Vaadin #PWA annotation not recognized - spring-boot

I'm working with Vaadin 14 and Springboot. I want to make a PWA, but #PWA annotation is simply not working as expected. I defined it in the Application.java:
#PWA(name = "Long name",
shortName = "Name",
offlinePath="offline.html",
offlineResources = "./images/icon.png",
description = "description")
But the install prompt does not appear. I cheked the Application tab in the DevTools, but neither the service worker nor the manifest is created.
I have made other PWAs previously, but this never happened... I don't know what is wrong here.

Your browser needs to access it from an HTTPS link. If you're on localhost, you can simulate this by going to chrome://flags/ search Insecure origins treated as secure and enter the url. For example:

Google gapi.auth2.getAuthInstance().isSignedIn().get() is always false when multiple google accounts

I am having a weird problem with google gapi auth. For some reason, the value for gapi.auth2.getAuthInstance().isSignedIn().get() is always returning false. This is my setup:
gapi.load("auth2", initAuth2);
initAuth2(){
gapi.auth2.init({
client_id: "xxxxx-yyyyy.apps.googleusercontent.com",
hosted_domain: "domain.com",
redirect_uri: "http://localhost:4200",
ux_mode: "redirect",
}).then(performAuth, error=>{
console.error(`Error initiating gapi auth2: ${error.details}`);
});
}
performAuth(googleAuth){
const isSignedIn = googleAuth.isSignedIn.get();
if(!isSignedIn){
googleAuth.signIn();
return;
}
const user = googleAuth.currentUser.get();
console.log(user);
}
I have two google workspace accounts sign in the same chrome profile. When I run this script, I get the prompt to select an account. No matter which one I choose, the flow just keeps looping. The reason for that is that the line const isSignedIn = googleAuth.isSignedIn.get(); is always returning false.
Things I've tried so far:
I thought that maybe the client_id was corrupted so I generated a new one. Same behaviour.
I though the GCP project was corrupted, so I created a new project with new credentials. Same behaviour.
Thought there was an issue with cookies, so I deleted and clear cookies and history. Same behaviour.
Thought is was related only to localhost so I deployed to the web. Same behaviour.
If I change the init options from ux_mode: "redirect" to ux_mode: "prompt". It works. However, that is not the desired experience. Also, if I only have one google workspace in the chrome profile, it works. Even more interesting... if I use a client id from an older project... it works! The problem is that the consent screen shows the wrong app name.
I know this question is similar to this one, however I feel it's different because none of the above troubleshooting works. Any insights?
There is a case for the exact same problem here, it is most likely a bug in the api set

Xamarin.Auth - Google authentication won't open in browser

I'm trying to do authentication on my Android application using Xamarin.Auth. Some time ago, Google made the policy that you cannot do this in an embedded web view (for totally valid reasons).
I'm trying to open the account authentication page in a browser, but keep getting the embedded web view. I understand that isUsingNativeUI needs to be true in the following code:
_auth = new OAuth2Authenticator(clientId, string.Empty, scope,
new Uri(Constant.AuthorizeUrl),
new Uri(redirectUrl),
new Uri(Constant.AccessTokenUrl),
null,
isUsingNativeUI = true);
At every point in my application, this always equals true.
Elsewhere, I have code that redirects to what should be a browser:
var authenticator = Auth.GetAuthenticator();
Intent intent = authenticator.GetUI(this);
this.StartActivity(intent);
Regardless, I keep getting a dreaded 403 disallowed_useragent error whenever I try to run the project. Is there another element to this that I'm missing?
To my knowledge, setting auth.IsUsingNativeUI = true in the constructor should dictate that it must open in a browser. I've been following this example to try and debug with no success. I even pulled the guy's repo down to my machine and ran it - the Intent variable at the moment of redirection is almost identical.
Could there be something stupid that I'm missing? What else might be going wrong?
I realize this is an old question, but I had the same issue.
You have to install version 1.5.0.3 of the Xamarin.Auth Nuget package. The newest one (version 1.7.0 right now) doesn't work. You'll have to also install the PCLCrypto nuget package in order to get that version to work.

Dynamically changing proxy in Firefox with Selenium webdriver

Is there any way to dynamically change the proxy being used by Firefox when using selenium webdriver?
Currently I have proxy support using a proxy profile but is there a way to change the proxy when the browser is alive and running?
My current code:
proxy = Proxy({
'proxyType': 'MANUAL',
'httpProxy': proxy_ip,
'ftpProxy': proxy_ip,
'sslProxy': proxy_ip,
'noProxy': '' # set this value as desired
})
browser = webdriver.Firefox(proxy=proxy)
Thanks in advance.
This is a slightly old question.
But it is actually possible to change the proxies dynamically thru a "hacky way"
I am going to use Selenium JS with Firefox but you can follow thru in the language you want.
Step 1: Visiting "about:config"
driver.get("about:config");
Step 2 : Run script that changes proxy
var setupScript=`var prefs = Components.classes["#mozilla.org/preferences-service;1"]
.getService(Components.interfaces.nsIPrefBranch);
prefs.setIntPref("network.proxy.type", 1);
prefs.setCharPref("network.proxy.http", "${proxyUsed.host}");
prefs.setIntPref("network.proxy.http_port", "${proxyUsed.port}");
prefs.setCharPref("network.proxy.ssl", "${proxyUsed.host}");
prefs.setIntPref("network.proxy.ssl_port", "${proxyUsed.port}");
prefs.setCharPref("network.proxy.ftp", "${proxyUsed.host}");
prefs.setIntPref("network.proxy.ftp_port", "${proxyUsed.port}");
`;
//running script below
driver.executeScript(setupScript);
//sleep for 1 sec
driver.sleep(1000);
Where use ${abcd} is where you put your variables, in the above example I am using ES6 which handles concatenation as shown, you can use other concatenation methods of your choice , depending on your language.
Step 3: : Visit your site
driver.get("http://whatismyip.com");
Explanation:the above code takes advantage of Firefox's API to change the preferences using JavaScript code.
As far as I know there are only two ways to change the proxy setting, one via a profile (which you are using) and the other using the capabilities of a driver when you instantiate it as per here. Sadly neither of these methods do what you want as they both happen before as you create your driver.
I have to ask, why is it you want to change your proxy settings? The only solution I can easily think of is to point firefox to a proxy that you can change at runtime. I am not sure but that might be possible with browsermob-proxy.
One possible solution is to close the webdriver instance and create it again after each operation by passing a new configuration in the browser profile
Have a try selenium-wire, It can even override header field
from seleniumwire import webdriver
options = {
'proxy': {
"http": "http://" + IP_PORT,
"https": "http://" + IP_PORT,
'custom_authorization':AUTH
},
'connection_keep_alive': True,
'connection_timeout': 30,
'verify_ssl': False
}
# Create a new instance of the Firefox driver
driver = webdriver.Firefox(seleniumwire_options=options)
driver.header_overrides = {
'Proxy-Authorization': AUTH
}
# Go to the Google home page
driver.get("http://whatismyip.com")
driver.close()

