I am trying to create simple application using Laraver(8) Blade, I am a complete beginner in Blade, I want to rednder extended view in my template, but it doesn't works, also it doesn't throwing any errors, The page is refreshed my view not showing, what i am doing wrong?
main layout:
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html>
<head>
#include('layout.header')
#stack('css')
</head>
<body id="body">
<div class="blackscreen"></div>
<div class="blackscreen2"></div>
#yield('content')
<script src="{{url('js/developer.js')}}"></script>
#stack('js')
</body>
</html>
template:
#extends('layout.main')
#section('content')
<h1>hello</h1>
#endsection
route:
Route::get('/', function () {
return view('layout/main');
});
Route::get('/test2', function () {
return view('layout/main');
});
this is my file structure
if you save your template into resources/views/template.blade.php,
you should call view method like this:
Route::get('/', function () {
return view('template');
});
if you save your template into other folder inside resources/views, like resources/views/test/template.blade.php,
you should call view method like this:
Route::get('/', function () {
return view('test.template');
});

I am creating a simple laravel and vuejs CRUD Application. Vue Routes are not working, I am pretty new to vuejs; please see the code
Below is the code for web.php
Route::get('/', function () {
return view('welcome');
});
Auth::routes();
Route::get('/home', 'HomeController#index')->name('home');
Route::get('/vue','Api\PostController#home');
Route::resource('/api','Api\PostController');
Following is the code for app.js
require('./bootstrap');
window.Vue = require('vue');
window.VueRouter=require('vue-router').default;
window.VueAxios=require('vue-axios').default;
window.Axios=require('axios').default;
let AppLayout = require('./components/App.vue');
const Posts = Vue.component('Posts',require('./components/Posts.vue'));
const EditPost =
Vue.component('EditPost',require('./components/EditPost.vue'));
const AddPost =
Vue.component('AddPost',require('./components/AddPost.vue'));
const DeletePost =
Vue.component('DeletePost',require('./components/AddPost.vue'));
const ViewPosts =
Vue.component('ViewPosts',require('./components/ViewPosts.vue'));
const ExampleComponent =
Vue.component('ViewPosts',require('./components/ExampleComponent.vue'));
// Registering routes
Vue.use(VueRouter,VueAxios,axios);
const routes = [
{
name: 'Posts',
path: '/posts',
component: Posts
},
{
name: 'AddPost',
path: '/add-posts',
component: AddPost
},
{
name: 'EditPost',
path: '/edit-post/:id',
component: EditPost
},
{
name: 'DeletePost',
path: '/delete-post',
component: DeletePost
},
{
name: 'ViewPosts',
path: '/view-post',
component: ViewPosts
},
{
name: 'ExampleComponent',
path: '/example-component',
component: ExampleComponent
},
];
const router = new VueRouter({mode: 'history', routes: routes});
new Vue(
Vue.util.extend(
{ router },
AppLayout
)).$mount('#app');
This is the code of my blade tamplate, when I browse http://localhost:8000/vue this view is being rendered. As you can see in the web.php code above.
I can also see the notification in console You are running Vue in development mode. Make sure to turn on production mode when deploying for production.
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="{{ app()->getLocale() }}">
<head>
<meta charset="utf-8">
<meta http-equiv="X-UA-Compatible" content="IE=edge">
<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width, initial-scale=1">

<meta name="csrf-token" content="{{ csrf_token() }}">
<title>{{ config('app.name', 'Laravel') }}</title>
<!-- Styles -->
<link href="{{ asset('css/app.css') }}" rel="stylesheet">
</head>
<body>
<div class="container">
<header class="page-header">
<div class="branding">

<h1>Vue.js CRUD With Laravel 5 application</h1>
</div>
</header>
</div>
<section id="app">
</section>
<script>
window.Laravel = <?php echo json_encode([
'csrfToken' => csrf_token(),
]); ?>
</script>
<script src="{{ asset('js/app.js') }}"></script>
</body>
</html>
But when I run my application using
php artisan serve
and browse to
http://localhost:8000/posts
Application show a 404 error. Please help me with this problem.
You need to add a laravel route for the view where you are using the app.js (vuejs) in routes/web.php file.
Route::get('/route-name/?{name}', function(){
return redirect('vue_app');
})->where('name', '[A-Za-z]+');
and then you have to use the laravel route as a parent route for the vuejs's routes and use the url like below,
http://localhost:8000/laravel-route/view-route
in your case,
http://localhost:8000/route-name/posts
Or you can also use,
Route::get('{any}', function () {
return view('vue_app');
})->where('any', '.*');
and instead of previous use localhost:8000/posts
Try this to your web.php route
Route::get('/', function () {
return view('index');
});
Route::get('/{catchall?}', function () {
return response()->view('index');
})->where('catchall', '(.*)');
if with {any} did not work, you may also try adding ?
