I am trying to create a shell script for auditing purpose. In my source data the value of month contains like yyyym(20217) format. I need to extract the records based on this month type.
is there any dateformat to print like this in Unix?

you should use ORDER BY in your sql request. And should format date in milliseconds before pass it into database. Then, when you called data in recycler view use SimpleDateFormat for formatting date into dd/mm/yyyy. For current date use Calendar.getInstance.getDateInMillis
Requirement: I need to sort an input file based on Date.
The date is in YYYYMMDD format starting at 56th Position in the flat file.
Now, the I am trying to write a sort card which writes all the records that have the date(YYYYMMDD) in the past 7 Days.
Example: My job is running on 20181007, it should fetch all the records that have date in between 20181001 to 20181007.

In terms of DFSort you can use the following filter to select the current date as a relative value. For instance:
OUTFIL INCLUDE=(56,8,CH,GE,DATE1-7)
There are several definitions for Dates in various formats. I assume that since you are referring to a flat file the date is in a character format and not zoned decimal or other representation.

I ran an SQL Query for Oracle which consists of Invoice date and Check date. When these data are copied on to an Excel Spreadsheet as text, it's dispayed as ex: "13-10-31" (Oct 31, 2013). However, when converted to date format, it's displayed as "10/13/1931". I've tried different date types but it always recognizes as the first part of the text as the day, then month, then year. I need these values to be setup as a date format as I need to calculate Days Payable Outstanding and other related ratios.
Is there any way to convert these values so that Excel recognizes the day, month, and year correctly? Would there be a macro that could automate this process for existing data and data that will be added in the future?

Firstly, I hope the data type of your date column is DATE.
Secondly, the date should always have year as YYYY and not just YY. The world has already learned from Y2K bug.
If above two points are met, then while displaying use to_char(date_column, 'mm/dd/yyyy'). Thus, with YYYY format, there won't be any confusion between year and other fields.
I have a table of data which have date and time as two separate field where date format is
dd/mm/yyyy and dd-mm-yyyy and time format is like hh:mm:ss(eg: 6:52:53)
i need to filter the record for a particular time period that both time and date wise filtering.

Hive does recognize certain strings as unixtime dates.
You might try a where condition while concatenating the time & date together into unixtime format.

I suppose you have one column having two date format ie. dd/mm/yyyy and dd-mm-yyyy
What You can try
1) Replacing '/' to '-' so that complete column will be in dd-mm-yyyy format.
2) Try concatanating this field with time field
3) filter it by Casting concatinated field.

You can parse the string into a date with an xpath function such as date:date(string) (described in this question).
Today's date already in xml date format is supplied by fn:current-date() (see here)
You can get the value, sore it in a variable, and then compare it. Eg:
storeText //xpath/goes/here myDate
storeEval (new Date(storedVars['myDate']) > new Date()) isAfterToday
Note, the storedVars array holds all the variables.
new Date should parse most formats, otherwise you can use any javascript in the storeEval stage to reformat it.
