Adding a background image in a bootstrap based blade template - laravel

I have a laravel application.
I am using bootstrap in the frontend alongwith blade templates.
I want to add a background image to my landing page.
I am trying to style the page by putting a background image to the body. But its not working as in the image is not showing
Below is my code
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

}
</style>
<body>
#include('partials.header')
<div class="container">

</div>
</body>
</html>
In My chrome console i don't see any error of not loading the image.
The code for content section

Best Regards,
Saurav

Given the following folder structure:
`/public/images/gym_background.jpg`
Change this:
<style>
body {
background-image: {{url('/images/gym_background.jpg')}};
}
</style>
To this:
<style>
body {
// Add a . in front to look in the right folder + dropping the double {{ }}
background-image: url('./images/gym_background.jpg');
}
</style>
Here is a good read on relative vs absolute paths for the extra curious.

If you don't see the image and there's no 404 error in the network inspector, then probably your image is hidden under some other element that takes all the screen and has solid (white?) background. Try setting the same CSS on div.container, then it should work.
UPD: Scratch that, the problem is curly braces. It will work if you remove those {{ and }}.

mozilla dev tools bug with bootstrap

I decided to try Bootstrap 4. I have rather a simple HTML file:
<!DOCTYPE html>

But when I hover the latest col-1 element in the developer tools, the horizontal scrollbar appears. Look at the image below.
Firefox bug
Who have any ideas how to wrastle with it?
your code is okay
I tried it in Google chrome, and the horizontal scrollbar doesn't appear
also I download firefox and installed it, then tried what you made, and there is no horizontal scrollbar as well
You may have an error in your firefox, you may download the new version from here;

Vue JS simple v-model functionality on input field not working in Laravel app

I am using vuejs as a drop in for some minor functionality in a Laravel app (i.e. not components) and for some reason that I'm yet to discover v-model is not working.
Here's my base layout blade file that was generated via php artisan make:auth, contents mostly removed as irrelevant:
resources/views/layouts/app.blade.php
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="{{ str_replace('_', '-', app()->getLocale()) }}">
<head>
<!-- css imports etc. -->
</head>
<body>
<div id="app">
<nav class="navbar navbar-expand-md navbar-light navbar-laravel">
<!-- nav menu -->
</nav>
<main class="py-4">
#yield('content')
</main>
</div>
#stack('scripts') <---- Javascript goes here!
</body>
</html>
Here's the file where v-model is being used and not working, again, irrelevant parts have been removed:
resources/views/instructors/create.blade.php
#extends('layouts.app')
#section('content')
<div class="container">
<div class="row justify-content-center">
<div class="col-md-8">
<div class="card">
<div class="card-body">
<div class="card-title">
<h2>vue: #{{ message }}</h2> <-- This works
<div>
<input type="text" v-model="message"> <-- Blank!!?
</div>
</div>
<!-- more html -->
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
#endsection
#push('scripts')
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/vue/dist/vue.js"></script>
<script>
var app = new Vue({
el: '#app',
data: {
message: 'Hello Vue!'
}
});
</script>
#endpush
The input field which v-model="message" is bound to is completely empty, however, when outputting message via curly braces I can see it's value. This is what it looks like:
Any ideas what's going wrong? I have checked the console and Vue dev tools and no errors show up, in fact nothing shows up at all in Vue dev tools - an issue perhaps? I copy pasted these code snippets from the Vue docs introduction to make sure I wasn't doing something silly. I have tried setting the data attribute inside the Vue instance as a function returning an object but it makes no difference. I also have the code working here: https://jsfiddle.net/eywraw8t/249625/ where the input field shows the value of message as I am expecting it to work.
I wouldn't consider myself a Vue pro but I'm no beginner and I cannot quite figure out what's going on. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
Update
Thanks to everyone who answered. Made a silly mistake... I forgot that there is some JS that is pulled in, in the <head> when running make:auth - this includes Vue by default. I forgot to look properly here as assumed it would be prior to </body>. I believe the two JS scrips were conflicting which was causing the issue. See head below:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="{{ str_replace('_', '-', app()->getLocale()) }}">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">
<!-- CSRF Token -->
<meta name="csrf-token" content="{{ csrf_token() }}">
<title>{{ config('app.name', 'Laravel') }}</title>
<!-- Scripts -->
<script src="{{ asset('js/app.js') }}" defer></script> <-- Vue included here
<!-- Fonts -->
<link rel="dns-prefetch" href="https://fonts.gstatic.com">
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Nunito" rel="stylesheet" type="text/css">
<!-- Styles -->
<link href="{{ asset('css/app.css') }}" rel="stylesheet">
</head>
I commented the script out and it's working fine now.
For vue.js 2 use the following:
<html>
<body>
<div id="app">
<h1>Vue: #{{message}}</h1>
<input v-model="message">
</div>
<script src="https://cdn.jsdelivr.net/npm/vue/dist/vue.js"></script>
<script type="text/javascript">
var app = new Vue({
el: '#app',
data: {
message: 'Hello Vue!'
}
});
</script>
</body>
</html>
For more details how to work on v-model: Laracasts_episodes_2
try the following code
#extends('layouts.app')
#section('content')
<div class="container">
<div class="row justify-content-center">
<div class="col-md-8">
<div class="card">
<div class="card-body">
<div class="card-title">
<div id="app">
<template>
<div>
<div class="card-title">
<h2>
Add Instructor
</h2>
<h2>vue: #{{ message }}</h2>
<div>
<input type="text" v-model="message">
</div>
</div>
</div>
</template>
</div>
</div>
<!-- more html -->
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
</div>
#endsection
#push('script')
<script>
var app = new Vue({
el: '#app',
data: {
message: 'Hello Vue!'
},
});
</script>
#endpush

