Is it possible to monitor 2 different infrastructures ? - Elastic Cloud - elasticsearch

I'm currently using a the trial of Elastic Cloud for my project.
I would like to be able to monitor 2 infrastructures at the same time, I have created a space for each infrastructure as well as 2 agent policies linked to the agents of their own infrastructure.
I was wondering if there was a way to separate the agents by agent policy, for example with a filter, to get only the agents belonging to the space of the chosen infrastructure or by another way.

It's definitely possible to create filtered aliases and then in each Kibana space you can create an index pattern over each alias to only show the data relevant to the underlying agent in the relevant space.

Which t3 EC2 instance should i pick as a start when launching a spring/angular webapplication?

I have built a spring boot/angular web application that uses a mySQL database for storage. The web application's main purpose is to be like a social media website for gardeners. Next to this it has a couple of tools that allow the user to generate a personalized planting calendar based on the monthly average temperature curve of the region where the user lives. Alternatively the user can also generate a personalized planting calendar based on planting journals made by other users that live within a certain radius near the user doing the calendar generating. I am using Hibernate Search for this.
I do not expect to get millions of visits in the first months after launching the web application, so my question is: What would be the best ec2 instance type to start out with? Could a t3.micro support an application like that for the first months or two? Also, How will i know when the current instance type can no longer handle the incoming traffic without lag and therefore i need to upgrade to a bigger instance like t3.medium or large?

If the instance is suitable or not depends on many things. Based on my experience a micro instance is not enough for many use cases.
My suggestion is to start with a t3.small instance, start gathering metrics in CloudWatch to establish your baseline for few days. Then decide if it is enough or not.
If you are filling all your resources you can eventually upgrade to a bigger instance. However if your app is dealing with Java I think that a medium size is the minimum start.
About the lag and other things, first suggestion is to put CloudFront on top of the EC2 at least for all your static content (suggestion: put your static contents on S3 don't let EC2 serve them). Then I think that the only option is to rely on some third party performance tool, external to AWS.
By the way, I have built the same app on iOS many years ago, with a support website hosted on AWS. Now the app is gone, and the website is unmaintained :-)

Shared objects in a clustered application with Liberty Profile cluster on BlueMix

I am developing an application that needs to be clustered in Liberty Profile on BlueMix. I need to have a shared List of objects accessible to all nodes of the cluster. The app will perform update, add and remove operations on them, as one node does not cope with the big load need of the application. How can I do this with Liberty Profile? Is there a best practice or recommended approach before looking for 3rd party solutions for this? Thanks
I would suggest looking at the services in Bluemix, for example Data Cache or Redis. An external (to your app) service would be the cloud best practice for sharing data between multiple instances of the same application or multiple applications that need to communicate.
A traditional Liberty cluster doesn't make sense in Bluemix because the Cloud Foundry platform upon which it is based is already providing ways to achieve high availability and scale.

Cloud foundry across multiple locations

If I have two servers. One in the USA and one in Europe.
How would I use Cloudfoundry on those?
Do I simply deploy a single Cloud Foundry Instance on those two servers?
Am I able to push an app to a specific server? (say I want two instances in Europe and one in the US)
And will CF then redirect requests from different locations to the nearest server?
If I was to set up two different CF Instances, (One in the US and one in Europe), would they be able to cooperate?
This is possible, you can search for "Cloud Foundry multiple datacenters" or other such terms to see how different users have implemented this. One good starting resource is this presentation. There are all sorts of trade-offs to be made when doing such a setup, so there is not just a single solution. Also, this proposal will bring one particular solution into the core of OSS CF.

Azure cache configs - multiple on one storage account?

while developing Azure application I got famous error "Cache referred to does not exist", and after a while I found this solution: datacacheexception Cache referred to does not exist (for short: dont point multiple cache clusters to one storage account by ConfigStoreConnectionString)
Well, I have 3 roles using co-located cache, and testing+production environment. So I would have to create 6 "dummy" storage accounts just for cache configuration. This doesnt seems very nice to me.
So the question is - is there any way to point multiple cache clusters to one storage account? for example, specify different containers for them (they create one named "cacheclusterconfigs" by default) or so?

Given your setup, i would point each cloud service at its own storage account. So this gives two per environment (one for each cloud service). Now there are other alternatives, you could set up Server AppFabric cache in an IaaS VM and expose that to both of your cloud services by placing them all within a single Azure Virtual Network. However, this will introduce latency to the connections as well as increase costs (from running the virtual network).
You can also put the storage account for cache as the same one used by diagnostics or the data storage for your cloud services, just be aware of any scalability limits as the cache will generate some traffic (mainly from the addition of new items to the cache).
But unfortunately, to my knowledge there's no option currently to allow for two caches to share the same storage account.

How do you distinguish your EC2 instances?

The ec2-describe-instances command is not very helpful in distinguishing the instances.
Are there command line tools that give a better overview?
Perhaps somewhat like http://github.com/newbamboo/manec2 but with support for different regions etc.
Amazon recently has added a feature to 'tag' your EC2 instances.
You can use security group to identify your instance. See http://www.shlomoswidler.com/2009/06/tagging-ec2-instances-using-security_30.html
You can add an empty security_group to each instance to be able to communicate with each other.
I'm using http://github.com/cocoy/mr.awsome to provision and name instance via security groups. This way I can identify each instance whether I'm using Elasticfox, AWS console, or the same tool mr.awsome.

I think Rodney's method of using securty groups is the most comprehensive, but if you just want a way to assign a free-form tag to your instances, you can do that if you set up a free account at RightScale and use it to launch your instances. Warning - you'll have to put up with occasional emails from RightScale asking if you want to use their paid services.
This isn't a command-line solution, and it's far from perfect, but my company currently maintains a shared Word document in a Dropbox folder that maintains the role/name -> instance id mapping for all of our active instances.
Using a Word document also allows us to keep track of some more information that is nice to have available at a glance:
The "environment" the instance is a part of.
The RDP shortcut to the instance for simple access.
The AMI the instance was launched from.
Any additional attached volumes.
The region the instance is in.
etc.
