Unable to load ppt addins - powerpoint

I am unable to load a ppt-addin to my ppt. When trying to add, it is throwing in this error [See Pic].
It doesn't make any sense, as the file is indeed there in the location.

Microsoft Visual Studio unable to start program assemblyx86

So I've been having this problem for a while it is usually a hit or miss. Sometimes I get the error, sometimes I don't.
I'm working on assembly x86 and everytime when I try to create a new project for .asm files, I get an error of the following
Unable to start program
...\Debug\DefaultProjectname.exe
The system cannot find the file specified
These are steps I use to make a file
Create project
Build MASM dependencies
Link Irvine library in additional dependencies
I'm able to build solution so that is kinda weird
Also, I'm trying to find a way that allow me to skip all the steps above and copy the default template

TFS "source server" (appears to) not work

I am trying to debug a small application that deliberately throws an exception in a dependent library. I built the code for both, but I am debugging on a workstation that I did not use to build the dependent library. I have a step in my small build process to Index Sources and Publish Symbols (using the vNext build system) for the dependent library.
I want to be able to debug and step into the code of the dependent library. My expectation is that the indexing information stamped into the pdb file will allow the acquisition of the source code files "on the fly".
The pdb file successfully uploads to the source server during the vNext build, and the pdb file is successfully loaded from the symbol cache directory I've specified in visual studio according to Debug -> Windows -> Modules.
My application throws an exception deliberately so the debugger will have something to break into. When it does, I see the code that is throwing in the stack trace, so I know the symbols are loading correctly. When I double click on that entry in the stack trace, I am not taken to the source.
Due to the indexing information, I would have expected Visual Studio to get the source, but I am shown a file browse dialog. Note, I am using Visual Studio 2017.
Here is the indexing information in the pdb file (which shows the pdb was indexed correctly):
------------------------------------------------
VERSION=3
INDEXVERSION=2
VERCTRL=Team Foundation Server
DATETIME=Thu Mar 08 15:58:40 2018
INDEXER=TFSTB
SRCSRV: variables ------------------------------------------
TFS_EXTRACT_CMD=tf.exe view /version:%var4% /noprompt "$%var3%" /server:%fnvar%(%var2%) /console > %SRCSRVTRG%
TFS_EXTRACT_TARGET=%targ%\%var2%%fnbksl%(%var3%)\%var4%\%fnfile%(%var5%)
SRCSRVVERCTRL=tfs
SRCSRVERRDESC=access
SRCSRVERRVAR=var2
VSTFSSERVER=REDACTED
SRCSRVTRG=%TFS_EXTRACT_TARGET%
SRCSRVCMD=%TFS_EXTRACT_CMD%
SRCSRV: source files ---------------------------------------
C:\Resources\agent\_work\6\s\REDACTED\AppDomainLogger.cs*VSTFSSERVER*/REDACTED/AppDomainLogger.cs*77776*AppDomainLogger.cs
C:\Resources\agent\_work\6\s\REDACTED\CustomLogger.cs*VSTFSSERVER*/REDACTED/CustomLogger.cs*77776*CustomLogger.cs
SRCSRV: end ------------------------------------------------
Note, I have REDACTED some information, it is just pathing information I don't want to reveal, and a server name, but they are correct. If the VSTSSERVER value and source code values are correct, why isn't the source code pulled up when I try to debug. I'm not sure what those numbers are in the source code paths, and I didn't see any login credentials to log into the tfs server. However, since I'm already connected to TFS by virture of using visual studio, I thought perhaps credentials aren't needed? My build process curently does not label source .... could that be part of the problem?
I am a bit new at this (trying to use source information during debugging). Let me know if I'm missing something, and if I am, how I can remedy the situation.
I DO have the Debug -> Options -> General -> Enable Source Server Support checked (and it's two sub-checkboxes) prior to attaching visual studio to the application.

