Breakpoints not getting hit in Visual Studio 2019 Xamarin.Forms project - debugging

I'm developing a Xamarin.Forms add, and I don't know if yesterdays update on Visual Studio 2019(16.5.1) was the reason but when i'm in the debug mode connect with my device on Android Project breakpoints don't hit. The interesting part is my app is working OK. I login in my app , a have responses from my Api but the breakpoints not hit. Did anyone have same problem ? I looks like something is changed in my project.
P.S I made new Xamarin.Forms blank project the breakpoints are heated. Please someone for solution?

After days of exploring i finally found out that i unchecked Use Shared Runtime.
Thank you all for your suggestions , i will make post active, because there are other solution's in the comments that might help someone, because this issue dependence of lot of factors.

there was a flag in android manifest.xml file which says android:debuggable = false
I made that as true and it worked
android:debuggable = true
hope it helps someone

Rebuilding the entire solution worked fine. Visual Studio jumps over the breakpoints because symbols do not align between the Solution and Code. Any alteration of the project results in a rebuild, so instead of playing around with the setting, try and rebuild first and see if that works.

DataTable visualizer nowhere to be found in Visual Studio 2017

This is driving me crazy. When I'm debugging, I don't have the magnifying glass icon to see the data inside my DataTable. I tried this, this, and this solution to no avail.
How in the world I get the icon back??
Thank you!
I had the same problem but posting my fix since it was very frustrating as I wasted a few hours trying to troubleshoot the issue.
It turned out to be my project type. I created a new .NET framework (non-core) project and it magically reappeared.
Apparently it is a known issue with .NET Core.

the breakpoint will not currently be hit at Vs 2015

In my WCF project at Vs 2015 when I add break point for debugging I got this message:
the breakpoint will not currently be hit no symbols have been loaded for this document.
I do googleing and none of other's answer worked for me !!!
for example: Right click the Solution in solution explorer, click "clean solution", this deletes all the compiled and temporary files associated with a solution.
and this and this
any suggestion?
thank you
If your solution is having shared projects with other solutions which is also open then close the other solution. Then clean the solution and restart Visual Studio. Then do rebuild (rather than build, though it is cleaned).
Hope this will fix the issue.
I finally got what is my problem. I have a big mistake. I decide write that , where was my problem because maybe it is helpful for other developer.
I fresh installed windows and after that I installed VS 2015. because I did not install IIS , Vs used of IIS Express. this is was my problem. for solve that, I installed IIS and then in properties of my project and Web section and server part I select Local IIS and then Create virtual directory. now my problem gone.
Right Click the Project and click properties.
Under Build the Active Configuration should be set to Debug.
While running the code with F5 or Play button.
Make sure Debug is selected instead of Release in the drop down next to Play button.
I put myself in a stupid situation.
I remember setting this, and it was a bad idea...
In the Attach to Process dialog, I had the Attach to: set to the older Managed setting 3.5, 3.0, 2.0.
when I should have been using Managed (4.6, 4.5, 4.0). I'm actually using 4.7, but this works for me.
Be sure to match your target framework!

Visual Studio Xamarin schema set keeps reseting

I've started trying out Xamarin lately and firstly I've noticed that Intellisense for .axml files was not working. I googled it and figured out that I should include some files in my schema set, but that didn't help. I actually found out that excluding (choosing "Automatic" or "Do not use this schema") all of the schemas helps.
But whenever I open another file in VS, or even switch from Source to Designer tab and back, the problem reoccurs, i.e. it goes back to
this. I am using Visual Studio Community 2015.
Has anyone else had trouble with this before or knows what I should do?
Thanks in advance!

Visual Studio runs comments

For some reason VS 2013 is completely ignoring my changes to the file.
Namely, even if I comment a whole section out it would still execute it!
I tried:
Clean build
restart computer
removing and including the same file again
Note: I am developing a cross platform application using Xamarin and VS.
Would appreciate any help!
Thanks
Probably you have compiled the project for Release, change that to Debug and build it again.
I doubt this question or answer would help anyone but here goes...
Solution: I had to update my SDK from the Android SDK Manager:
Open Android SDK Manager
Under Tools tick the checkbox next to the most recent Rev. ( I installed 23.0.5)
Click "Install packages..."
Background
After having the problem I described I noticed few other really strange things. For example VS would not let me modify any of my drawables. If I tried to delete, add or rename any drawable VS would get stuck and the only way to solve this was to force stop it.
Here is the bug for this issue Visual Studio hangs when including, excluding, or saving files in Android resource folders.
Once I installed the latest SDK everything was well.
Hope this helps

Visual Studio removes line break on start

I have the problem that Visual Studio (or maybe Resharper?) removes line breaks when I try to start my application. This happens in a way that when I press F5 or click on the run button with the mouse that a line break at the line where the cursor was the last time will be removed which is extremely annoying.
I have not tried so many things yet because I really don't know where to start. I never experienced this problem before and was always working with the same setup:
Visual Studio 2010
Resharper 6.1.1
Other plugins I use but which were installed after the problem (so I think they should not be related to the problem):
AnkhSvn
TeamCity
Example:
Before:
public void test(){
int x = 5;
}
After running the solution:
public void test(){
int x = 5;}
Edit: This issue seems to be related to Resharper - so hopefully they will be able to fix this issue as I never had this with any previous versions. (http://devnet.jetbrains.net/message/5456038#5456038).
This is a problem with Dexexpress Dim#ster patch. If you delete licenses.licx and compile in the source code. Not happend. The problem is when you open a form and licenses.licx is created again. Is you uninstall the patch this dissapear. But I dont understand why deactivating Resharper the problem gone too. But without patch and resharper + devexpress trial working fine.
The problem is the patch.
I'd do this before reinstalling:
Uninstall All plugins
Type devenv.exe /resetsettings
Now try and use your code as described without plugins. Slowly add back your plugins if its ok and check after each is installed if the problem manifests itself. if not it was some setting in one and its now gone, if it comes back after one is installed you have a good thing to look at.
Just blatting the environment means you'll never find out whats causing it, which would annoy me :)
Have a look at ReSharper's Braces-settings: http://www.jetbrains.com/resharper/features/code_formatting.html#Code_Style_Configuration_and_Sharing (1st screenshot). Try changing those settings according to your needs.
If you're a member of a team, maybe someone else enabled sharing of "code style settings". See the previous link for that, 2nd screenshot.
Does it also occur when you just build the project?
In the build options try doing clean project, then open close the program. After this do a rebuild project. Also make sure the project is in debug mode for testing =)!
Delete the settings resharper in solution. Helped me.
I know that this question is a little bit old. But this may help anyone who encountered the same error with resharper and devexpress controls. I've tried all the above instructions, but the nothing works. BTW I'm using visual studio 2017 with resharper 2017.2.2 and devexpress 17.2.3
This what works for me.
Open build&run window in resharper. Click Resharper>Windows>Build&Run to open the the window then select "Enable 'Resharper Build'. Open any file in text editor and move the cursor at the end of any line of codes or on any empty line and try to build the project to see if it works.
Hope this will help.
At this point I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling VS. Then add ReSharper and any of your extensions one at a time.
I had the same problem. I use this prebuilt-event script
break>$(ProjectDir)\Properties\licenses.licx
I have ReSharper 10.0.2, VS2013, DevExpress Components and VisualSVN.
