Websphere Application Server v9.0 supported with which version of Rational Application Developer?

can someone help me, I'm trying to work with Websphere Application Server 9.0 but I need to work on IBM Rational Application Developer IDE for the use of sqlj. I tried to install IBM Rational Application Developer IDE version 8.0 but Websphere Application Server 9.0 is not supported with this IDE. Do I need to install IBM Rational Application Developer 9.0 IDE to work with Websphere Application Server 9.0? Or is there any other IDE that supports Websphere Application Server 9.0 and sqlj scripts both.
According this IBM KnowledgeCenter for IBM Rational Application Developer for WebSphere, it looks like RAD v9.6 is the lowest version to support Websphere Application Server 9.0.

Getting The Application Server installation directory is not correct in RAD 9.0.1

While Adding Websphere Portal 8 Server in RAD 9.0.1 results in "The Application Server installation directory is not correct" error. Can you please let me know how to solve this issue.
Check this link Adding Portal 8 Server in RAD 9.0.1 results in "The Application Server installation directory is not correct" error
Potential causes include:
- You have not selected the WebSphere Portal Server 8.0 on WebSphere Application
Server 8.5 adapter.
Note: You may have mistakenly selected the WebSphere Portal 8.0 Server adapter or
you may not even have the WebSphere Portal Server 8.0 on WebSphere Application
Server 8.5 adapter available to choose from in RAD.
- You are not providing the right installation directory for your Portal or WAS
server. The WAS server you are pointing to which is to be used with Portal 8
is not compatible with Portal.
Note: You must be using a WAS ND server
Ensure you have the WebSphere Portal Server 8.0 on WebSphere Application Server 8.5 adapter and not the WebSphere Portal 8.0 adapter.
If you do not see the correct adapter available:
Close RAD
Open IBM Installation Manager
Click Modify > Select the RAD 9.0.1 package group > Next > Next.
You should now be on the feature selection page.
Under the Server tools section, ensure to have the Development tools and the Remote server stub installed for the Portal version and
WAS version you are looking to install
For example: If you are looking to install Portal 8 with WAS 8.5.x, ensure you have the Development tools and the Remote server stub also installed for the WebSphere Portal Server 8.0 on WebSphere
Application Server 8.5 option
Click Next > Modify

Websphere application server 5.1 installation in RAD 8

I am using WebSphere application server 5.1 in RAD 7.1. Now I want to migrate to RAD 8.0 but RAD 8.0 do not provide support to WebSphere application server 5.X. Please help on this
WebSphere Application Server 5.1 is not supported for many years now and as you saw it is also not supported in any newer RAD. I'd suggest to migrate to newer server version as soon as possible.
If you need to develop for WAS 5.1, then stick with RAD 7. Eventually you can develop with newer RAD, but you will need to install applications to server manually via web console or wsadmin.

Configuring WebSphere Commerce Developer 6.0 to use WebSphere Application Server 6.1

Has anyone successfully configured WebSphere Commerce Developer 6.0 to use WAS 6.1 and RAD 7.0?
I'm working on a site implemented with IBM WebSphere Commerce Developer 6.0. In production the site runs on WebSphere Application Server 6.1, which is officially supported. We'd like to run our local developer environments on WAS 6.1 as well, but the migration instructions cover only stand-alone servers. Commerce Developer is limited to WAS 6.0 according to the documentation below:
http://publib.boulder.ibm.com/infocenter/wchelp/v6r0m0/index.jsp?topic=%2Fcom.ibm.commerce.admin.doc%2Ftasks%2Ftmgwas61.htm
We're hoping to be able to leverage Java 5 support and other features of WAS 6.1 while staying on WebSphere Commerce Developer 6.0. We have some portions of the code developed using Java 5, but currently we have to deploy this code to a stand-alone server to test, which is less than ideal.
Nope.. can't be done. The issue is that the runtime and tooling is all linked together.

Old versions of WebSphere Application Server v7 (Free Trial)

Yesterday, I've downloaded and install the free trial version of WAS v7. The version I've downloaded is 7.0.0.9 but I need to certify my application against 7.0.0.3.
Where can I get this version?
UPDATED: It turns out that what I really needed was WebSphere Application Server for Developpers
It's working!
Now it can be downloaded from HERE
