When I'm trying to build my Spring project using Maven I'm getting this error : "Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-compiler-plugin:3.8.1:compile (default-compile) on project firstSpringProject: Fatal error compiling".
Can someone help me to figure this problem out ?

error 500 when loading a jsp page in Spring Boot

I am trying to load a page with my simple Spring Boot application but it is giving me 500 error(Server). There is nothing in my jsp page except from text "hello" in body

Those 3 classes are just deafult classes so there cant be a problem.
And my application.properties file contains -
spring.mvc.view.prefix=/WEB-INF/jsp/
spring.mvc.view.suffix=.jsp
What did I do wrong?

Getting a signing page when visiting localhost 8080

I am trying to create a simple web app using spring boot in eclipse. I have created a new spring starter project and run it in eclipse.it works very well.
but when I go to the localhost 8080 pages, I am getting a sign-in page.
I have no security dependencies in my pom.xml
even if I tried to go to localhost without running my app same problem

Maven fails to compile spring-boot empty project

I have downloaded a spring-boot empty project from Spring Initializr and when compiling it gives me the following error:
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal org.apache.maven.plugins:maven-surefire-plugin:2.22.2:test (default-test) on project demo: There are test failures.
I've tried with both jdk 8 and 12, looks like it doesn't change anything.