Prevent Slide down on to perform some other action on mouse-wheel scroll in Fullpage js

I am using fullpage js in a website and i need to stop a particular slide to scroll down on mouse wheel scroll. Rest slides will slide normally. On 4th slide(slide in my case), i have two images which i want to display on scroll one by one. First image will be visible by default and on scroll 2nd image will display and first will be hidden. During this, slide will not scroll down. Once 2nd image is displayed then slide will scroll down to next slide. and reverse function will be performed on 4th slide while scrolling up.

[Vue warn]: Cannot find element: #app

I have a fresh installed laravel project with all the components updated.
All I did is tried to add app.js in my welcome.blade.php file, after adding the following I get this error
[Vue warn]: Cannot find element: #app
I followed this thread, but it's not relevant as my script is at the bottom of the page.

Error says it all. Vue can't find #app element, so you need to add it:
<div id='app'></div>
https://v2.vuejs.org/v2/guide/
Sometime everything seems got , but we are still getting same error then you have to copy this code and paste in app. blade.
<head>
<!-- Scripts -->
<script src="{{ asset('js/app.js') }}" defer></script>
<!-- Fonts -->
<link rel="dns-prefetch" href="//fonts.gstatic.com">
<link href="https://fonts.googleapis.com/css?family=Nunito" rel="stylesheet">

</head>
<body>
<div id="app">
.
.
.
.
.
.
</div>
</body>
Verify that your main design file app.blade.php contains a div with the app id just after the <body> tag just like this:
<body>
<div id="app">
.
.
.
</div>
</body>

bootstrap modal just shows darkened screen (no modal)

I have http://chessresearcher.com/test-02.html which should load http://chessresearcher.com/hello.html as a modal, but it doesn't display it! What am I doing wrong? I have kept the code to bare minimum. The code source is http://www.tutorialrepublic.com/codelab.php?topic=bootstrap&file=modal-with-remote-url which works.

The problem is the combination of angular ui and bootstrap 3. I can't find the link that solved the problem for me, but the solution was to add this css:
.modal {
display: block;
height: 0;
overflow: visible;
}
