I have a problem, I'm doing a test with jmeter and I need to know how to change the value of a variable that has a space, example "pro va" with "pro% 20va" this because then this variable will be used to do a query on an endpoint example "www.google.com/search?q=pro%20va"
Use __javaScript() function to call encodeURIComponent() function:
${__javaScript(encodeURIComponent("${myVar}"),)}
Put your variable in "Path" field of the HTTP Request sampler - it will be encoded automatically

If you have the choice - go for 2nd option as using JavaScript is some form of performance anti-pattern, if you target to use the approach for high loads - it's better to implement the encodeURIComponent() function in Groovy

When I use the command ${__jm__myLoopControllerName__idx} in JSR223 Sampler, it always returns 0 as the index.
The sampler is in the Loop Controller. But I can see that the CSV file I'm looping is done for each line because in the listener "View Result Tree" I can see in the Request Headers, that the data is from each line. What am I doing wrong ?

Use vars to get variable in JSR223 script:
String index = vars.get("__jm__myLoopControllerName__idx");
variable inside ${} syntax is getting cached
ensure the script does not use any variable using ${varName} as caching would take only first value of ${varName}. Instead use : vars.get("varName")
As per JSR223 Sampler documentation:
The JSR223 test elements have a feature (compilation) that can significantly increase performance. To benefit from this feature:
Use Script files instead of inlining them. This will make JMeter compile them if this feature is available on ScriptEngine and cache them.
Or Use Script Text and check Cache compiled script if available property.>
When using this feature, ensure your script code does not use JMeter variables or JMeter function calls directly in script code as caching would only cache first replacement. Instead use script parameters.
So either put your ${__jm__myLoopControllerName__idx} to "Parameters" section and refer it as "Parameters" in your script:
or use vars shorthand for JMeterVariables class instance like:
vars.get('__jm__myLoopControllerName__idx')
I have this issue that I want to solve.
I want to create a new http request using field from previous response
I send a request
I used Json extractor to move the response string to a variable (let call this string nurl)
I used Regular expression and move the field that I want to "Reference Name"
(meanning from nurl I just want tt_cid)
Now I want to make a new call, and use that field tt_cid in my new call
How I shall call tt_cid? since it is not passed as User Defined Variables,
when I use tt_cid, I do not think J meter know it, since it is not written there, I just pulled it from the response.

For your understanding add Debug Sampler after Regular expression,
You will see all your JMeter variables, including tt_cid, which can be called as other variables ${tt_cid} inside other Samplers.
It's called Reference Name and not Variable Name because it's more complicated, You should read JMeter's Regular Expression to understand how it works internally, But basically it saves more than just 1 Variable.
I have a looping process that will extract some values from a web service (working) and loop through to pull all the information for each value (working).
I need to capture the whole return into a variable so I can modify it and post it back up later.

But the "Get response" BeanShell PreProcessor is picking up old responses

Given where my "Get response" object is, I would assume the:
vars.put("ResponceData", prev.getResponseDataAsString());
...would grab the response from "Baseline for ${ID} of site ${callSite}". Please help!
You are using wrong test element. Beanshell PreProcessor is being executed before request therefore it acts properly and returns response from the previous request instead of current one. You need to change it to the Beanshell PostProcessor and your code will start working as you expect.
It is recommended to avoid scripting where possible, if you need to save response data into a JMeter Variable you can do it using i.e. Regular Expression Extractor. According How to Extract Data From Files With JMeter article the relevant configuration will be something like:
Reference Name: ResponceData
Regular Expression: (?s)(^.*)
Template: $1$
If you face a JMeter limitation which cannot be worked around without using scripting make sure you are using the most performing scripting language, since JMeter 3.1 it is recommended to use JSR223 Test Elements and Groovy language

I have single request, what I want is that same request should have unique di (last key in query param). Nothing else I want to change.
My test is based on unique di in request keeping other parameters constant.
You can use Random function.
Hint:
I would suggest using __UUID() function which will generate a GUID structure which is unique according to the underlying algorithm each time being called.
If you don't like dashes you can remove them via __groovy() function like
${__groovy("${__UUID}".replaceAll("-"\, ""),)}

I have a series of interconnected pages to test using JMeter. The problem is that the initial page has a Javascript variable in source section which is more of a session variable. This variable is passed in the URL for subsequent pages.
So basically I would like to fetch this javascript variable when I load the initial page from the source section and pass it to next URL(s).
Is there a way I can achieve this using JMeter.
Are you able to see the session variable in the response of initial page?
(in view result tree listener)
If yes, then correlate this value and pass the variable in to next request (use regular expression extractor for fetching the value, still if you are finding some issue in correlating the value than please share the response of first request over here so that I can provide you regx for that)
People mostly Regular Expression Extractor to fetch dynamic values from previous responses, in general the process looks like:
Add Regular Expression Extractor as a child of the request which returns desired data
Use Perl5-style regular expression to match what you're looking for
Provide a template to choose match group - ususally $1$ if you looking for a single value
Provide a reference name to refer the extracted value, i.e. foo
Use extracted value as ${foo} where required
You can visualise JMeter Variables using Debug Sampler and View Results Tree listener combination.
The easiest way to debug your regular expressions is using View Results Tree listener in "RegExp Tester mode"
