I am trying to develop apps for Hololens
After setup of Visual studios 2015 runs and gets completed, With a yellow triangle representing error it states, setup complete. However, not all features installed correctly.
Tools for Universal Windows App(1.4.1) and Windows SDK(10.0.14393)
The installer Failed. Fatal error during installation. Error code:1603
I have tried to reinstall visual studios community 2015, same error comes. I also tried to uninstall separately Windows SDK 10.0.014393.33 and run the VS setup again, it doesn't help as well.
I would recommend uninstalling visual studio, update Windows to the latest version, redownload the visual studio installer, disable antivirus and try again. If that doesn't work, Microsoft has a whole forum dedicated to troubleshooting VS install issues at:
https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/vstudio/en-US/home?forum=vssetup
You are almost certain to get a better response there.
We watched a Xamarin installation video by Jason D, downloaded XamarinInstaller.exe version3.6 and ran it. We noticed that unlike the video, we are only seeing the Andriod SDK and the Xamarin for Visual Studio components in our options and missing the GTK# and Xamarin Studio. The install finished successfully so we don't know whether we have everything we need or not.
The reason we think this is because when we launch VS, we don't see any Xamarin.Forms type projects, for example.
Can someone tell us if we may be missing some pieces?
Thanks in advance for any help.
1.- Remove all
2.- instal VisualStudio 2015
3.- run xamarin installer
Did you installed the extension correctly that binds xamarin with visual studio?
Open Control Panel > Programs, search for your edition of Visual Studio and then click the Change/Uninstall button at the top of the window. Wait for a moment while the Visual Studio Installer launches, and then repair the installation.
Updated: I have followed the below steps for Visual studio 2015. Hope that it will work for other versions of Visual studio.
To install Xamarin framework into Visual studio successfully, please follow the below steps,
Visual studio 2015 community edition installation:
To download VS2015 Community edition ISO (Size is around 7GB), check
http://www.kunal-chowdhury.com/2015/07/download-visualstudio-2015.html
To install VS2015 Community edition, please follow the below link, http://www.howtosolutions.net/2015/08/solving-installation-is-stuck-problem-in-visual-studio-community-edition/
Offline installation would be more faster (around 1 to 2 hours).
If any further issue comes, repair MS Visual C++ 2015 redistributable.
Finally, VS 2015 will be installed quickly.
Xamarin framework Installation:
To download Xamarin, visit https://www.xamarin.com/download
You can download Xamarin Installer.
Launch Xamarin installer, it will download and install the below components,
Java 8.
Android SDK, NDK and emulator images.
Xamarin Framework.
To store the setup of components, launch Xamarin installer and while it starts downloading, disconnect internet.
It will abort and open Manual installation instructions. Connect to internet again and you can save setup.exe for all components from manual wizard and install it for later purpose.
After Xamarin is installed, launch Visual studio 2015.
You can create Xamarin projects, under Visual C# -> Cross platform option.
Revert back for queries, if any.
I have both Unity 5.3.1f1 and Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Community edition properly installed and running (I've been using them separately for a while now). However, now that I try to install Visual Studio 2015 Tools for Unity, the installation process crashes giving me the following error:
"Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 Tools for Unity Setup Wizard ended
prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified. To
install this program at a later time, run Setup Wizard again. Click
the Finish button to exit the Setup Wizard".
Of course, I already restarted my computer. I even uninstalled Visual Studio and Unity and then installed them again (that is really painful by the way). Nothing changes.
Can anyone help me on? I don't even know how to get support for something on the boundary like the Visual Studio Tools for Unity.
Here is a screen capture of the error:
From unity 5.2 and up i guess you don't need Visual Studio Tools for Unity as Unity from version 5.2 has native support for Visual Studio (same applies on 5.3.1f1).
i use Unity and visual studio with the tools
a link that can be helpful on what i said:

So I'm trying to do what I think is a very simple thing: generate a Windows Phone app with PhoneGap and open it in Visual Studio. On a totally fresh Windows installation (via Bootcamp), I've:
Downloaded Visual Studio Express 2013 for Windows (the very first download button: http://developer.windowsphone.com/en-us/downloadsdk)
Created a PhoneGap Windows Phone app per the Getting Started guide.
However, every time I try to open the csproj file, I keep getting this error:
Unsupported
This version of Visual Studio is unable to open the following projects. The project types may not be installed or this version of Visual Studio may not support them.
For more information on enabling these project types or otherwise migrating your assets, please see the details in the "Migration Report" displayed after clicking OK.
- HelloWorld, "C:\BodBot\BodBot-PG\BodBot\platforms\wp8\HelloWorld.csproj"
No changes required
These projects can be opened in Visual Studio 2013, Visual Studio 2012, and Visual Studio 2010 SP1 without changing them.
- HelloWorld, "C:\BodBot\BodBot-PG\BodBot\platforms\wp8\HelloWorld.sln"
No matter what I do. It works totally fine on Visual Studio 2012 for Windows Phone. I've tried it on VS 2013 for Desktop, and that doesn't work either. No clue what is happening here, and don't know even where to start to figure out what's wrong. I've Googled extensively to no avail; basically all instances of this error seem to have to do with previous version of VS. Pointing in any direction would be very much appreciated.
Turns out Update 2 wasn't getting installed correctly. I ended up installing Visual Studio and the Update 2 separately and Update 2 got installed successfully. Everything works now.
To build Multi device hybrid (Cordova tooling) apps with Visual Studio, you need to have Visual Studio 2013 Update 2 - Professional, Ultimate, or Premium.
Visual Studio 2013 Update 2: Global Apps e Android/iOS App
I want to install Visual studio 2013 Ultimate, but an error message pops up saying:
You need a newer version of windows
After a little research about the known installation issues for VS2013, I updated to SP1 from the Microsoft website and installed IE10, but I am still unable to install it.
SOLUTION FOUNDED:
I have found the solution to my problem, simply by changing the Visual Studio installation File from the C (system drive) it was in the desktop, to the D (other stuff drive) and relaunching the installation again, magically the installation begins without any issues.
