I am creating a report meant to be read/edited by MS Word. To do that I have created it from scratch and saved as .docx.
In this report I am including some images together with captions. All of the captions were added manually. Everything went fine, I have saved the document and closed Writer.
Now I want to put my hands on it again and, upon opening the report, this is what I am seeing:. Previously the figure was showing fine inside the text box (that inserting a caption creates). The text box is in the same position and size, but there appears to be a boundary over which it just displays white. I can reduce the figure's size inside the boundary of visibility, and a glimpse of the captions appears too .
Note that the red arrow disappears too.
Needless to say, I can not work on a 100+ pages document and then check again each picture, delete it and re-create it, check again the cross references and so on. I would much rather work with LaTeX, but I am required to deliver a .docx file.
I am working on Ubuntu 20.04, Libreoffice is updated to version 6.4.6.2 and the only plugins I have equipped it are TexMath and Zotero.
Thank you for your time.
I noticed the same thing. It seems to be an issue already in Libreoffice Writer between Linux and Windows. If you create a document on Linux with a cropped image and then open the file in Libreoffice on Windows the cropping of that image is already messed up. Happens to me with Libreoffice Version 6.3.5.2.

Using ubuntu 16.04 LTS, Paraview 5.0.1.
I have a Layout with two views, one RenderView and one LineChartView.
I want to programmatically Save Screenshot and Save Animation of the two together.
When doing either one, and also when doing this with only the LineChartView, only a portion of it shows up in the created image. The image below shows an example, where the error is evident.
The same result is obtained when saving the image with:
WriteImage("test.png")
SaveScreenshot("test.png"). Tried several combinations of ImageQuality, ImageResolution, magnification.
Via menu (not my final target, but I tried it).
How can I programmatically get the correct images/animations, both of this View alone and paired with another one?
As posted by Cory Quammen in a comment, upgarding to 5.4.1 seemed to work.
I wouldn't know if suitably setting some parameters (e.g., lineChartView1.ViewSize and/or in SaveScreenshot) this could also work in 5.0.1.
This is driving me crazy. I have a jupyter notebook with images and I'm trying to convert it to a pdf on my mac. I've installed pandoc and macTex, but when I try to convert it to pdf the images disappear. Also the formatting for my tables gets messed up. I've tried saving it as a markdown and converting it, but I get the same problem. If I convert to html the images disappear but the table formatting is correct. I've also tried converting it in the terminal with nbconvert, but the images still disappeared. And I tried converting the markdown file with rstudio, but still the images disappeared. I've tried two versions of the code to reference images. The versions are below, both display fine in the jupyter notebook but the first one throws an error and the second one the images disappear. I've googled around, it seems to be a common issue but I'm not seeing a lot of solutions. I really can't believe this is this difficult. Any solution is greatly appreciated.

The issue was it had to be an absolute reference and I had a space in my file path.
The problem was appeared when I migrate my site from WindowsServer2003 to CentOS.
There is a image field in the Node type.In the old server everything goes well, but in the CentOS the nodes' image field do not show the picture. It just show the image name as a link and click the image name I can see the picture in a new browser tab.
I know that the images have been upload in the sites/default/files. And also the permission for the directory is 777.
I google a lot but get no results.
so what cause the problem? any suggestions are appreciated.
Windows and Unix-based systems use different pathing syntax, so the paths for your images may not work now, under CentOS. Use a text editor's find-and-replace feature to change the paths in the database by exporting the database to a SQL file, running the find-and-replace, and then importing the file. Make sure to keep backups of everything.
Following the instruction in this link ( https://github.com/EllisLab/CodeIgniter/wiki/PDF-generation-using-dompdf ), I always encounter an error when opening the pdf file created. The error message is:"Cannot extract embedded font 'TradeGothicLT-CondEighteen'.Some characters may not display or print correctly. " and when i click OK, the pdf displays black background and when i start highlighting the body, it captures the text but text are in black font-color. what should I do to get rid of this error?
There may be something wrong with your font cache, located at dompdf/lib/fonts/dompdf_font_family_cache.php (though the exact file name depends on your release and whether you have loaded fonts). This file tells dompdf what fonts are available for use in the PDF. If this file references a font that isn't actually available you can run into major issues on viewing. You may need to re-load your font files. Take a look at the Unicode how-to for an overview of using embedded fonts. This document hasn't been updated to reflect changes implemented in dompdf 0.6.0 beta 3, but the information is still pertinent.
My problem is when I open my old project (project that work by same Delphi Version), I lost the entire image picture contents. By this I mean picture property is None.
When I open dfm with notepad, the picture property has Data but when I open it with delphi, its picture data will disapear. It seems that Delphi recognize picture data invalid.
(in this situation Delphi erase all data).
This happen with all Image Components and all Components that have Picture Property
I encounted this problem when I reinstall Delphi, and I am now running Delphi version 2007.
Your problem is probably caused by a missing package supporting the stored image format. Check for any image or graphics library that has been installed on your previous system and is missing in the current one. A good candidate for that is always GraphicEx.