Route::get('/any-your-route/{any?}', function() {
return view('your-view');
})->where('any', '.*');
hope this help you. i just try this code and work on laravel blade template with vue router.
Tested on Laravel 8
For your second part of question,
You should use <div> instead of <section> and you have to bring the main/registered component inside of the html element selected by id="app" in blade file. in your case,
<div id="app">
<app-layout></app-layout>
</div>
Hope this help you. you can check this basic vuejs with laravel
PS: You should ask two different problem in two seperate posts.
you can do simply like this.
Route::get('/{vue_capture?}', function(){
return view('welcome');
})->where('vue_capture', '[\/\w\.-]*');
I'm trying to understand laravel's basic blade template engine, but I can't seem to get past a basic example. My blade template is not loading .It only show the white screen but when I remove the hello.blade.php to hello.php it works .Any suggestion?
Routes.php
Route::get('/', 'PagesController#home');
PagesController.php
<?php namespace App\Http\Controllers;
use App\Http\Requests;
use App\Http\Controllers\Controller;
use Illuminate\Http\Request;
class PagesController extends Controller {
/**
* Display a listing of the resource.
*
* #return Response
*/
public function home()
{
return Views('hello');
}
}
hello.blade.php
<html>
<head>
<title>Hello World</title>
</head>
<body>
<div class="container">
<div class="content">
<div class="title">Starting to learn Laravel 5</div>
</div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
There is no Views helper. It's called view:
return view('hello');
Well, I had the same "white screen problem". And the blade docs in laravel is so confused. Then, try this:
Create a layout, lets say template.blade.php:
<html>
<head>
<title>Hello World</title>
</head>
<body>
<div class="container">
<div class="content">
<div class="title">Starting to learn Laravel 5</div>
#yield('view_content')
</div>
</div>
</body>
Create a simple view that you want to wrap into the template, lets say hello.blade.php:
#extends('template')
#section('view_content')
This is my view content
#stop
Now, in your controller just call the view instead the layout:
public function home(){
return view('hello');
}
I'm not sure how it is working regardless of the extension as in your controller the syntax is incorrect. You return the view not Views... return view('hello'). You should technically see something like the following:
FatalErrorException in PagesController.php line 18:
Call to undefined function App\Http\Controllers\Views()
Even if app_debug is false you should see Whoops, looks like something went wrong.
I got this when I made a typo like so:
return views('abc');
instead of
return view('abc');
That extra s was killing everything.
I have just started trying out angular js and using the egghead.io videos. One of the samples is about routeProvider. I am using vs.net 2012 to run it but cant get it to display any of the templates or messages when I hit:
http://localhost/app.html/pizza
This is the sourcecode inside of app.html:
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.0.7/angular.min.js"></script>
<script>
// Create a new module
var app = angular.module("app", []);
app.config(function ($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.when('/', {
templateUrl: "app.html",
controller: "AppCtrl"
})
.when('/pizza', {
template: "yum"
})
});
app.controller("AppCtrl", function ($scope) {
$scope.model = {
message: "this is my app"
}
});
</script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="//cdn.jsdelivr.net/foundation/4.3.2/css/foundation.min.css">
<div ng-app="app" ng-controller="AppCtrl">
</div>
Modified from JoeyP's post to make it work:
index.html
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.0.7/angular.min.js"></script>
<script>
// Create a new module
var app = angular.module("app", []);
app.config(function ($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.when('/', {
templateUrl: "app.html",
controller: "AppCtrl"
})
.when('/pizza', {
templateUrl: "yum.html" // there was a typo here in the OP
})
.otherwise( {
redirectTo: '/'
});
});
app.controller("AppCtrl", function ($scope) {
$scope.message= "this is my app";
});
</script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="//cdn.jsdelivr.net/foundation/4.3.2/css/foundation.min.css">
<div ng-app="app">
<div ng-view></div>
</div>
app.html
<div>
Go get some pizza! {{message}}
</div>
yum.html
<p>
MMMM, pizza
more pizzaaaaaaaa
</p>
Note: The code need to be run on web-server (ex. Apache) to function.
app.html and yum.html are fetched by angular after the page has loaded. So in your example http://localhost/pizza should point to the page with the above code and yum.html (as well as app.html) should be located in the root of your project.
