I'm working on a Windows 7 SP1 machine.
I just started using Atlas. Trying to connect to my cluster, I followed the instructions to download mongo shell. I put it in a folder, and opened a terminal. In the terminal I navigated to the bin directory of the mongo shell download folder. Then, when I try to run the connection string, I get an error that I'll translate from spanish:
"Cannot find procedure's point of entry BCryptHash in bcrypt.dll."
I don't know which other details to include in my question. How do I fix this so I can connect via mongo shell?
Check Install MongoDB Community Edition on Windows
Platform Support
EOL Notice
MongoDB 4.4 Community Edition removes support for Windows 8.1 / Server 2012 R2
MongoDB 4.4 Community Edition removes support for Windows 8 / Server 2012
MongoDB 4.4 Community Edition removes support for Windows 7 / Server 2008 R2
MongoDB 4.4 Community Edition supports the following 64-bit versions
of Windows on x86_64 architecture:
Windows Server 2019
Windows 10 / Windows Server 2016
MongoDB only supports the 64-bit versions of these platforms.
Quite clear I would say.

Does Windows Server 2022 support Powershell 7?
Based on what I've seen so far, it looks like it supports 5.0 out of the box.
I've googled around a bit and it looks like it's supported on Windows 10/11, Windows Server 2012, 201 and 2019.
It surprised me to not see Windows Server 2022 listed.
PowerShell 7 is supported in Windows Server 2022 as shown here, along the different install option.
Windows
7.2 (LTS-current)
7.3
7.4 (preview)
Windows Server 2016, 2019, or 2022

While I cannot answer your question from experience with Server 2022, I think I can safely say "Yes" to your question based on my experience with the downloadable Zip version of PowerShell 7.x.
That downloadable version works on anything and everything Windows I've placed it on, including Windows PE! Download it, unzip it, run the "pwsh.exe" file in it, and start testing your code!
I installed oracle enterprise 11g R2 on windows 11 home single language.
Now trying to open SQL developer says 'Unable to launch the Java Virtual Machine located at path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Java\jdk1.8.0_221\jre\bin\client\jvm.dll'.
Once I tried installing same oracle on windows 10 home but could not due to error. Later I came to know Oracle Enterprise is not supported on Windows 10 Home. This time however, there was no error as such except typical installation option was marked in red. Otherwise installation was complete. So I was hoping Windows 11 home would work.
In case, the problem is not to be solved, is there any oracle edition that is supported on windows 11 home. Objective here is to make small scale projects to learn nitty gritties of SQL thouroughly.
Thank you!
When I tried to setup the MongoDB shell version 4.4.6 in my windows 8 system I am getting the following error:-
The procedure entry point BCryptHash could not be located in the dynamic link library D:..\bin\mongo.exe
Is this related to any dll file missing my windows system ?
According to [MS.Docs]: BCryptHash function (bcrypt.h) (emphasis is mine):
Minimum supported client Windows 10 [desktop apps | UWP apps]
Then I checked [MongoDB.Docs]: Install MongoDB Community Edition on Windows - Platform Support which states (emphasis still mine):
EOL Notice
MongoDB 4.4 Community Edition removes support for Windows 8.1 / Server 2012 R2
MongoDB 4.4 Community Edition removes support for Windows 8 / Server 2012
MongoDB 4.4 Community Edition removes support for Windows 7 / Server 2008 R2
So, either upgrade to Windows 10, either install an older MongoDB version.
I got ODTwithODAC121021 here It installs the Oracle Client, ODAC, and ODT bits.
When I run the installer, the prerequisite check fails with this:
Reference data is not available for release "12.1" on the operating system distribution "Windows XP5.1".
I actually have Windows 7 Professional SP1
Huh?
My intent is to get the ODT bits into Visual Studio 2010 so I can use Server Explorer and Entity Framework. I don't really need a new Oracle Client, I've already got one installed to match our 11g server version, but it seems I can't pick and choose with this installer, which won't run.
Suggestions? thanks.
This is a bug in this specific version of the Oracle Installer. Here is the workaround:
After making sure the installer is not running, please open up this file in the staging area where you unzipped ODAC:
....\stage\cvu\cv\admin\cvu_config
And in that file change the CV_ASSUME_DISTID value that is there to 6.1
Then save the changes and run the installer again.
This will force the installer to assume you have Windows 7.
