I am attempting to uinstall mysql and reinstall it. I have successfully uinstalled eveything including the connector net from my system. I have followed all the steps of removing MySQL from the program files, program files (x86), program data and users/AppData/roaming folders and even removed the registry key for the connector app. However, when I go to install mysql version 8.0.28, it keeps asking to update connector net version 8.0.27 to 8.0.28, however it can't because it is no longer on my system. I am not able to install mysql properly since the installer keeps thinking that I already have this connector app when I don't. If anyone could help me in fixing this issue, that would be greatly appreciated.

everyone. If you don't want to read through it all, the question I have is: What would cause the Oracle 11g Client Installer to not install all of the registry keys properly? I'm not sure how specific this is to my environment, so I'll try to be as specific as I can and this first paragraph may not be relevant. If it's not, I apologize.
I'm installing the Administrative deployment of the Oracle 11g Client Installer, and after installing all of the 32/64-bit ODBC Drivers, testing the credentials, SunGard EAS 11.5, etc... I receive an error from EAS 11.5 telling me...
Lucky for me, that's me! The problem is that other people are already in EAS so obviously it's not a server failure, which, since every machine is Windows 10 r14393 64-bit, leads me to the only difference between the environments: The Registry.
During the installation, I change the REG_SZ insta_loc in HKLM\Software\Oracle\ from C:\Program Files\Oracle\Inventory to C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle\Inventory so it installs correctly. In a good install, the following registry keys appear:
Lately, only the following keys have been appearing, when installed from either my Network (Admin) Account, or the local Administrator, over the network or locally from the HDD:
Can anyone help me figure out (or answer) why the Oracle Installer(s) would only install certain registry keys? I feel like the only thing that would interfere with an install is permissions, but I've tried the same two Admin accounts I've previously and successfully installed this on to no avail. Thanks!
I recreated one of the computers in a different group policy and the install worked. The original group policy I had them in was set to automatically install certain .MSI files, and I believe those files wrote to directories with the SYSTEM account instead of using User privileges which disallowed me from writing to the directories and creating the necessary keys.
I've got a strange problem. My xampp seems to run just fine, at least the control panel says so. A couple of months back I was able to use xampp properly as well. But now, if I try to load anything in htdocs the browser tells me that the website is not available.
The only things that have changed since I used xampp successfully:
I've briefly installed wampp, but decided to deinstall it again. As far as I can tell, I have removed snd deinstalled everything succesfully.
And, I'm using an other internet connection. Is there a possibility that the firewall of the modem messes xampp up?
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
PS: I did not post the config files of xampp, because I haven't changed them since everything worked properly, so I hardly think that it is relevant.
Considering your problem and the information I have gathered from you.
The best solution is:
Make a backup of all your files in htdocs.Uninstall Xampp completely.Download and install once again.
Note:
Latest Xampp versions comes with MariaDB unlike mysql. Now some versions of MariaDB is unstable. This would create problems when you are actually working with database and sql queries.
Either download and install Xampp which comes with Mysql or find a version of xampp which comes with a stable version of MariaDB and the latest PhpMyAdmin version.
Reinstalling solves issues like this most of the time. There may have been some kind of server conflict when you installed WAMP.So an all new installation is best.
You could also try clearing the browser history and cookie as an alternative.
I'm trying to install Oracle BIEE 11g on my computer, but something wiered happend.
I've tried on a x86 computer with 2GB memory and a x64 computer with 4GB memory. Both of them are running Windows OS. I want to connect a MS-SQLSERVER database, and I've finished creating related DEV_ tables using RCU.
I followed the tutorial from the doc.oracle.com, but then I stopped at the 14th step, it says "设置数据库连接失败". I can continue install, but another error occurs, service obisch1 cannot start. I can open localhost:9704 after installation, but it will return a 500-error after I restart my computer.
I searched the internet, it says I should set my database source using "Net Manager" Tool, but I don't know how. And after install I got a database source using driver "MERANT OEM 5.3 32-BIT SQL Server Wired Protocol", but I can't make change to it, cause the system says can't find the driver...
I don't know what to do now... Anybody can help me? Thanks very much.
Well, I've kind of solved it.
I still don't know why my computer cannot find the odbc drier "MERANT OEM 5.3 32-BIT SQL Server Wired Protocol", which seems to be the reason why I can't connect to the database at the 14th step while I install OBIEE.
However, I add an odbc-connect through the system's function, I found it in the control panel.
On the other hand, the url http://localhost:7001/em and http://localhost:7001/analytics can be still accessed(after a long time, it can be accessed).
So, then I create a rpd file use my own odbc-connect, and it seems work fine.
Thanks everybody, anyway, and hopes can help
I have Informix version 11.50 installed on my Windows machine. According to this link, in order to start the server, it should be done through Windows services, look for Informix IDS - instance_name. It is supposed to start when Windows is started up, but for my case it is not, and it wasn't started. Thus I start it up manually by double clicking on it, and it prompt me an error:
The service did not respond to the start or control request in a
timely fashion.
May I know is there any solution in order to start up the local Informix DB on windows?
You will have to check what went wrong in Informix log. It is located in Informix dir and has server name with .log extension (for example c:\informix\ol_test.log). In this file there is information about running server like:
12:42:36 IBM Informix Dynamic Server Started.
Check this file and give us more details if you will not know how to solve reported problems.
Installation of Informix in Windows Vista has been failed. Due to the reason this Informix thing is not able to uninstall and not even allow me to configure a database. Even though I have manually delete the whole folder from Program Files, when trying to install a new copy of Informix, it prompt me the "Invalid ISV name" thing which I totally running out of clue with.
I found a post mention that Vista is not a good platform for Informix. Forget about Windows as a Server a.k.a. WAAS.
xD
I am trying to install Moodle 1.9 using XAMPP on a virtual machine running Windows Server 2008 Enterprise edition.
I can initially access the install.php installer script fine but after I progress past the third page the webpage times out.
If I go to http://localhost/, no webpage is downloaded and the browser just times out.
I have tried to run the install script with IE7 and Chrome to see if it was a browser problem, but the same thing occurs.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Ashley
Windows servers are notorious for causing problems with Moodle installations. Here's a few things to try:
Check the dirroot is set correctly your config.php file. Windows requires complete, absolute file names.
Has the failed install created some/all database tables, and populated them? If only some, look for the last successful table, then check for any corrupted or modified code related to that table that could be causing the install to hang. E.g. is the last successful table is forum, check your mods/forum files. It might be worth downloading a fresh weekly build of Moodle.
Your mysql memory_limit might be set too low (Moodle Docs recommend at least 40mb for Moodle 1.8 and higher).
Is this an upgrade, or a clean install? If it's an upgrade, don't try jumping too many versions, and (if possible) uninstall any third-party modules or activities that might cause trouble whilst updating the tables.
There's lots more info in the Moodle Docs, particularly:
