I want to do something seemingly simple in livewire. I want to set the value of a hidden input field based on an attribute from a button that's clicked. I can console.log the ID I'm looking for, and it works. I can see that the value of the input is updated in the UI, however, it's updated to what appears to be the Livewire hash or ID of the element. I just want the regular id. Am I doing this wrong?

Maybe I'm not thinking about this in a livewire-y way, but this is something I've done countless times in the past.
If I console.log the status I get a number, like 2, for example.
But when I look at the markup, the value of the input is like this:

I was wanting to do this without a round-trip to the server since it's just a simple thing.
Change your code from this

I want to use a list element for drop-down select menu but it implemented everywhere with model. I use Spring I want the user to select items from a static list.
There are some use like
<form:select path="...." items=$(......)>
but it needs a model for items as I understood. Also I don't want to post anything I just need the value of the select menu and I will do everything with JS. How can I achieve this?

it's a hard way to solve your question. instead of this you can create a model for form.
I'm building a view with Thymeleaf templates, which contains a form that provides a way to bind the value of my inputs with the attributes passed in the model. The backend was developed using Spring 4.
The following snippet includes an autocomplete datalist with the data of the namelist object, which was added to the model as an attribute. Said namelist is an ArrayList of a class with the fields int id and String name.

The value of the selected option is already bound to example.num.id, which is the expected and desired behaviour. However, when loading the view on a web browser (tested on latest Firefox and Chrome), it is represented like this:
As you can see, the id's are showing. However, I'm trying to emulate the behaviour of a <select>; the value should not be shown, just the text or label.
Is there a better way to achieve this? Am I not using the datalist properly?

With the input inside the label tag. But the problem is that Dusk (actually Facebook Webdriver) is not able to find it this way. It keeps raising:
Facebook\WebDriver\Exception\ElementNotVisibleException: element not visible
To make it work I have put the input outside the label, but then, of course, the boostrap radio does not show as it should anymore.

Does not work using IDs either:
Not even setting an ID to the input:

And trying to select it this way:

The problem is that Dusk (Webdriver) cannot even see the element in the page, as this simple like fails the exact same way:
$browser->waitFor('#sitesActive3');
Resulting in:
Facebook\WebDriver\Exception\TimeOutException: Waited 5 seconds for selector [#sitesActive3].
And that happens every time I have a form with an input with a label surrounding it, if I take the input out of the label, it works. But that's not as simple with radios, as it was with some other inputs, radios.

You may not be happy to edit your views for the sake of your test script but if you are open to that, what about adding a class to the
<input type="radio" ... >
and then using
->click('.yourClass')
in your Dusk test?
The Dusk docs say:
To "select" a radio button option, you may use the radio method. Like many other input related methods, a full CSS selector is not required. If an exact selector match can't be found, Dusk will search for a radio with matching name and value attributes: $browser->radio('version', 'php7');
In my case, Dusk was working fine for most of my radio buttons, but it would not work for:

I also tried using double-quotes, but that didn't work either. (Maybe the value is too long? I don't know.)

I want to make textarea empty and Not to have the value from Model. I don't see any value property on this textarea.
Is it possible to have textarea mapped to #Model.Property but Not display it?
I'll be using this textarea for POST only and I don't want to display anything for GET. But I want to have other properties fetched so that's why I need the model in GET.
I also tried to change the Model property in controller before sending, but this model is a part of a DBSet and if I modify in controller then the DBSet gets affected.
Javascript is another option but I want to avoid that.
I had a look at How to overwrite one model property in ASP.Net core but this is not convincing.
