Maybe this question doesn't belong here but I didn't know where else to ask. Is it possible to have chrome open and overlap another fullscreen game. For example I am on gta 5 and at the right top corner there is a chrome tab pinned there. Is this possible ?
Here is an edited photo of what I am trying to achieve. Link
This looks like something that AutoHotkey can do.
Try this script to toggle the AlwaysOnTop state of your chrome window before fullscreening your app:
;Alt+T = Toggle AlwaysOnTop state of the active window
!t::WinSet, AlwaysOnTop, Toggle, A
Source from the AHK forums
If you want to change Alt+T (!t) to be a different hotkey, take a look at the Hotkey section in the AHK documentation.

Maybe a stupid question. I'm new to TradingView and pine script, so please bear with me if there's some simple way to do this...
I figured out how to copy and modify a script from the library. At first, I could see a tiny edge of a window at the bottom of the script. When I saved or attempted to add the script to the chart, the window showed whether the script processed or had errors.
Now, though, I seem to have "lost" that window. How can I display that window? Also, once displayed, how can I make it larger?
Edit:
Here's a screenshot of the bottom of my editor -
Right-clicking on the console (errors) window showed a little pop-up saying:
While my cursor is in the editor window, holding Ctrl (or Cmd on a Mac) plus the backtick key toggles the console window open and closed.
Now, I can see the console log window whether I have errors or not.
you can show/hide the pane with pine scripts with the "_" icon on the right side:
show
hide
On the rigt side next to the "_" icon you can toggle/maximize the pine script window.
Add any error to your script and save the script.
In the lower left corner, you will see a small gray triangle.
Drag it up with the mouse.
The "Show console" was never visible in my browser. Only the "Toggle console", which did not do anything for me.
I tried a different browser and the console showed well. So I figure it was the browser I was using "Firefox".
So, I re-started Firefox, by going to Un-install Programs in Windows, clicking "Remove program", in front of the Firefox logo, which gave me the choice to restart Firefox. I did took that choice and this fixed the problem for me. I hope it helps others.
On Firefox, it may bug and never show it even with the shortcuts (because it becomes a tiny single-line that can't be dragged at the bottom of the page).
In order to fix it without uninstalling firefox: clean the site data for the domain.
I have a 3 monitor setup which is connected to a PC. It displays a Google Chrome tab on each of the screens with some dashboard. It will auto log off every night from the website (I cannot control that). So I need to manually login to it, open the tabs, then move it to each of the monitors every night. I am trying to automate this task. I am trying to use Sikuli slides to do it. Right now I am able to login, open tabs, and click on buttons. But I am not able to drag the tabs to other monitors. It doesn't matter which tab is displayed in which monitor. The PC is running Windows 7. How can I get it done ? Any scripting language or tool which is available in windows is fine. Thanks in advance.
Edit: Added an image which describes my need
You're opening the same thing on the same computer on the same screens, so it will be in the same place every time.
AutoHotKey (AHK) can do click-and-drag from a start coordinate to an end coordinate:
https://autohotkey.com/docs/commands/MouseClickDrag.htm
Run AutoHotKey, right click on the icon in the taskbar notification area (systray) and click 'Window Spy', and it will bring up AHK's helper tool. Now you can click on the Chrome tabs and look in AHK to see the coordinates of the mouse pointer, so you can plug those into the command. And drag/drop the browser and look at the mouse coordinates there, too.
(And if you weren't using Windows 7, but instead 8 or 8.1 or 10, you could use Aero Snap with Win+RightArrow, Win+RightArrow and Win+UpArrow to move the active window to the edge of the center screen, then to the right screen, then to fullscreen it).
(Or you could use Alt-Space, M, Arrow Keys to script moving the focused window around).
This is what I did to fix it:
Used MouseRecorder to record the mouse movements and keystrokes including my username and password. Using this, I logged in, opened tabs, clicked on buttons and moved them to different monitors.
Problem with this is that it is not possible to load a saved macro and run using the commandline (or I could not figure out). So I used Mouse Controller to record the mouse movement to open MouseRecorder and click on run. [It cannot record key strokes]. Mouse controller has option to run from commandline with ability to accept the filename as argument.
I wrote a batch file to open and run MouseRecorder and scheduled to run every night using task scheduler.
I've been trying to use FireFox as a simple window for a webpage that I will not be leaving, so I don't need the address-bar or close buttons, but I would like to keep my task bar visible (i.e. I do not want to simply go full screen). The gists of what I am trying to achieve is a "full window mode". Is there an add on that allows this? Preferably, I'd like an add on that can easily be turned on and off.
To elaborate, I may have the window only be half of the screen, so a full screen mode that leaves the task bar visible would not be sufficient.
You can come close to this with some simple JavaScript, just a bookmarklet, which will open the currently viewed URL in a window with most of the info/action bars hidden:
javascript:void(window.open(location.href,"_blank","outerWidth=1000,outerHeight=650,top=0,left=250,menubar=no,toolbar=no,location=no,personalbar=no,status=no"))
You can get close to maximized with specifying appropriate numbers for outerWidth=1000,outerHeight=650,top=0,left=250 which match your screen size, but you will not get quite what you can do when maximized.
You can then maximize the window. Which gives you:
Window.open requires chrome privileges in order to hide the titlebar and locationbar which means an add-on must do it. You can then use add-ons to get the rest of the way.
