I'm trying to figure out if there is a way to retrieve all the posts of a community of Google Currents using the Google API, in order to store them automatically somewhere else. Unfortunately, I've found nothing that allows me to achieve that so far.
Do you know any way to do that? Google API related, or not.
So far, I've looked in the Google API docs but haven't found anything truly usefull. I might need to develop a script that retrieves on its own the posts. Seems like a lot of work.

hi i would like to know how to use attribute action in google recapcha API V3 i cant find what exaclty it is
Google API
already tried check API docs but without any progress :\ thanks
It seems action can be anything you like, it just acts as a way to distinguish different functions you might have captcha for. Example, one action to monitor sign in activity, one to monitor posting text, etc
I am using Google API to get the place information and store it into database. Using Google API I am able to get address, opening hours, rating and reviews as shown in below image.
But, I am not able to get place description which is highlighted in below image in red circle. ("Quaint Italian mainstay for deep-dish, Chicago-style pizza, calzones, pastas & hot dogs.")
I want that information in my application. I think google is taking those information from
Freebase https://developers.google.com/freebase/guide/basic_concepts
Wikipedia https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_contribute
But I am not sure.
Can any one help me suggest me that how I can get that information or any other API that I can use to get that information based on google place_id.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thank you
Accordingly to the documentation and #xomena, currently you cannot obtain this data via Places API. There is a feature request in Google issue tracker to make the detailed business type available in Places API, however Google doesn't expose any ETA (estimation time of arrival:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/35822953
Feel free to star this feature request to express your interest and subscribe to notification from Google.
To my knowledge it is not possible to get this information from the Google Places API. The API documentation does not display the venue description. Try to have a look here: https://developers.google.com/places/web-service/details (it might be that Google does not share all information from their platform with other developers..).
I would suggest you to do one of the following (or perhaps both):
Scrape Google the old school way; i.e. by getting the information from the HTML. There is a quite decent guide for doing that here (you would of course have to adjust the example to scraping Google instead): https://medium.freecodecamp.org/how-to-scrape-websites-with-python-and-beautifulsoup-5946935d93fe.
What I would recommend and which probably is the fastest: enrich your current data with other data. You could e.g. use Foursquare and search for the places you get from Google. It should be possible to get the description for each place on Foursquare. See here: https://developer.foursquare.com/docs/api/venues/details. If you have problems with matching the places after your query has returned, because the venue names are not exactly the same - but close, then you could use an algorithm to match strings that are close; perhaps using the levenstein distance (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levenshtein_distance).
I am new in Xamarin ,I am looking for a way to put facebook/linkedin/google authentication. I have looked at many tutorials but none of them is recent and there are not working well or there are obsolete.
Here is the tutorials, I have found: click to seeing the page
Do you know a recent and better one ?
There are many samples about how to authenticate users in facebook or google. And I find your article here in MSDN with a sample which runs in VS2015. Even though it's a little bit out of date, you can also find something useful.
You can also refer to the official documentation of Xamarin.OAuth and the sample here. Modify the information in Constants to your own's. This article specify how to register in Google and get the Client ID and Redirect URL.
You can read it more carefully then create your own UI to achieve authentication.
I want to use GSA to serve search results from Google Groups.
I do a lot of research in the web but I did not found information about GSA and Google Groups. I understood that Google Groups use #! (Hashbang) in the URL and GSA doesn't support crawling AJAX applications.
I think that a solutions could be to use the Integrating with Google Apps method but on this, and other similar, article they talk about Google Sites and Google Docs and not about Google Groups.
Because to try this solution I have to involve various departments in the company I would like to know if someone used this method for that. Or if someone could give me some advices to achieve that.
Since there is no API nor any existing oob stuff on the GSA to crawl Google Groups, the best way is to use the Google Adaptor framework and create something on your own. It should be fairly easy tbh.
I'm looking for a way to get a list of all the users apps (that is apps published by the user NOT apps downloaded by the user).
Which API should I be looking at? I'm also interested in getting data about the apps uploaded.
Something like this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/developer?id=Goodgame+Studios
But as a api call.
As far as I know there is no official API to do that.
You may look for some third-party APIs like http://www.playstoreapi.com but I don't know if it is enough for you.
