Unable to configure server for deploying rules using IBM ODM - websphere

I followed this YouTube video
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dIJ-VLkuw0s
at 10:15 min, they have added "http://localhost:9080/res" as server URL
when I tried the same , I got below error
The location "http://localhost::9080/" is not a valid file system path: : is an invalid character in resource name 'localhost::9080'.
I downloaded WebSphere from https://www.ibm.com/support/pages/websphere-liberty-developers
WebSphere Liberty Web Profile 8 21.0.0.4 file(93MB)
unzipped the downloaded file
I ran server from location by running bat file from location
C:\Users\vaageesh\wlp-webProfile8-21.0.0.4\wlp\bin\server.bat
still when I added "http://localhost:9080/res" as server URL
Target servers tab in
"Create Deployment configuration" step, its throwing error
could you guide me exactly how to configure server and pre-requisites needed to deploy rules on this server with configurations we have done

you need to unselect "Local Rule ...." to have a proper wizard that is relative to Web deploiement.
The screenshot you are mentioning is about local directory folder deploiement.
See picture.

Archive Installation for "Web Server Plug-ins for IBM WebSphere Application Server V9.0" instead of IM

I want to install the "Web Server Plug-ins for IBM WebSphere Application Server V9.0" without the IBM InstallationManager just with an archive file.
The archive installation was already possible for the "IBM HTTP Server V9.0" from e.g.: https://ak-delivery04-mul.dhe.ibm.com/sar/CMA/WSA/086do/0/9.0.0-WS-IHS-ARCHIVE-linux-x86_64-FP011.zip and just run the postinstall.sh. But for the aforementioned Web Server plugin, I cannot find an archive to download.
Does anyone know if such an Installation is possible?
The "IHS" archive install includes the WAS Plug-in files you need for IHS in a plugins/ sub-directory off the root. No 2nd download is required.
If you need the WAS WebServer Plug-ins for some other webserver, the IM install is your only option.

How to find WebSphere 8.5 Admin console URL in Linux

I installed WebSphere 8.5 on Redhat Linux using the below steps.
1. Unzip the installation kit (WAS_V8.5_1_OF_3.zip, WAS_V8.5_2_OF_3.zip & WAS_V8.5_3_OF_3.zip)
2. Login as normal user
3. Navigate to the folder WLP/wlp-8500.jar
4. Install thru Running: 'java -jar wlp-8500.jar'
5. Follow the steps and complete installation (all comand line)
6. Move to wlp folder
7. Create server instance thru Moving to bin folder and Run 'server create <serverName>'
7. Start server thru Running 'server start <serverName>'
8. Check the server status thru Running 'server status <serverName>'
After this setup I created and started the server. It is up and running.
I dont know how to login to Admin console. I tried different URLs and ports nothing is working.
http://localhost:9060/ibm/console
http://localhost:9080/ibm/console
How to find the Admin Console URL or Port no?
You have installed WebSphere Liberty Profile (wlp) not the full (aka classic) WebSphere Application Server. WebSphere Liberty doesn't have full administrative console like classic one. You have only simplified adminCenter feature, which must be installed separately.
The Admin Center is a web user interface that runs on Liberty profile V8.5.5.2 and later servers, since you have 8.5.0.0 version looking at your log, you will have to install later version to see it.

If you want full administrative console, you have to use Installation Manager and install WebSphere Application Server, not the Liberty profile.
I can only tell you the default ports you may have changed them:
http : 9060
https: 9043
To find the exact port:
Open WC_profiledir/logs/AboutThisProfile.txt
Look for lines similar to the following:
Administrative console port: 9102
Administrative console secure port: 9104

websphere not starting with error ADMU7704E

I created websphere server. I was able to launch my application with it. However after I enable the debugging , the server is not starting. I am getting the following error
"ADMU7704E: Failed while trying to start the Windows Service associated with
server: server1; probable error executing WASService.exe"
On some sites a workaround was to delete server.pid file but I am not seeing any such files in the location.
Please suggest
The first thing to test is to disable the WAS Windows service from Windows Services Panel and then try to start server using command line ie startserver.bat
You run this command from PROFILE_HOME/bin. if this starts fine, you can recreate the service using wasservicecmd
http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21397335
If the manual startup fails , please check if any logs created under PROFILE_HOME/logs// Check for any error messages in SystemOut.log, SystemErr.log , native_stderr and native_stdout logs.
PROFILE_HOME is home directory of WAS profile.

