only tricky spot is your entities do not define a basic mapping for the marina_id value. So to get at m.marina_id, you will have to use the 'marina' reference and use its presumably ID value:
"m.marina_id = :marinaId" -> "m.marina.id = :marinaId"
Giving you JPQL:
"Select m from MovementGroup m join m.movementGroupMeans mgm join mgm.movementMean mm where mm.id = 1 and m.marina.id = :marinaId and mm.active = true"

SQL Joining tables Using Spring JPA

I have some trouble with joining tables using Spring Boot JPA
I need to do this kind of joining:
**book2user — book to user
id INT NOT NULL AUTO_INCREMENT
time DATETIME NOT NULL
type_id INT NOT NULL
book_id INT NOT NULL
user_id INT NOT NULL**
Here are my Entity classes:
#Entity
#Table(name = "user")
public class User {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
private Integer id;
private String hash;
private Date reg_time;
private Integer balance = 0;
private String name;
// getters and setters
public class Book {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
private Integer id;
#ManyToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "author_id", referencedColumnName = "id")
private Author author;
#ManyToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "genre_id", referencedColumnName = "id")
private Genre genre;
private String title;
private String slug;
private String description;
private String priceOld;
private String price;
private String image;
private boolean is_bestseller;
private Date pub_date;
// getters and setters
In order to do this kind of joining I should create another entity class ??
Something like this should work:
#Entity
#Table("book2user")
public class Book2User {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
private Integer id;
private LocalDateTime time;
private Integer typeId;
#OneToOne
private Book book;
#OneToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "user_id") //optional, if the name of the table and field matches.
private User user;
}

Join Two Tables without foreign keys in Spring Boot with similar Ids

Here I have two tables; both have IDs as primary keys. I want to know how to join these tables without foreign keys, based on their IDs. What should be the service implementation and what should be in the repository? How to write #Query with JOINS?
#Entity
#Table(name = "procedures")
#JsonIgnoreProperties({ "hibernateLazyInitializer", "handler" })
public class Procedure implements Serializable {
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
#Column(name = "ProcedureId")
private int id;
#Column(name = "ProcedureName")
private String name;
#Column(name = "ProcedureCode")
private String code;
#Column(name = "ProcedureDesc")
private String desc;
// getters and setters
}
#Entity
#Table(name = "cliniciandescriptor")
public class CPTClinicianDescriptor {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
#Column(name = "Id")
private int id;
#Column(name = "ConceptId")
private int conceptId;
#Column(name = "CPTCode")
private String cptCode;
#Column(name = "ClinicianDescriptorId")
private int clinicianDescriptorId;
#Column(name = "ClinicianDescriptor")
private String clinicianDescriptor;
// getters and setters
}
You can use the JOIN on syntax like in SQL
For example
select p from Procedure p join CPTClinicianDescriptor c on c.id = p.id;
Read more about that topic here:
https://72.services/how-to-join-two-entities-without-mapped-relationship/
Considering it as One-to-One relation, you can use something like this.
#Entity
#Table(name = "procedures")
#JsonIgnoreProperties({ "hibernateLazyInitializer", "handler" })
public class Procedure implements Serializable {
private static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
#Column(name = "ProcedureId")
private int id;
#Column(name = "ProcedureName")
private String name;
#Column(name = "ProcedureCode")
private String code;
#OneToOne(optional = false)
#JoinColumn(name = "id", updatable = false, insertable = false)
private CPTClinicianDescriptor descriptor;
#Column(name = "ProcedureDesc")
private String desc;
// getters and setters
}

springboot jpa combine two tables

I want to query data from two tables,
location field in Translation is a foreign key from id field of Location
#Entity
#Table(name = "Translation")
#Data
public class Translation {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
private Integer id;
#NotNull private String language;
#NotNull private String name;
#NotNull private String description;
#ManyToOne(fetch = FetchType.LAZY)
#JoinColumn(name = "location", nullable = false, insertable = false, updatable = false)
#Fetch(FetchMode.JOIN)
private Location location;
}
#Entity
#Table(name = "Location")
#Data
public class Location {
#Id
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.IDENTITY)
private Integer id;
#NotNull private String code;
#NotNull private String type;
private Double longitude;
private Double latitude;
#Column(name = "parent_id")
private Integer parentId;
#OneToMany(targetEntity = Translation.class, mappedBy="id", fetch = FetchType.EAGER)
private Set<Translation> translations;
}
————————————————————————————————————————
But when I use a query
#Query(
"SELECT new com.afkl.travel.exercise.model.RetrieveLocationResponse("
+ "loc.code, tran.name, loc.type, loc.latitude, loc.longitude, tran.description, loc.parentId)"
+ "FROM Location loc LEFT JOIN loc.translation tran")
List<RetrieveLocationResponse> fetchLeftJoin();
All the fields related to Translation is null, having no idea what happened
UPDATE
The following ones work for me.
#OneToMany(mappedBy = "location", cascade = CascadeType.ALL)
#JsonIgnore
private Set<Translation> translations;
#ManyToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "location")
private Location location;
try
#OneToMany(mappedBy = "location", cascade = CascadeType.ALL)
#JsonIgnore
private Set<Translation> translations;
#ManyToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "location")
private Location location;

SQL error or missing database / OneToMany SQLIte-Spring Boot

I have a problem with the relationship oneToMany. I created tables in SQLite DB, this is my tables:
My CategoryModel:
#Entity
#Table(name = "Category")
#JsonIgnoreProperties({ "hibernateLazyInitializer", "handler" })
public class CategoryModel {
#Id
#Column(name = "id")
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
private int id;
private String category_name;
private String category_description;
private String image_path;
#JsonIgnore
#OneToMany( mappedBy = "category")
private Set<ProductModel> category;
My ProducCategory:
#Entity
#Table(name = "Product_Category")
#JsonIgnoreProperties({ "hibernateLazyInitializer", "handler" })
public class ProductModel {
#Id
#Column(name = "id")
#GeneratedValue(strategy = GenerationType.AUTO)
private Long product_id;
private Long category_id;
private String name;
private String description;
private int numberOfProduct;
private String image;
private int price;
#ManyToOne
#JoinColumn(name = "country_id", nullable = false)
private CategoryModel category;
I can get data from the Category table well but when I call data from the Product_Category table I have the error:
SQL error or missing database (no such column: productmod0_.country_id)
country_id does not exist anywhere in your tables.
What you want is : #JoinColumn(name = "category_id", nullable = false)