C++ project using Windows Event Log

I´m trying to learn the concept of writing events to Windows Event Log using Manifest and I followed the documentation provided by Microsoft.
I´ll describe the steps I took and where it went wrong. Hopefully someone can tell me whats missing or what I'm doing wrong.
Created a Instrumentation Manifest using ECManGen.exe proving information about the provider (C++ Console application), e.g. path to .exe-file. Created channels for all the type (Debug, Administration, Operational, and Analytic). Finally created an event that I
later wanted to write to log. (Also created Tasks and Keywords to organize the Event).
Created a new project in Visual Studio 2013 (C++ Console Application) and included the Manifest (.man) file.
Changed the build settings for the Manifest file to Custom build tool and set command line to mc -v -h . "%(FullPath)" and output to %(Filename).rc;%(Filename).h;.
I then built the project with no problems generating the .rc-file, .h-file, and .bin-files.
After the build I included the all the files to the project generated in Step 4 and rebuild. The rebuild generated the .res-file out of the .rc-file and the resource tab looks like this:
Project
-Manifest.rc
-11
The last step was to register the provider with wevtutil im Manifest.man and this is where I get the error. I received the following error:
Warning: Publisher GGSProvider resources are not accessible.
Failed to open metadata for publisher GGSEventManifest.man. The system cannot find the file specified.
Does anyone see what is wrong or can provide a simple step-by-step guide?
Thanks for any contribution!
The resourceFileName and messageFileName attributes in your manifest file must point to the full path of your dll. You cannot use environment variables in that path.
See http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/desktop/dd996926(v=vs.85).aspx.
I did the following steps but with an DLL-project and it works fine. Can someone explain this behavior?
The next task is to create an event!

Run Custom Tool at build in VS

I'm creating an internal VS template to create new versions of a multilingual website with custom fields filled by a wizard. All is going well, until I try and run the program. Upon running, I receive...
Could not find any resources appropriate for the specified culture or the neutral culture. Make sure "<My Namespace>.Global.resources" was correctly embedded or linked into assembly "<My program>" at compile time, or that all the satellite assemblies required are loadable and fully signed.
If I open up the resx files and save them, or choose to run a custom tool before building, it works fine, but if I try to build immediately after creating the project, I receive that error.
My settings on all of my resx files are...
Build Action - Embedded Resource
Copy to Output Directory - Do not coopy
Custom Tool - PublicResXFileCodeGenerator
Custom Tool Namespace - <My Namespace>
Mostly, I'm just looking for a way to run the custom tool at build. This does need to work as I've described it. This is a large company, and non-programmers/non-experts work here.
Thanks in advance,
Andrew

Ambiguous dll parser error when trying to debug a project

I'm getting the following error when I try to debug my MVC solution:
Parser Error
Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.
Parser Error Message: The type 'HandiGamer.MvcApplication' is ambiguous: it could come from assembly 'C:\Users\Kevin\documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\HandiGamer\HandiGamer\bin\HandiGamer.DLL' or from assembly 'C:\Users\Kevin\documents\visual studio 2010\Projects\HandiGamer\HandiGamer\bin\HandiGamer.WebUI.DLL'. Please specify the assembly explicitly in the type name.
Source Error:
Line 1: <%# Application Codebehind="Global.asax.cs" Inherits="HandiGamer.MvcApplication" Language="C#" %>
Source File: /global.asax Line: 1
This is the first time I've encountered this error with my project. All I've changed since the last time I debugged it was a .master page, a view, and I added a couple ViewModel classes. My solution has two projects - HandiGamer.WebUI and HandiGamer.Domain - but I've never encountered an ambiguity issue with them before. Rebuilding my solution did nothing. I'm not sure what else to do.
Have you renamed you assembly recently? In this case it can be that the old DLL is still in your bin folder ...\Projects\HandiGamer\HandiGamer\bin and is being loaded on runtime. As the error message tells you, the DLLs
HandiGamer.DLL
HandiGamer.WebUI.DLL
both contain HandiGamer.MvcApplication so the parser cannot decide which of them to take and is getting a conflict when you try to run it (compiling usually works fine with no errors, the issue typically occurs during runtime).
To resolve this, delete them from the bin folder above manually, then rebuild the entire solution. Unfortunately, 'Clean Solution' does not always clean up everything correctly so you have to do it sometimes by yourself.
Hint: If you unload the project (in Visual Studio: right-click the project, then select "Unload..."), you can edit the project file afterwards in the text editor and then search for assemblies there (to do that, right-click again on the unloaded project, then select "Edit...").
It contains all the references you have specified - but be careful not to mess it up. After you have searched and found the information you were looking for, close it and re-load the project. This is usually much faster than going though all entries in the References section of your project.
It looks like the MvcApplication class is defined in both assemblies in the HandiGamer namespace. Try opening them with Reflector to confirm this by searching for this class name. Then remove the duplicate class by leaving it only in your ASP.NET MVC application assembly. The other project must be a class library, not a web application.