Missing conf directory on windows 32 bit neo4j 1.9.4 community edition installation on remote connection

Im trying to follow http://docs.neo4j.org/chunked/1.9.4/server-configuration.html in order to setup the server to accept external connections (org.neo4j.server.webserver.address=0.0.0.0 on conf/neo4j-server.properties according to that docs).
I downloaded the installer from here http://www.neo4j.org/download_thanks?edition=community&release=1.9.4&platform=windows&packaging=exe&architecture=x32. Note that this is an installer not a archive(rar, bz or whatever).
The "conf" directory does not appear. I have been working around (pass vm arguments at the startup etc but im going nowhere). Until now i have found:
C:\Documents and Settings[myuser]\Datos de
programa\neo4j-community.vmoptions[file]
C:\Documents and
Settings\xp\Datos de programa\Neo4j Community[direcory with a logs
subdirectory]
C:\Documents and Settings[myuser]\Mis
documentos\Neo4j\default.graphdb[directory for default graphdb i
think, here is a neo4j.properties files, is this the
neo4j-server.properties files that docs tell me?]
C:\Archivos de programa\Neo4j Community[directory with
.install4j,bin,jre(i dont have java installed on system)
subdirectories]
The bin folder on C:\Archivos de programa\Neo4j Community just contain:
- neo4j-community.exe
- neo4j-community.vmoptions
- neo4j-community-user-vmoptions.loc
- neo4j-desktop-1.9.4.jar
As you could see there is nothing here like the so mentioned (on docs) Neo4j.bat.
My neo4j server its running perfectly. Even i played a while with the so fun webadmin on localhost:7474. But when i needed to connect from a ubuntu pc and went to docs for help run into the misterious case of missing conf directory.
Are this docs not related to community edition or at least not to the windows 1.9.4 installer?
Right now i just need to connect from a external client, not localhost, but tomorrow i could want to fly in a cow and i suspect for that i will need the conf directory. Any help, in the particular case of remote connection to neo4j server or the general case of missing conf directory will be appreciated.
PS.I found neo4j community V1.9.4 - how to configure IP address and default database location? just a few seconds before i finished to write this. Where i could download the distribution and not the installer? In the official site dont seems to be more choices tan 32/64 bit installer???
If you want to download the distribution, you can download from here
http://www.neo4j.org/download/other_versions
In community version if you notice, there will be option to download "Installer" or "Binary"
just download the binary package and extract, everything (including conf folder) are inside that.
Btw, If you using the window installer, Neo4J will provide you with user-friendly GUI, if you notice, there will be "Settings.." button there for you to configure your server,
To change the server address for ex, you need to modify neo4j-server.properties
Configuration will be the same, just the location of the config file is different.

Not able to web deploy to ec2 instance

I am trying to web deploy to a ec2 instance using the msbuild
C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\msbuild.exe
/p:Configuration=Release;MsDeployServiceUrl=ec2-instance
name.compute.amazonaws.com:8172/msdeploy.axd;MSDeployPublishMethod=RemoteAgent;username="adminuser";password="password";DeployIisAppPath=Sitename;CreatePackageOnPublish=true;DeployOnBuild=true;DeployTarget=WebPublish
"my.Web.csproj"
I get a

.Publishing.targets(3847,5): error : Web deployment task failed.(Could not comp
lete the request to remote agent URL ':8172/msdeploy.axd/MSDEPLOYAGENTSERVICE'.) This error indicates that you cannot connect
to the server. Make sure the service URL is correct, firewall and network sett
ings on this computer and on the server computer are configured properly, and t
he appropriate services have been started on the server.

ublishing.targets(3847,5): error : Could not complete the request to remote age
nt URL ':8172/msdeploy.a
xd/MSDEPLOYAGENTSERVICE'.
I have
1.Open ports in security group for 8172
2.Reinstalled web deploy 3 in target
3.Made a admin user and using that
Help would be really appreciated.
The URL its using is incorrect. Since you are publishing over the web you are using web management service and hence the url should be in either one of the following formats:
Publishing as an admin:
https://myserver.com:8172/msdeploy.axd
If you are publishing as an owner of one site on the server and have permissions just to your own site then:
https://myserver.com:8172/msdeploy.axd?site=<sitename>
