Using Mac OS Catalina and on Mac OS a Ctrl + Left click = Right click. This is very annoying however I found a post that showed how Karabiner-Elements could fix this. I imported the rule and it is enabled, however it still doesn't work and Ctrl + left Click still = Right Click. Any help to get this working would be appreciated.
Update: opened event viewer and found that left clicks and right click don't show up, is this supposed to happen or do I need to enable Karabiner reading mouse in settings somehow?
I think using an older version of Karabiner-Elements is a bad ideal. If you're using a mouse, then you need to turn on the corresponding device to make it continue to work. Karabiner-Elements Preferences -> Devices -> Basic configuration and enable the mouse, which is useful for me when use IDEA for source code tracking

I read the documentation about Firefox's page inspector. I didn't find any shortcut for inspecting an element directly without clicking the button 'choose element with mouse'. The documentation for opening the inspector itself even looks to be wrong.
You open it with cmd + option + i on OSX rather than cmd + option + c as described in the documentation.
Using Firefox v24
It seems that Ctrl+Shift+C always open the inspector in "choose element with mouse" mode. [Linux, FF 26.0. Also works in Chrome.]
It's not exactly the same flow as context menu -> inspect element but I find it more useful. The hover tooltip sometimes gives me all the info I need. And it's more reliable — just opening the context menu generates a mouse event while Ctrl+Shift+C doesn't. E.g. with CodeMirror which plays games with invisible elements, using context menu usually lands me in the hidden textarea or fake cursor, while "choose with mouse" mode reliably gives me the styled editor content I wanted to inspect.
Windows: Ctrl+Shift+C.
Mac: Cmd+Option+C.
Ctr + Shift + C and function F12 button is default inspect element button for every browser.
So if firebug isn't installed in your firefox then F12 button is the shortest shortcut for your goal.
I'm not sure about the way you do it in Mac OS, but on windows, if you select the element by pressing tab until you reach it, if you press the context menu key and then Q, you open the inspector on that specific element, like it happens when you right click on it.
I believe the context menu key is not a mac thing, but it seems that there are people that worked around to do it. See this question: How do I open the context menu from a Mac keyboard?.
On Mac (I'm using Yosemite though), it's Command ⌘ + Option + c.
On Linux (Ubuntu 18.04) and Firefox (version 72.0.2) it's CTRL + SHIFT + i , or hotkey F12.
Photoshop CS2 always stay on top, even when I click another app from the windows taskbar (right of the start button).
It's completly annoying me. Always need minimized, click the other app, reclick again on photoshop, re-reminimized.
I only have 1 screen at work so I can't let photoshop on one screen and work with the other app on the other screen.
I look in all photoshop menu, find nothing
I googled the problem, and find a adobe page explain this problem is a "feature".
I only want photoshop cs2 work all other app on windows and loose focus, let new app appear on top.

I had this problem and somehow solved it. But my solution may be just as fickle as why the problem occurs in the first place. But here's what I did:
On the layers palette (F7) I clicked on the small arrow just below the close "X" button, on the right. Then I selected "Pallete Options"
Didn't change any options but just clicked OK.
Now the entire window remained on top, not just the palettes. So I restarted Photoshop and it seemed to fix the issue.
I found that if you open up "edit > preferences > Memory & Image Cache" and set your memory usage up then it will fix it. I am on a Windows 10.

I literally JUST found this on accident and fixed it after having issues with all my toolbars being hidden behind stuff, and not being able to minimize without clicking on the PS window first etc. Seems to have worked!

Try Topmost Toggle. Works on Window 7, Window 8 and even Windows 8.1. I use it for disabling Photoshop CS2 and when Firefox bug out. Works like a charm and it's pretty easy to use:

Run the program - you will see that it minimize on tray
Ctr + Right click on your program and click

I am having same issue with CS2 on Windows 7 64 bit. To work around, I hit tab on keyboard when photoshop window is active, that makes all pallets invisible, then I can switch to any window I need to work on.

How to perform right click through Keyboard in Mac Lion OS? Since I am keyboard loving person, I don't like all the time use mouse for right click. I found much of the shortcuts of Mac through googling, but I didn't found this one.
Finally I got my answer:
Go to System Preference --> Universal Access --> Mouse --> Enable Mouse Keys (ON)
This will Enable you Numpad keys. Press Ctrl + 5 for Right Click.

With every release, Apple is organizing all accessibility related controls under Accessibility in System Preferences. Steps to enable context menu (right click) with keyboard-
System Preferences --> Accessibility
Accessibility --> Pointer Control
Alternate Control Methods --> Enable alternate pointer control options
Select this checkbox to enable this option
Click on the options button next to this option --> Default for right click is F12
If use is restricted to Finder only and you do not mind incurring monetary costs, I would suggest the combination of Alfred and its workflow called RightClick. It works on Catalina.
Ok, have a very specific setup question. I'm using Mac OS X, iTerm, and vim. I really like using my mouse for clicking tabs in normal mode, scrolling in normal mode etc. (e.g. I already have the mouse working within iTerm/vim).
However, I dislike using visual mode for selecting. I just want to use OS X selection not vim's visual select. The next logical step? Disable visual selection in the mouse options:
set mouse=nicr
The problem with this is that when I try to select (using the mouse) vim intercepts the mouse click and doesn't allow me to select at all!
Anyone know how deal with this issue? It feels like its solvable if one knew the proper character/control codes (which I obviously do not).
Goal: use the mouse in vim for everything except "select". Let iTerm/OS do the selection.
I don't have a Mac, but under Linux holding Shift while highlighting allows you to use the mouse to copy with the mouse settings you mentioned.

I am using Firebug with Firefox 3.6 on OSX 10.5.8. Since FF 3.6 there is a shortcut to activate fullscreen mode which is "shift" + "command" + "F". But it is the exact same shortcut of Firebug to launch "Display Element Information".
Since i never and don't really need fullscreen mode and use extensively the "Display Element Information" feature of firebug; i am trying to either change the firebug shortcut or disable the FF shortcut.
I tried finding something when accessing about:config but could not find anything relevant.
Does anybody has a solution or hack?

I think the shortcut you are referring to is actually part of the Web Developer plugin, not Firebug. Firebug has a simliar "Inspect Element" function that uses Ctrl-I.
If you don't want to install yet another plugin, just to change one shortcut, then you will have to change the Web Developer shortcut to something else.
I've tried overriding this behaviour using the OSX System Preferences, creating an Application-only shortcut to the menu item: Tools->Web Developer->CSS->View Style Information, but no dice. This plug-in, while one of the most useful that I've found, has always seemed kind of shoddy. It's rarely updated, and bugs seem to live on forever. It breaks every time FF is updated. etc etc. But I still love it.
Not sure which extension is causing this for you. Just checked Web Developer Toolbar and don't see Cmd-Shift-F anywhere.
One newer feature in Firebug is the Customize Keyboard Shortcuts preferences panel on the Firebug menu. Open Firebug, click on the Firebug bug icon menu in the top left of the panel and select Customize Keyboard Shortcuts from the menu that shows up. You'll likely need a restart for these changes to take effect.
Well, now i feel very stupid !!!!
Indeed it is a shortcut from the Web Dev Toolbar and not firebug. I used these 2 so much during a day of work that i forgot they are 2 separate add-ons.
I was able to change the shortcut via the "Options" menu of the Web Dev Toolbar.
And just in case someone changes a shortcut, remember to restart FF for the changes to take effect.
