Visual Studio 2010 - TFS - Cant remove workspace, error fully-qualified username - visual-studio-2010

So i have an Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 - Team Foundation installation on my laptop that has corrupted Workspaces. I have tried to do a full cleanup but i cant get these Workspaces to reset or whatever.
The problem is that the WorkSpaceOwner isnt my actual account name but some kind of random ID. I cant delete the Workspaces, nor can I select the right user account. It keeps giving me these kind of errors:
While trying to remove the workspace:
-The user name [ID] is not a fully-qualified user name. Parameter name: workspaceOwner.

You need to repair your VS2010 by installing the updates in the following order:
Visual Studio 2010 SP 1
Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Team Foundation Server Compatibility GDR
Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1

When saving file that is monitored by TFS getting error: Cannot be saved because write-protected

When I open the visual studio (2010 - professional), i am getting the following error:
"The associated source control plug in is not installed or could not be initialized vs 2010"
I tried all the recommended solutions here: [TFS Error: "Source Control - Unable to Access Database" But nothing worked.
Is it possible that i have some problem with my VS? Maybe i am missing a Service Pack?
Check that the following are installed on your computer:
Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1
Visual Studio 2010 SP1 Team Foundation Server Compatibility GDR https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29082
Update for Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Service Pack 1 (KB2736182) https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34677
I was missing (2) and (3), after their installation I didn't get the error "The associated source control plug in is not installed or could not be initialized vs 2010" anymore upon opening the visual studio, and was able to save the modified files as usual.
Tip: check the solution on another machine.
If it opens without any errors then the solution above probably will work for you.

Can't edit the process template in Process Template Manager

I'm using TFS 2013 and Visual Studio 2012 and I'm trying to edit the process template.
On the following page it says: "You must be a member of the Project Collection Administrators group".
Even though my account is in Project Collection Administrators group I cannot download, edit nor upload process template from Visual Studio, as you can see from image below:
Any clues?
I've figured it out. For TFS 2013 in order to be able to edit and upload process template, you have to have Visual Studio 2013 installed. VS2012 isn't going to help you up with this. Here is the source and citation:
To create a team project or manage process templates on an on-premises TFS, you must connect using the same version level of Visual Studio or Team Explorer. That is, to create a team project on TFS 2013, you must connect from Team Explorer 2013.

Add existing folder to Team Foundation Server 2010 that already exists for other Team Foundation Server 2012

I am workign with a central Team Foundation Server (2010) and I connect to it from my workstation. On my workstation I use both Visual Studio 2010 and 2012. I have installed both have the Team Explorer 2010 and 2012 and the latest patches and hotfixes.
I need to use both Visual Studio 2010 and 2012 because I am developing both .NET 4.5 code and SQL Server Reporting Server reports for SQL Server 2012.
I can configure both instances of Visual Studio to connect to TFS, I mapped my workspace in Visual Studio 2012 and I can interact with Source Control. I tried configuring Visual Studio 2010 to use the same working folder, I can connect to TFS, I can see the source control folder, but when I try to map it to the same local folder I get the following error message:
Map
The working folder "C:\TFS\Example" is already in use by the workspace JohnDoesPC; Doe, John on computer JohnDoesPC
I tried configuring the workspace mapping through the dropdown in the Source Control Explorer:
Team Explorer>project>Source Control>Map Window>(Set Local Folder)
And I tried it through the Source control menu under the File menu:
Go File>SourceControl>Manage Workspaces>(Highlight my showing workspace)>Edit>Try to add existing folder.
What am I missing? Do I need to map my solution folder to two different local folders? That would be very confusing and inconvenient!
The simplest way to put this is that I want two versions of TFS to point to the same local location. Is that possible? Or should I be creating a new project up just for my SSRS reports?
EDIT: See pic for more detail:
Make sure that in both Visual Studio 2010 and Visual Studio 2012 the same work space name is selected. If you cannot see the workspace of 2012 in Visual Studio 2010, check the advanced workspace settings of the workspace in 2012. Ensure that the workspace type is set to server.
When both Visual Studio versions are using the same workspace name, they should be able to see and use each others file mappings as well.
This is what the settings in 2012 should look like:
And that workspace should be visible in 2010 as well:
Make sure you select the same workspace name in both versions of Visual Studio:

Can't create Team project in tfs 2012 using visual studio 2010

I install TFS 2012 and I have visual studio 2010. I already create team collection but I can't create team project. Error message {you don't have permission create team project} but I give all permission to current user.
Some of the Administration activities will not work when you are using lower version of Team Explorer client. You need to install Team Explorer 2012 or Visual Studio 2012 to create new team projects.

Can't to connect Visual Studio 2008 to TFS 2010

I am trying to connect to my TFS 2010 RC server. When I try to connect I get a error message.
Here is a screen shot:
alt text http://xs.to/image-2537_4B8BEAA0.jpg
This is the path I am using to connect: http://tfs2010test:8080/tfs/DefaultCollection
I have Team Explorer 2008 SP 1 installed.
I have read this question: Visual Studio 2008: Can't connect to known good TFS 2010. That is how I got my path that I tried.
I can connect just fine using Visual Studio 2010.
What am I missing?
Have you installed the forward compatibility update from here? Further details can be found here.
Here was my solution to get Visual Studio 2008 Team System to connect to TFS2010: (Beware convoluted).
Install Visual Studio 2008 Team Explorer
Uninstall Office 2007 (because of an incompatibility between Visual Studio 2008 SP1 installer and Office 2007)
Run the Microsoft Install Clean Up utility to remove all references to Office 2007 that did not get removed when uninstalling)
Re-Install Visual Studio 2008 Service Pack 1
Install Visual Studio Team System 2008 Service Pack 1 Forward Compatibility Update for Team Foundation Server 2010
Reinstall Office 2007 or go to OpenOffice
Access TFS2010 repository...
When I have added TFS servers before, I could not add the port in the URL. Have you tried this without the port, and allow discovery?
A few things to try:
Have you tried connecting with Team Explorer 2010?
Have you tried creating a new project collection?
On your server, open the TFS admin tool and confirm that you have permissions to use that collection.
Be aware, some options are just not available in Team Explorer 2008.
Let me know if you need help with the security/groups on the server. It was very confusing to me when I first tried to work with it.
