how to show list of oracle database links in datagrip? - datagrip

preview 1
I can see Tables, Views, Routines ... and I also want to see the database links of oracle connection in datagrip. How to make it visible? seems to be easy but I cannot find it

DataGrip has basic support for Oracle DB links since 2020.2 release.

How to Create Table Dependecy Tree - Oracle

Given an Oracle table, how can I found out what depends on that table? e.g. Which Views, Functions, Stored Procs, etc.
One would think it would be easy given Oracle SQL Developer or Aqua Data Studio, but they don't contain that feature. How frustrating!
In Aqua Data Studio, connect to your Oracle Server and Expand your Tables node under the Schema Browser. Pick your table, right click and select Table Properties. Navigate to the Dependencies tab and you can see all the dependencies.

Derby Database Desginer view

Is there any tools through which we can see the designer view of the database in derby.
I want to see the the complete structure of the database like in phpmyadmin we can see using Designer View.
Something had asked similar question.
See
use derby ij against an existing database
if you are a user of RAD and intelliJ Idea, they provide plugins to view the data.
For IBM RAD, use the perspective Database Explorer.

ODAC/Entity Framework Model Update Issues

We are looking to introduce odac into our application but I am running into a number of issues and I can't seem to find any solutions that fix our issues.
We are using an oracle database and trying to use ODAC 12c Release 1 (12.1.0.1.0) with Oracle Developer Tools for Visual Studio.
In our model we would like to have multiple schemas so we can perform cross schema queries. The schemas which we select in the filter for the database connection appear when we are creating the model. However when we try to update our model from the database only the default schema is visible. Sometimes this can be fixed by opening the relevant part of the database in Server Explorer in Visual Studio but this doesn't always work. This fix never works after we add multiple connection strings for the same model (depending on the location of the user will depend on which database the user gets directed to).
The next issue we are having is that we can't the return types of stored procedures to be auto-generate. I have tried to retrieve the column information but it is never able to retrieve the metadata. I have seen a few suggestions of modifying the stored procedures then getting the column information and reverting the stored procedures but this is something we would like to avoid. Also the suggestions don't seem to work on oracle databases (but that could be me, I don't have much experience with databases).
The final issue (this is a minor issue) is that I cannot figure out how to get the generate code to omit underscores from the classes/methods generated. This isn't a huge issue it is purely to make it easier migrating the code we have.

Sqldeveloper 2.* had handy Data Modeler - is there anything similar in Sqldeveloper3.*

Sqldeveloper 2.* had a very good tool to view database schema. here is the screen-shot of how it can be launched:
Was this tool removed from SqlDeveloper 3.* and is there something similar there?
P.S. I tried googling and reading manuals for some time, of course.
The latest versions of SQL Developer still have the data modeler.
http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/datamodeler/overview/index.html
here's a link that shows you, I use it almost daily in the latest version of sql developer (or at least 3.1.07 that I am using -->whoa they've updated to 3.2 I'll go get that later)
you can still goto Tools->Data Modeler but you can also OPEN and SAVE the datamodeler via the File->Data Modeler context menus (it seems to have been 'combined' with SQL DEVELOPER to the point where you save it independently).
If you go to VIEW->Data Modeler->Browser you can then create models etc and save them via the aforementioned menu item in SAVE.

SQL Server-style Change Tracking (auditing) for Oracle

Having used SQL Server 2008 Change Tracking feature, I'm looking for a similar solution for Oracle.
I'm mainly wondering if such a feature already exists in Oracle or if the standard solution is to use triggers and 'tracking' tables.
I've googled, but I think 'change tracking' aren't the right keywords?
We ended up using triggers and such to write our own change tracking for the tables
