Greeting All,
I have two questions regarding OMNET++ output results
1- I have a simulation that uses AODV routing protocol in VANET network, but
when I record pcap for this simulation, it's shown as corrupted or damage even when I spill it to multi pcap file. How can I solve that? is the Inet pcap support AODV?
2-Is there a way to write this output (in below pic) to a text file or exported as excel format (I highlighted with red color).
I need all the information (event #, time, Relevant hop, name, info). I can copy it but it takes a time when I have around 10000 events?
Thanks in advance
If I am not wrong, you should be able to record the information you want with the statistics methods provided by OMNeT++. You should refer to cOutVector for real-time data recording. Statistical Collection are well explained in Part. 5 of the OMNeT++ TicToc Tutorial 1.
Once you have recorded your data, you can export them from the Browse Data interface (select the vectors you previously recorded in the browse data tab, right click and select Export Data).

I would just like to know if the value of "RecievedBroadcasts" for each of the node in Veins also consists of the packets lost or does it just give the number of successful packet receptions. That is if I want to calculate the packet loss ratio, then would it be TotalLostPackets/RecievedBroadcasts or TotalLostPackets/(RecievedBroadcasts + TotalLostPackets).
Thanks for your help
Your best bet to find out exactly how statistics are logged is to look into the source code of Mac1609_4.
You will find that the ReceivedBroadcasts scalar logs the value of variable statsReceivedBroadcasts which is increased via a method called from handleLowerMsg, so only when the Mac layer successfully decoded data.
I am trying to insert regular vehicles and platoon vehicles in a specific time step in a scenario by using SUMO and Plexe. I am using Sumo 1.2.0, Veins 5.0, Omnet++ 5.5.1, Plexe-3.0a2 versions. As plexe documentation points i have to change the traffic manager in my .ini file to SumoTrafficManager in order to insert the vehicles and the platoons from the .rou file that i have created. For testing purposes i used the platoon example provided from plexe using the option for Sumo Traffic. The problem is that i am get the sumo error
Error: tcpip::Socket::recvAndCheck # recv: peer shutdown
and omnet exits with code 139. The error occurs only when the first car is inserted.
Note: All the other configuration of the example works perfectly.
Why does this error occurs and how can i resolve this??
I got the answer from the sumo mailing list so i am posting it also here. Currently there is a bug for inserting platoons and regular-human car with the standard SUMO way (.rou file). But there is a way to resolve this issue by letting the insertion of platoon cars to be handled by the TrafficManager module and the regular-human car to be inserted with the SUMO way. To make it work you must use the classic PlatoonsTrafficManager and add the following lines to the .ini file:
*.manager.moduleType = "vtypeauto=org.car2x.plexe.PlatoonCar
vtypehuman=HumanCar"
*.manager.moduleName = "vtypeauto=node vtypehuman=human"
That way you seperate the module types for the simulation to handle it differently. A good example for testing is the Human example that is provided. By modifying the .ini file to pass to the TrafficManager only the platoon related variables and then adding some lines in .rou file (like flows or vehs) for the human cars to be injected you get the desired result.
Is there a way to reset the MeasurementIndex of a CANoe Simulation to 0?
I'm currently working on a myCANoe.cfg simulation that was saved multiple times. I'm creating log files with the structure myCANoe_{MeasurementIndex}.blf and MeasurementIndex = 800 right now. I'd like to tweak the text in myCANoe.cfg to reset it to zero. So far, searching for the string was not effective, nor it was changing the preview text myCANoe_800.blf in myCANoe.cfg. Can we achive this result somehow?
Turns out there is a simple way. Please be sure to have a back-up plan in case the following edits go south. You'll need to manually edit the myCANoe.cfg file, possibly resulting in complete corruption of the simulation. I was able to achieve the result with the following:
Note the current measurement index (e.g. 800)
Delete myCANoe.stcfg compiled file
Open the simulation
Check current measurement index again and close simulation
Delete myCANoe.stcfg again
edit myCANoe.cfg with a text editor
Search for the measurement index value (800). I found two results: one on row 609, one with the format <VFileName V7 QL> 1 "myCANoe_800.blf"
Edit both to 0 and 000, respectively. Save
Open the CANoe configuration, My measurement index was re-set.
I am learing the OMNeT++ With Tictoc Tutorial,however I encounter a problem in the part4.1 "More than two nodes".
According to the tutorial, the tictoc10.ned can generate six simple modules in different locations.But there is just a module vector icon in my ned file even if I completely copy the tictoc10.ned file.
I guess there maybe some properties which I need to set but it doesn't work at all.And I also scrolling through the 'simulation manual' with no result.
simple Txc10
{
parameters:
#display("i=block/routing");
gates:
input in[];
output out[];
}
network Tictoc10
{
submodules:
tic[6]: Txc10; //this line should generate 6 Txc10 modules with
//different positions
//ingnore the connections
}
Thank you for any suggestions.
The NED editor in the IDE displays only the structures present in the NED file. I.e. you will not see several icons in the graphical editor only a single icon that represents the vector. On the other hand, when you actually run the simulation, the correct number of instances from the node will be instantiated and the autolayouter will arrange them.
There are two places to pay attention to.
1.as like the former answer says,the NED editor in the IDE displays only the structures present in the NED file. And you can find the several module icons when you run the simulation.
2.The size of the network in the 'Design' mode of the NED file need to be adjusted according to the quatity of the submodules in this network. In this example,the size of network is so small that submodules overlapp and the connections between can't be found.After I enlarge it the problem is solved.
I am using JMeter and have 2 questions (I have read the FAQ + Wiki etc):
I use the Graph Results listener. It seems to have a fixed span, e.g. 2 hours (just guessing - this is not indicated anywhere AFAIK), after which it wraps around and starts drawing on same canvas from the left again. Hence after a long weekend run it only shows the results of last 2 hours. Can I configure that span or other properties (beyond the check boxes I see on the Graph Results listener itself)?
Can I save the results of a run and later open them? I know I can save the test plan or parts of it. I am unclear if I can save separately just the test results data, and later open them and perform comparisons etc. And furthermore can I open them with different listeners even if they weren't part of original test (i.e. I think of the test as accumulating data, and later on I want to view and interpret the data using different "viewers").
Thanks,

Don't know about 1. Regarding 2: listeners typically have a configuration field for "Write All Data to a File", which lets you specify the file name. You can use the Simple Data Writer to store results efficiently for later analysis.
You can load results from a previous test into a visualizer by choosing "Write All Data to a File" and browsing for the file you wish to load. Somewhat counterintuitively, selecting a file for writing also loads that file into the visualizer and displays the results. Just make sure you don't run the test again while that file is selected, otherwise you will lose your saved test data. :-)
Well, I later found a JMeter group that was discussing the issue raised in my first question, and B.Ramann gave me an excellent suggestion to use instead a better graph found here.
