I have one ssrs report, output of sql stored procedure having 400k rows show withing in 30 seconds, but ssrs report takes too much time to render (around 5 to 6 minutes). report does not have any grouping, it is plain tablix report.
check report log in execution log 3 table, time taking for rendering report.
how to show such large no. of rows on ssrs report?

I'm running queries against a Vertica table with close to 500 columns and only 100 000 rows.
A simple query (like select avg(col1) from mytable) takes 10 seconds, as reported by the Vertica vsql client with the \timing command.
But when checking column query_requests.request_duration_ms for this query, there's no mention of the 10 seconds, it reports less than 100 milliseconds.
The query_requests.start_timestamp column indicates that the beginning of the processing started 10 seconds after I actually executed the command.
The resource_acquisitions table show no delay in resource acquisition, but its queue_entry_timestamp column also shows the queue entry occurred 10 seconds after I actually executed the command.
The same query run on the same data but on a table with only one column returns immediately. And since I'm running the queries directly on a Vertica node, I'm excluding any network latency issue.
It feels like Vertica is doing something before executing the query. This is taking most of the time, and is related to the number of columns of the table. Any idea what it could be, and what I could try to fix it ?
I'm using Vertica 8, in a test environment with no load.
I was running Vertica 8.1.0-1, it seems the issue was caused by a Vertica bug in the query planning phase causing a performance degradation. It was solved in versions >= 8.1.1 :
https://my.vertica.com/docs/ReleaseNotes/8.1./Vertica_8.1.x_Release_Notes.htm
VER-53602 - Optimizer - This fix improves complex query performance during the query planning phase.
Currently my tabular form displays 10 rows at a time. How do I increase the number of rows to be displayed, say from the current default number of 10 to something like 20? Is there a place somewhere in the page attribute where you can set the number of rows to be displayed, as in the case of an interactive report?
Region -> Attributes -> Layout -> Number of Rows
In scripting window you will find a drop-down with row label, select it and choose the number of rows you want to display.
If you are facing this problem for an 11g Oracle SQL Developer:
More than 10 rows available. Increase rows selector to view more rows.
Then you can directly solve this from drop down menu of rows situated beside Autocommit checkmark from SQL Workshop:
select 1000000 to show more rows :
Run those queries again!
Final Result having 21 rows in result :
This might have solve your problem!
You can call function
javascript:apex.widget.tabular.addRow();
N number of times per click... For example,
Generate 2 rows, call
javascript:apex.widget.tabular.addRow();
javascript:apex.widget.tabular.addRow();
Generate 4 rows, call
javascript:apex.widget.tabular.addRow();
javascript:apex.widget.tabular.addRow();
javascript:apex.widget.tabular.addRow();
javascript:apex.widget.tabular.addRow();
We are migrating some reports from Oracle Reports to Evisions Argos. And in Oracle reports, there was a "Before Report" trigger, that would get fired before the actual running of the report query. This allowed us to fill some tables before the query and keep the whole business logic in the report itself. Is it possible to do something like this in Argos? Where could you execute PL/SQL code before running the query for the report? Either at the report or the datablock could work for us.
You can add a dataset to the report and call the procedure(enclosed with begin/end) there.
I have an application which uses Oracle Database. I have several sql updates and selects in the application.
I gathered an AWR report on Oracle Database to diagnose some performance charasteristics of my application.
When I analyze the report by checking the "SQL ordered by Executions" statistics, I found out that one of my update query run 8985 times and row number processed by this query is 8,985. But, I have a select query and it run 8,985 times too but row number processed by this select statement is 8936.
My select query is right after the update query so it is expected that both queries' executed time is equal. What I wonder is, why my select query processed less row than its executed time value.
Thanks

I have a dataset that has about 1,100,000 rows.
When I load this into my jqGrid, SQL Profiler tells me it takes 29.7 seconds just to return the count of records and then a further 29.8 seconds to return the data to display in the grid.
Please see below the SQL that does the row count against my SQL Server table.
SELECT
[GroupBy1].[A1] AS [C1]
FROM ( SELECT
COUNT(1) AS [A1]
FROM [dbo].[vw_ProductSearch_FULL] AS [Extent1]
) AS [GroupBy1]
Can anyone suggest how to improve the performance of this "count" query that is generated by jqGrid?
We need more information about your database in order to recommend improvements to your query. But as Oleg said, you may not need to query for the count.
As to the data in the grid, you have seen that having ~1 million rows in the grid just does not work well. I suggest you either use Pagination or True Scrolling Rows to only load a small subset of the rows at any given time. This should get your performance back up to an acceptable level.
