I am retrieving data from 3 tables account, product and stock. Account and product has one to many relation and product and stock has one to many relation, I am trying to retrieve data using account table, here is my query:
$account=Account::find(1);
$result=$account->product->stock;
echo($result);
I am getting result but problem is that I need some specific columns from stock table and when I write following code I am getting error property does not exist:
$result=$account->product->stock->model;
//in controller first get account data
$account=Account::find(1);
$products=$account->product;
foreach($products as $product){
$productData=$product->stock;
}
//in account model
use App\Product;//model name
function product(){
return $this->hasMany(Product::class, 'account_id');
}
//in product model
use App\Stock //model name
function stock(){
return $this->hasMany(Stock::class, 'product_id');
}

I have the following structure:
Charge
id
amount
created_at
..
Payment
id
amount
created_at
..
and a pivot table charge_payment, since one charge can be covered partially by multiple payments.
charge_payment
charge_id
payment_id
amount
The amount column on the pivot table defines the amount that the given Payment covers for the Charge.
And I need to get only the "paid" amount for a Payment.
I have the following models:
// Charge.php
class Charge extends Model
{
public function payments()
{
return $this->belongsToMany('App\Payment')->withPivot('amount');
}
}
// Payment.php
class Payment extends Model
{
public function charges()
{
return $this->belongsToMany('App\Charge')->withPivot('amount');
}
}
I want to be able to get only the paid amount with:
$payment = Payment::find(..);
$paid_amount = $payment->charges->sum('pivot.amount');
However, with this approach the related models are loaded from the database and I won't be needing them.
Is there a way to load only the additional pivot column without the related models?
Thank you very much!
Firstly, if one Payment can be always related only to one Charge, I would advise you to change the relationship from many-to-many to one-to-many (it will be just more correct and simpler).
Than you can simple use aggregate function (in your case withSum) which will return you only resulting values without relationship Models.
$payment = Payment::withSum('payments', 'amount')->find(..);
{{ $payment->payments_sum_amount }}
I am working with four tables in Laravel and trying to display data to a view. I believe I am stuck because one of the tables has a composite primary key.
I have the following in my controller:
public function show($id)
{
//Get application for drug
$application = PharmaApplication::where('ApplNo', $id)->first();
//Return all products for application
$drugs = $application->products;
return view('profiles.drug', compact('drugs'));
}
I have the following in my PharmaApplication model:
public function products()
{
return $this->hasMany('App\PharmaProduct', 'ApplNo', 'ApplNo');
}
I have the following in my view (which I cannot complete)
#foreach ($drugs as $drug)
<li>{{$drug->Strength}}</li>
<li>{{$drug->Form}}</li>
<li>{{$drug->Form}}</li>
#endforeach
I am trying to accomplish the following:
Get the application for a drug - this part of my code works
Return an array of objects for the products (i.e. 7 products that belong to one application). I can do this but get stuck going to the next part.
Next, I have to use the array of objects and search a table with the following columns: MarketingStatusID, ApplNo, ProductNo. I know how to query this table and get one row using DB Query, but then how do I get the proper result to that query within the for loop in my view?
Finally, I use the MarketingStatusID to retrieve the MarketingStatusDescription which I will know how to do.
in my Laravel project i get this database structure:
Products
Id
Name
Orders
Id
Total
Order_Product
Product_id (nullable)
Order_Id
Details
In my Order model I make belongsToMany retaltionship with Product model:
public function products() {
return $this->belongsToMany(Product::class)->withPivot('Details');
}
The Problem is when I try to get the Order Products Collection
$order->products();
I don't get rows with nullable product_id, Any solution please ? Thank you.
Laravel support "Null Object Pattern" since version 5.5 which allows you to define a default model that will be returned if the given relationship is null.
Try using the following code:
public function products() {
return $this->belongsToMany(Product::class)->withDefault()->withPivot('Details');
}
Most likely, you don't get "nullable" products because you have a relation Order->Products. When you call $order->products(), eloquent tries to get all Product entities that are connected to your Order via product_id field. So, if field is empty, then you can't get Product because there is no connection.
One of the solutions is:
create another entity like OrderLine(Order_Product table); add methods like $orderLine->details() and relation to Product like $orderLine->product()
add relation to OrderLine inside Order - $order->line() or $order->info() etc. -> Order hasMany OrderLine
then use $order->line() to get an order's details and products (if exists)
p.s. I've compiled it in my head so it might need some code adjustments.
Good luck
I'm new to Stack Overflow and Laravel.
I try to develop a variable profilesystem in Laravel and I got 3 tables ('User', 'User_Fields', 'Fields').
The structure of the Fields table is following:
The structure of the user_fields table is following:
The User table is the standard table which came with Laravel 5
Now I want to get all fields from user_fields depending on which user is selected or logged in. If the user_field doesn't exists, the model should return null or create a new record for the user_field.
I tried a lot of "solutions" which came with eloquent like (hasManyThrough, belongsToMany) but I don't get the result I wanted.
Is there any solution with relationship methods?
Thanks for your help, and sorry for my bad english :/
You should be using the belongsToMany()->withPivot() to retrieve the intermediate table columns. Your user_fields is your pivot table so on your user model you should have:
class User extends Model
{
public function fields()
{
return $this->belongsToMany(Field::class, 'user_fields')->withPivot('value');
}
}
Then you can access your values for a user by:
$user = User::find($id);
foreach($user->fields as $field) {
$field->pivot->value;
}
I am working in laravel5.4. I have created four table as ticket, users, and company. Here, I have stored users id in ticket table. And stored company id in users table.
Here, I want to show ticket's user name with that users company name.
Here, I have create relation for it that looks like below.
Ticket model :
public function requesters(){
return $this->belongsTo('App\User','requester_id');
}
Here requester_id is who create ticket.
Users model :
public function company()
{
return $this->belongsTo('App\Models\Admin\Company');
}
Company model :
public function Users()
{
return $this->hasOne('App\Users');
}
Here, I have written query to get users information that looks like below.
Ticket::with('requesters')->orderBy('subject','asc')->paginate(10);
Now, I want to fetch company information or request_id So what changes should I have to do in this query to fetch company info along with ticket and users ?
If you want to to Eager load multiple relationship you can put them all in single with like this:
Ticket::with('requesters','requesters.company')->orderBy('subject','asc')->paginate(10);
but if you load nested relationship you can use shorter notation - you can omit parent relationship, so it's enough to use here:
Ticket::with('requesters.company')->orderBy('subject','asc')->paginate(10);
Try this, it should work for this case:
Ticket::with('requesters')
->with('requesters.company')
->orderBy('subject','asc')->paginate(10);