I want my Domino Servlet to get an authenticated user session

It seems a like a pretty fundamental question, in a running Servlet hosted on Domino I want to access Domino resources that I have wisely protected using the the very fine security of IBM Notes and Domino.
I want the Servlet to be able to read and write data to Domino whilst keeping that data from the client that called the Servlet (or xAgent) and preventing the client from writing directly.
I'd be happy to be able to get a session that represented the signer of the application. I can get a session for a registered user by calling the Servlet using ?open&login and signing in. That's not practical.
I've looked here: How can you use SessionAsSigner in a Java Bean called from an XPage? where Mark Leusink (https://stackoverflow.com/users/1177870/mark-leusink) implies the use of ExtLib's getCurrentSessionAsSigner() could be used. I've tried it, having signed the whole application with a single user id and it doesn't return a session. The answer seems to lie in the Servlet's inability to get a FacesContext object.
This feels like the answer should be obvious but it isn't to me. Any ideas?
FacesContext is JSF stuff and can be used from XAgent (=XPage).
In a servlet you can do this:
Session session = NotesFactory.createSession(null, "user", "password");
Server ID usually has no password and doing this will use the server ID:
Session session = NotesFactory.createSession();
Check the source of the WebDav project on OpenNTF. It has all the code you need
There have been lots of good answers to the original question. Thanks very much.
The solution I propose to use is to port the code I have to OSGi plugins. It appears that java code/Servlets within the NSF context are subject to security controls that are relaxed when the same code runs within the OSGi context. The code:
try {
NotesThread.sinitThread();
Session s = NotesFactory.createSession("","<my username>","<my password>");
.....
session = null;
} catch (Exception e) {
} finally {
NotesThread.stermThread();
}
Runs fine in the OSGI context, but within in an NSF produc
com.ibm.domino.osgi.core.context.ContextInfo.getUserSession()
Jason - I assume you basically want the same functionality you would get running a Web Query Save agent if you didn't select run as Web User selected, in other words as the signer of the code.
You could try setting up a internet site rule to allow basic authentication for the specific application path you wanted to use - might be worth using a subdomain for this.
Then within the Servlet call this URL, whilst setting the Basic authorization parameters (username & password).
Something like this.
URL url = new URL(URL_TO_CALL);
String authStr = "USERNAME:PASSWORD";
String authEncoded = Base64.encodeBytes(authStr.getBytes());
HttpURLConnection connection = (HttpURLConnection) url.openConnection();
connection.setRequestMethod("GET");
connection.setDoOutput(true);
connection.setRequestProperty("Authorization", "Basic " + authEncoded);
InputStream is = connection.getInputStream();

Register an application to a URL protocol (all browsers) via installer

I know this is possible via a simple registry change to accomplish this as long as IE/firefox is being used. However, I am wondering if there is a reliable way to do so for other browsers,
I am specifically looking for a way to do this via an installer, so editing a preference inside a specific browser will not cut it.
Here is the best I can come up with:
IE: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa767914(VS.85).aspx
FireFox: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol
Chrome: Since every other browser in seems to support the same convention, I created a bug for chrome.
Opera: I can't find any documentation, but it appears to follow the same method as IE/Firefox (see above links)
Safari: Same thing as opera, it works, but I can't find any documentation on it
Yes. Here is how to do it with FireFox:
http://kb.mozillazine.org/Register_protocol
and Opera:
http://www.opera.com/support/kb/view/535/
If someone looks like a solution for an intranet web site (for all browsers, not only IE), that contains hyperlinks to a shared server folders (like in my case) this is a possible solution:
register protocol (URI scheme) via registry (this can be done for all corporative users i suppose). For example, "myfile:" scheme. (thanks to Greg Dean's answer)
The hyperlink href attribute will then should look like
<a href='myfile:\\mysharedserver\sharedfolder\' target='_self'>Shared server</a>
Write a console application that redirects argument to windows explorer (see step 1 for example of such application)
This is piece of mine test app:
const string prefix = "myfile:";
static string ProcessInput(string s)
{
// TODO Verify and validate the input
// string as appropriate for your application.
if (s.StartsWith(prefix))
s = s.Substring(prefix.Length);
s = System.Net.WebUtility.UrlDecode(s);
Process.Start("explorer", s);
return s;
}
I think this app can be easily installed by your admins for all intranet users :)
I couldn't set up scheme setting to open such links in explorer without this separate app.