On load angular will download app.html if you hit "/" and yum.html if you hit "/pizza". Here's an example
index.html (excluding <html>,<head>,<body>, etc)
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.0.7/angular.min.js"></script>
<script>
// Create a new module
var app = angular.module("app", []);
app.config(function ($routeProvider) {
$routeProvider.when('/', {
templateUrl: "app.html",
controller: "AppCtrl"
})
.when('/pizza', {
template: "yum.html" // there was a typo here in the OP
})
});
app.controller("AppCtrl", function ($scope) {
$scope.model = {
message: "this is my app"
}
});
</script>
<link rel="stylesheet" href="//cdn.jsdelivr.net/foundation/4.3.2/css/foundation.min.css">
<div ng-app="app">
<div ng-view></div>
</div>
app.html
<div>
<p ng-bind="model.app"><p>
<a ng-href="/pizza">Go get some pizza!</a>
</div>
yum.html
<p>
MMMM, pizza
</p>
The ng-controller attribute isn't needed because you defined the controllers in the routes. You do need the ng-view attribute somewhere in the main html file so angular knows where to insert the template.
John from egghead.io really needs to update this section of his tutorial.
See this answer:
Failed to instantiate module [$injector:unpr] Unknown provider: $routeProvider
you need to add this dependency:
<script src="https://ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/angularjs/1.2.0rc1/angular-route.min.js"></script>
var app = angular.module("app", ['ngRoute']);
P.S. template: "yum" is totally valid, as in template: "<p>yum</p>"
(JoeyP thinks you're trying to do templateUrl: "yum.html")
This fiddle has the starter kit recreated, with and extra button that alters the model.
http://jsfiddle.net/UjacC/1/
However, when clicking change, the array changes, but the view is not being updated. Why?
<title>Ember Starter Kit</title>
<body>
<script type="text/x-handlebars">
<h2>Welcome to Ember.js</h2>
<button id="btnChange">change model</button>
{{outlet}}
</script>
<script type="text/x-handlebars" data-template-name="index">
<ul>
{{#each item in model}}
<li>{{item}}</li>
{{/each}}
</ul>
</script>
<script>
$(document).ready(function(){
console.log(stuff);
$("#btnChange").click(function(){
stuff.push("d");
console.log("change",stuff);
});
});
</script>
</body>
App = Ember.Application.create();
var stuff = ["a","7","b","c"];
App.Router.map(function() {
// put your routes here
});
App.IndexRoute = Ember.Route.extend({
model: function() {
return stuff;
}
});
Instead of stuff.push you need to use Embers pushObject which will notify listeners of an object that there was a change to it.
EDIT:
Here's the updated jsfiddle: http://jsfiddle.net/UjacC/2/
for quick reference I have attached the image of what I want.
I would like to update (change the content) without updating the whole page (without refreshing the page). Clicking on the links or buttons on the whitebox should fetch the data from the database and that is to be displayed in the redbox. Of course first thing you would write as an answer will be "Ajax!!!", but as I'm new to laravel framework, I want to know what is the best way to achieve this, should I write the javascript directly in the view or in the controller, and how to do it through controller? If you need any more info please let me know.
Revised question, is there any other better way other then the ones answered
First we need to set up some routes. You can also do this with controllers.
Route::get('home', function()
{
return View::make('home');
});
Route::get('someRoute', function()
{
return View::make('someView');
});
For the home view, I'd add a scripts section:
//home.php
<html>
<head>
<script>
$('a.ajax').click(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
var pageURL = $(this).attr('href');
$('#ajaxContent').load(pageURL);
});
</script>
</head>
<body>
<div class="wrapper">
Click Here
<div id="ajaxContent"></div>
</div>
</body>
</html>
In case you're using blade templating, here's an implementation
//main.blade.php
<html>
<head>
#yield('styles')
</head>
<body>
<div class="wrapper">
#yield('content')
</div>
#section('scripts')
<script src="//ajax.googleapis.com/ajax/libs/jquery/1.10.1/jquery.min.js"></script>
#show
</body>
</html>
//home.blade.php
#extends('main')
#section('content')
Click Here
<div id="ajaxContent"></div>
#stop
#section('scripts')
#parent
$('a.ajax').click(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
var pageURL = $(this).attr('href');
$('#ajaxContent').load(pageURL);
});
#stop
it would be better for you if you use jQuery to do this update using ajax functionality.
and a simple code can be like this
$('a.ajax').click(function(e){
e.preventDefault();
var pageURL = $(this).attr('href');
$('#divID-to-be-updated').load(pageURL);
});
more about ajax functionality inside jQuery can be read from http://jqapi.com/#p=load
