Why AutoCAD cannot open dwf files, directly? - autocad

I use AutoCAD 2015. When try to open dwf files with AutoCAD get error that
Can not find the specified drawing file.
Please verify that the file
exists.
I search in web and found this solution :
I open in AutoCAD empty project and type in command dwfattach and press enter. One windows opened then I select my file and click ok.
In main windows request position that I set all to 0.
I open layout windows and dwf file displayed.
I must do all this steps for all files.
I need a solution that open dwf files directly!

According to AutoDesk you cannot open a DWF file. Their website says:
AutoCAD, DWG TrueView, and Design Review do not have a conversion
feature to change DWF files into DWG format. DWF/DWFx files are a
"digital plot" file containing only low-intelligence entities. It is
not intended for use as a drawing file exchange format and cannot be
fully recovered or changed back to a standard drawing file.
AutoDesk has a process to convert a DWF file into a DWG file in this article:

How to change a file's extension to something else?

I downloaded an .R file from a zoom chat on desktop to open in Rstudio later.
Well, the .R extension was not part of the name, so I changed the name to something.pdf (of course by mistake).
The icon now looks like a pdf. I replaced the .pdf with .R. But the icon still is a PDF file and Rstudio does not recognize it as an R file.
How can I can change it back to its .R format?
edit. thanks for pointing this out. I am on a windows 10 machine. and the file is on desktop.
Troubleshoot for Windows
You may be trying to add multiple file extensions, which does not allow the file to be ready correctly.
A quick google search.
How do I reveal file extensions?
For Windows 8-10
Start Windows Explorer, you can do this by opening up any folder.
Click the View menu.
Check the box next to "File name Extensions"
Then make sure you have my_file.R as opposed to my_file.R.R.pdf.

Opening a file with not installed program

I have a .blend file which I want to open using blender but the problem is this :
I downloaded blender from its website in a compressed file (zip file) so I can open it directly without installing
Blender program works fine and I can open my file from the program itself using open in file menu but I want to open .blend files from outside by double clicking which gives me open with window to choose a program and I choose blender from browse but it always choose another program
How can I fix this problem ?
Unzip the program so that it enters itself into the registry. Once you done that, you can right click on your .blend file. Go to Open With, and Choose Default program. From there, navigate your drive to the .exe for Blender.
From then on, it will be registered as the default for that filetype.

.vbp could not be loaded and NOT in notepad neither

As of yesterday, my vbp file refuses to open '.vbp could not be loaded'. If i try to open the individual forms, some of them work (open in vb6), some of them produce error .log file with two class errors : Class TabDlg.SSTab of control mstTabArticles was not a loaded control class. Line 3672: Class MSComCtl2.DTPicker of control dtpTicketDate was not a loaded control class.
I cannot open the vbp in notepad neither (=empty) and in wordpad i only get small squares...
Any help please?
Your .vbp file is corrupt. You will either need to restore from your backup or source control (you do have both of those don't you?).
Failing that, you will need to recreate the project file from scratch and readd each of the forms. You'll need to figure out what controls and references were loaded though.
As for the errors when loading the form files, this is normal as the controls have not been added to the project.
One other possibility is to open your file with a hex editor. You may be able to rescue a good deal of the text from the corrupt file and copy it to a new one.

chm file downloads issue

I have content with mime type set as application/x-chm, which as I understand it, enable downloading of chm files.
However when I select the link which triggers the save/open file dialog the .chm file extension is not resolved and I have to explicitly add the .chm file extension for the file to be saved.
How can I get the .chm file extension to resolved automatically?
According to this official IANA document, the MIME-type for .chm files is application/vnd.ms-htmlhelp.
Side note, you never know for sure how the file is being displayed to the user, since the user can choose how to display a file themselves.

How to extract vb forms from exe file or project file

I have to formate my PC. I have installed Visual Studio again. Earlier I have a project
on Visual Basic. I have the Project files saved as .VBP extn and also have and ExE file for
the same project. It is also running. But How can I retrieve the Forms i have created in VB from these Exe and Project file.
Let's clear something out of the way first, there's no strightforward way to get those forms out of the .exe file, so that is not an option.
On the other hand, the .vbp file is the project file, it does not contain the forms themselves, but it can help you locate them forms.
Visual basic doesn't require for the form files (.frm) to be stored on the same folder as the project file, that is why the project file stores the location of those forms. All you have to do is right click on your VBP file and select open with from the context menu, then select notepad from the list and you will see the plain text contents of your VBP file. Around the top there should be a few lines that look like these (depending on how many forms your project has):
Form=Form1.frm
Form=....\Form2.frm
Form=..........\Source Code\Form3.frm
Those are the "relative" paths of each of the frm files on the project. If yours looks like the first one where there's no path, then it means the frm files where stored in the same folder of the vbp and you have lost them (someone might have deleted them, or not copied them when they sent you the project), in that case there's nothing you can do to retrieve them.
But if the lines on your vbp file look like the second and third line, then search into those folders and the form files "should" be there, but unfortunately there's no warranty.
Hope that helps!
