I am developing an application using Laravel 8.x. I have an api.php file that I am using. It was all working fine for the last 5 months. Today I added a new route to the api.php file and that route is not getting picked up by the Laravel. I have the following items in the api.php file
//Products
Route::get('/products/{currency_id?}/{type?}/{eventtype?}', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'getproduct2']);
Route::get('/products/search/{query}/{itemtype?}/{itemcategory?}', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'findproduct']); //getproduct
Route::post('/products/findproductbyid/{product_id}', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'getproduct']);
Route::post('/products/create', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'setproduct']);
Route::post('/products/update', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'putproduct']);
And it shows up the URL list also
but when I access it (findproductbyid) in the browser it is not getting picked up. it shows the results of /products/{currency_id}/{type}/{eventtype}
Please tell me to know why is it so? I tried clearing Laravel cache, etc.
Thanks in advance
UPDATE: I tried changing the GET to POST, but it seems it is not getting updated to POST
You don't define url parameters with $, here you done {$product_id}
Change it to the following.
Route::get('/products/findbyproductid/{product_id}', [...]);
Rearrange the routes like this and try it out
Route::post('/products/findproductbyid/{product_id}', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'getproduct']);
Route::get('/products/search/{query}/{itemtype?}/{itemcategory?}', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'findproduct']); //getproduct
Route::get('/products/{currency_id?}/{type?}/{eventtype?}', [Controllers\ProductsController::class, 'getproduct2']);

I have a working Laravel project with loads of different routes.
I'm currently testing it and one of my tests was to check if a user were to use a delete or post route from the URL. I didn't know what the application would do honestly and it outputted the typical:
The GET method is not supported for this route. Supported methods: DELETE
which I have seen a million times. Is there a way to stop this error from coming up and instead output an error screen or simply redirect to a different view?
The error message:
The GET method is not supported for this route. Supported methods: DELETE.
should only appear when your Laravel site has APP_DEBUG set to true (in the .env file).
When APP_DEBUG is set to false as it should always be in on a live site, then the user will be shown a 404 error page instead.
You can easily test this by adding the following code to your routes file:
Route::delete('test', function() {
return 'You should never see this text when viewing url via a GET request';
});
May be u didn't noticed but ur form tag method attribute and route definition is different
I need to update a website from a colleague to just add a LDAP connexion.
I use EasyPHP devserver 17.0 with php 7.1.3 and MySQL 5.7.17.
I've read a lot of docs etc to be started and to recover the site in local as it is working actually.
Everything was working so I began to add a login form etc... but when I tried to test a link from the website, it return me the error "Sorry, the page you are looking for could not be found". So I began to search on forums I found some results about routes etc and everything I've tested didn't worked.
So, I decide to use the backup from the website as it was when I juste restore it in local(I precise link to other page and everything was working). I check the link and again, "Sorry, the page you are looking for could not be found". I decide to try another developement tool and download XAMP, exactly same error. I tried with Wamp, Laragon always same error.
In the apache conf mod_rewrite is enabled.
My laravel framework version is: 5.5.39
So my folder look like:
Laravel 5.5.39
The content of routes > web.php:
Route::get('/', function () {

Auth::routes();
I don't know what I could do but please ask me if you need more information to help me.
If it can help; gitLab link from the site I'm trying to restore: https://gitlab.com/balsigergil/btplan
To fix the problem I had to change the VirutalHost DocumentRoot so the root is the public directory.
DocumentRoot "C:/Users/sadm-m263733/Desktop/EasyPHP-Devserver-17/eds-www/siteBTPlan/public"
I am using Laravel 5.0 and been developing on this project for months without any problems. I just added a new route with a new method in the controller. But whatever I do, all these new entries in the routes.php file show me a blank page.
In my routes.php:
Route::get('dashboard/product_categories/testing', 'ProductCategoriesController#testing');
In the ProductCategoriesController.php:
public function testing() {
die('Hello world!');
}
This happens to all new entries in the routes.php. No matter what controller its pointed to.
I do not use route:cache so am clueless where this problem stems from
Please note: This is an unchanged project. The httpd server is running as it should and the storage folders have read/write permissions
If you have a resource controller for the dashboard try to add the new routes before the resource.
I totally forgot about this question, but I found the solution: php artisan route:clear
For me, none of the answers helped.
My problem was with two routes matching each other.
A sample of my web.php file is below:
Route::get('user/{user}', 'UserController#show');
Route::get('user/restore, 'UserController#restore');
It took me a while to realise what was happening here.
Despite the fact that $user was typecast in my controller to an instance of User; I just assumed that the string restore would not match that route.
In the end, I realised that the string restore was being passed as a parameter to the route above and was, therefore, failing to match a User model.
To solve this I had to change the route to the following:
Route::get('user/{user}', 'UserController#show')->where('user', '\d+');
Route::get('user/restore, 'UserController#restore');
Now only numbers are matched to that route and the restore route works as expected.
The other solution would be to change the order but I didn't want to do that.
Try clearing the cache:
php artisan cache:clear
Try deleting this before public function methods :
#return \Illuminate\Http\Response
I built my application using Angularjs on the frontend and Laravel 5 at the backend, however my main issue now is routing, when the page is loaded initially I set it to return my angular.php view I even added some code to catch all routes and return that view for me.
This does not work in all cases:
routes.php
Route::any('{url?}', function($url) {
return view('angular');
})->where(['url' => '[-a-z0-9/]+']);
Example of a URL that works with this is:
http://localhost:8000/tickets/events/catgeories/
Example of a URL that does not work with this is:
http://localhost:8000/tickets/events/Musical/Some-event-name
By "not working" I mean Laravel throws a NotFoundHttpException. What I am thinking right now is the above route can't go past three levels/parameters as in /level-1/level-2/level-3.
What am I doing wrong here?
Maybe because second URL has uppercase characters?
In a Laravel 4 installation, Using Jeffrey Way's Laravel 4 Generators, I set up a 'tweet' resource, using the scaffolding command from his example:
php artisan generate:scaffold tweet --fields="author:string, body:text"
This generated the model, view, controller, migration and routing information for the tweet type. After migrating the database, visiting http://localhost:8000/tweets works fine, and shows the expected content.
The contents of the routes.php file at this point is:
Route::resource('tweets', 'TweetsController');
Now I would like to move the url for tweets up one level into admin/tweets, so the above url should become: http://localhost:8000/admin/tweets. Please note that I am not treating 'Admin' as a resource, but instead just want to add it for hypothetical organizational purposes.
Changing the routes.php file to:
Route::resource('admin/tweets', 'TweetsController');
Does not work, and displays the following error:
Unable to generate a URL for the named route "tweets.create" as such route does not exist.
Similarly when using the following:
Route::group(array('prefix' => 'admin'), function() {
Route::resource('tweets', 'TweetsController');
});
As was suggested in this stackoverflow question.
Using php artisan routes reveals that the named routes also now have admin prefixed to them, turning tweets.create into admin.tweets.create.
Why is the error saying that it cannot find tweets.create? shouldn't that automatically be resolved (judging by the routes table), to use admin.tweets.create?
How can I change my routing so that this error no longer occurs?
I just tested with new resource controller and it works fine for me.
The problem is not with the Route, its with the named routes used in your application.
check your view files there are link to route like link_to_route('tweets.create', 'Add new tweet'), this is creating the error because when you add admin as prefix tweets.create doesn't exists so change it to admin.tweets.create every where, in your controller also where ever named route is used.
