Visual Studio - Cannot Read Configuration File - visual-studio

When I try to run IIS Express for any project on visual studio, sometimes the following error dialog appears:
[Microsoft Visual Studio]
The following error occurred when trying to configure IIS Express for project Accounts.web.Host. Filename: redirection.config
Error: Cannot read configuration file
I have tried most common answers on
Cannot read configuration file due to insufficient permissions. Is there a standard approach to how I solve this issue?

Right click on your project file
Edit the project file and remove the URL from IISUrl
Reload your project
Then it will work.

Azure devops failing to build visual studio sql database project: SSDT\Microsoft.Data.Tools.Schema.SqlTasks.targets" was not found

I have a sql database project in Visual Studio (2019).
I am trying to deploy it via azure devops.
The pipeline is failing due to the below error:
##[error]C:\azagent\A1_work\r1\a_Transcripts-SQLDeployment\SampleDatabaseProject\SampleDatabaseProject\SampleDatabaseProject.sqlproj(117,3): Error MSB4019: The imported project "C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v11.0\SSDT\Microsoft.Data.Tools.Schema.SqlTasks.targets" was not found. Confirm that the path in the declaration is correct, and that the file exists on disk
The project builds without issue on my pc.
In the pipeline I have tried both the MSBuild and Visual Studio Build tasks, but the result is the same in each case.
Steps tried:
I found the reference in the sqlproj file xml, and removed it but this did not resolve the issue.
Appreciate any expertise on how to resolve this.

The code execution cannot proceed because CONCRT140D.dll wasn't found. Reinstalling the program may fix this probllem

I am doing some work on Microsoft Visual Studio hen I run the code. I get the only one error which is:
enter image description here
Error of missing the CONCRT140D.dll file.
The thing is I tried to download CONCRT140D.dll but at the end, the file I found is CONCRT140.dll which isn't the requirement to resolve the error.

Build SSIS project with Visual Studio 2013

I have to automate the way we build and deploy our SSIS projects.
We use VS2013, SQLSERVER2014 and TFS2015. I'm already aware of two solutions:
1) MSBuild: I followed this blog https://speaksql.wordpress.com/2013/06/07/a-journey-to-db-deployment-automaton-ssis-build-using-msbuild/ and it works fine for VS2010 but unfortunately not for VS2013.
The error I'm getting is:
Project "SSISTest\SSISTest\SSIS.MSBuild.proj" on node 1 (SSISBuild target(s)).
SSISBuild:**************Building SSIS project: ..\SSISTest\SSISTest.dtproj for onfiguration: Development**************

2) devenv: works fine but our projects are all protected with a password, and everytime you try to build it prompts the dialog to insert the password.
Is there any other way I can automate this in VS2013?
I'll answer myself. After adding the proper dll references (expecially the Microsoft.SqlServer.ManageDTS one) for VS2013 to the http://sqlsrvintegrationsrv.codeplex.com/SourceControl/latest project, generating the .dll allowing MSBuild to build SSIS project as suggested by https://speaksql.wordpress.com/2013/06/07/a-journey-to-db-deployment-automaton-ssis-build-using-msbuild/, worked just fine. I'm now able to automatically build SSIS projects with MSBuild and deploy them to a SQL Server 2014 instance.

Why am I getting an Error 1309 : Error reading from file..... when attempting to use a .msi generated by InstallShield in VS 2013?

Error 1309 : Error reading from file.....
I am using VS2013 - with latest download of InstallShield Limited Edition
From VS2013 -> Solution Explorer -> Installshield Project -> Uninstall/Install: everything is fine.
If I run the installer file (right click .msi file->uninstall/install) from the directory it is compiled in everything is fine.
If I copy the .msi file anywhere else I get the above error UNLESS I copy the 'program files' directory that is also created in the DISK1 folder of installshield project.
I thought this was all supposed to be packaged into 1 file (isn't that the purpose of InstallShield?)
This question was originally posted on the flexera forum, but no one seems to be responding to questions on that forum:
https://community.flexerasoftware.com/showthread.php?214260-Error-1309-Error-reading-from-file
Any thoughts on how to fix this?
Thanks,
JB
I have solved it. When you have your InstallShield LE project ready to Build, Go into Build, Configuration Manager and change the build to SingleImage. Next do a Build. When you navigate the folders to where the CD_ROM folder is, you will see a new folder called SingleImage. As you go through that you will find the single MSI file that contains all folders. No more issues with Error 1309.
Hope that helps.
You should also ensure that the 254 character limit for the files' local url is not exceeded

The TypeScript Compiler was given no files for compilation, so it will skip compiling

When i am trying to Build my default JavaScript project(BlankApp Apache Cordova) in Visual Studio 2015 preview am getting following error.
The TypeScript Compiler was given no files for compilation, so it will skip compiling.
Steps Taken in visual studio 2015 preview:
File -> New -> Project -> Apache Cordova apps(under Javascript templates).
Run the default project with Android Emulator.
Getting the following error.
Warning 2 The TypeScript Compiler was given no files for compilation, so it will skip compiling. C:\Program Files (x86)\MSBuild\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v12.0\TypeScript\Microsoft.TypeScript.targets 97 5 BlankCordovaApp4
This is a known issue in the CTP3 release. It sounds like you've created a JS-based project, and have not added any TypeScript files, and so of course there are no .ts (aka TypeScript) files passed to the compiler. Ideally the compiler wouldn't be run at all, but the warning is harmless, and everything else should otherwise be working.
You need to make sure that at least one of your TypeScript files is marked with the TypeScriptCompile build action.
If you click on the file and check the properties window in Visual Studio you will see the build action - it may be that they are all set to some other action.
Option 1:
Take Project offline, edit project, remove the following lines:
<Import
Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath32)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v$(VisualStudioVersion)\TypeScript\Microsoft.TypeScript.Default.props"
Condition="Exists('$(MSBuildExtensionsPath32)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v$(VisualStudioVersion)\TypeScript\Microsoft.TypeScript.Default.props')"/>
and
<Import
Project="$(MSBuildExtensionsPath32)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v$(VisualStudioVersion)\TypeScript\Microsoft.TypeScript.targets"
Condition="Exists('$(MSBuildExtensionsPath32)\Microsoft\VisualStudio\v$(VisualStudioVersion)\TypeScript\Microsoft.TypeScript.targets')"
/>
Option 2:
Change "AddTypeScriptReferencePath": true to false in Webessentials-Settings.json
It seems that there is no type script file available to compile. add a blank type script file under script folder and then compile, it should work.
This warning was driving me nuts with ASP.NET 5 (asp.net core 1). If you double click the warning you open the Microsoft.TypeScript.targets file. Delete the line with CompileTypeScript and the warning goes away. I'm assuming this prevents TypeScript from compiling normally, which is fine by me as I don't want it anyway.
<PropertyGroup>
<CompileDependsOn>
CompileTypeScript; <--- delete this line
$(CompileDependsOn);
</CompileDependsOn>
I had the same issue.
Mine was due to missing system variable to nodejs. Check your visual studio output. If it is not recognizing “node” command, add system variable.
Computer->right click-> properties -> advanced system settings -> Environment Variable
Check “path” under user variables and system variables
Add the nodejs path to it. Ie: C:\Program Files (x86)\nodejs