Using the Hide Caption Titlebar Plus add-on (with appropriate options selected) will get you to a maximized window of:
And with the addition of the add-on Hide Navigation Bar, maximized and hitting the default F2 to hide the locationbar you get:
Non-maximized:
You also asked that it provide removal of the various action/status/tool bars when not maximized. These add-ons will do so.
Easily turning them on and off:
Hide Navigation Bar only hides the location bar if you hit F2. Hide Caption Titlebar Plus is a restartless add-on and thus can be enabled/disabled at will from about:addons (Ctrl+Shift+A). It can also be set to mostly affect only maximized windows, so may not be something you need to enable/disable on a regular basis.
Personally, if this was something I wanted, I would set up a separate Firefox profile which has these add-ons and the home page as the one I wanted displayed. I would then set up a shortcut that automatically opens that page and shows what I want. You may need to use something like the add-on Session Manager to automatically restore the maximized window, but the default functionality in Firefox may be sufficient. In order to have a shortcut that brings up another Firefox profile automatically, you will need to set the Target to something like:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\firefox.exe" -no-remote -P "your profile name"
This would allow you to bring up the page you wanted with a single click and not have the configuration disturb your normal use of Firefox. It would also be something that you would not need to mess around with enabling/disabling on a regular basis.
Many ways to do this:
There are, probably, many different combinations of add-ons which will get you to a similar look. There is, perhaps, even a single one which will do so. You should do some research on your own to find a combination that works for you. For the profile I was initially using to test, I did not need the Hide Navigation Bar add-on to hide the locationbar as that functionality was covered in a different add-on. However, if starting with a stock profile these two add-ons will get you to where it sounds like you want to be.
Taskbar is visible:
For all of the above images: If I had taken a shot of my entire desktop, you would see that that the Windows Taskbar is still visible (the Firefox window is just maximized, not full-screen). The above images are not full-screen for privacy reasons. I do not desire to share the windows I have open and my taskbar configuration. If I have the time later, I will re-take the window shots as full-screen shots after a clean re-boot.
I want to be able to take screenshots of background applications while 1) making them appear active, and 2) not brining them to the foreground. Background windows have icons and title bars greyed out which is not ideal for taking a picture of your app.
I've been using SonOfGrab (https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/samplecode/SonOfGrab/Introduction/Intro.html) to capture screenshots, but it always shows all background applications as inactive (buttons, titlebar, etc. all greyed out).
Is there such a message that paints the window as active, but does not move it into the foreground?
For example here's an active Word:
Here's Word captured from Son of Grab:
Notice how all toolbar icons and title bar are no longer active. Looking to fix SonOfGrab to make these appear active, but without bringing the window to the foreground.
When a Windowed Application has the focus, it's immediately moved into the foreground.
You can make your app be like when it's in the foreground (design), but the "focus" can be given only once.
To take screenshots of apps looking active, run and keep your app in the foreground, like iTunes does with its "Mini Player" :
Take a look at setLevel: in NSWindow Class' Apple Documentation.
You can use these values in argument.
i.e, iTunes uses a thing like
window.level = Int(CGWindowLevelForKey(Int32(kCGMaximumWindowLevelKey)))
but, if you don't use swift, take a look on the links I gave and make some tests depending on what you want.
Then, run your app, open the app you wanna take a screenshot, and both will looks like "in the foreground".
Press Cmd + Shift + 4, then press space, and select the window you'd like to use.
Cheers!
Photoshop CS2 always stay on top, even when I click another app from the windows taskbar (right of the start button).
It's completly annoying me. Always need minimized, click the other app, reclick again on photoshop, re-reminimized.
I only have 1 screen at work so I can't let photoshop on one screen and work with the other app on the other screen.
I look in all photoshop menu, find nothing
I googled the problem, and find a adobe page explain this problem is a "feature".
I only want photoshop cs2 work all other app on windows and loose focus, let new app appear on top.
Thank you.
I had this problem and somehow solved it. But my solution may be just as fickle as why the problem occurs in the first place. But here's what I did:
On the layers palette (F7) I clicked on the small arrow just below the close "X" button, on the right. Then I selected "Pallete Options"
Didn't change any options but just clicked OK.
Now the entire window remained on top, not just the palettes. So I restarted Photoshop and it seemed to fix the issue.
I found that if you open up "edit > preferences > Memory & Image Cache" and set your memory usage up then it will fix it. I am on a Windows 10.

I literally JUST found this on accident and fixed it after having issues with all my toolbars being hidden behind stuff, and not being able to minimize without clicking on the PS window first etc. Seems to have worked!
Topmost Toggle will help you: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Desktop-Enhancements/Other-Desktop-Enhancements/TopmostToggle.shtml
Works for CS2 even in Win8
Try Topmost Toggle. Works on Window 7, Window 8 and even Windows 8.1. I use it for disabling Photoshop CS2 and when Firefox bug out. Works like a charm and it's pretty easy to use:
Download and extract Topmost Toggle
Run the program - you will see that it minimize on tray
Ctr + Right click on your program and click
Enjoy!
Big thanks to user2761076
I am having same issue with CS2 on Windows 7 64 bit. To work around, I hit tab on keyboard when photoshop window is active, that makes all pallets invisible, then I can switch to any window I need to work on.
As per this article there seem to be issue with Microsoft update https://forums.adobe.com/thread/2142314
