How to change display information on Zebra printer with ZPL? - zebra-printers

I work with ZM400 printer and I need to replace either UPS firmware completely in the best case. If not - just remove that UPS icon on the printer screen.

Is it possible to translate RoomCaptureView user instructions?

I've been working on an app that uses the new RoomPlan API and I'm looking for a way to translate the "Scan Guidance" or User Instructions that are overlayed on the RoomCaptureView when the user is scanning a room. Instructions like "Move device to start" and "Move further away" are in English but I'd like them to be in Dutch in my case.
I can't seem to find a way to provide translations to these instructions myself and setting the device region or language doesn't seem to change anything.
Is this even possible currently?

TSPL/TSPL2 [TSC barcode label printers] Designer?

Is there a software for testing & previewing labels, like the "ZPL Designer for ZPL language", but TSPL/TSPL2 language instead?
It would better to preview the labels instead of unnecessarily test printing labels.
Thanks
Seems some or all TSC printers are compatible with ZPL, so you can just convert to ZPL, and Preview with Labelary.com. You may have to enable the setting in the printer's UI.
Else, if they are anything like Zebra printers, you can log into them through the network, manage the flash storage, and preview labels through that.

Show the Windows 8 brightness slider via native c++

I'm working on an app where I need to change the brightness. However, I want the user to be aware of the relative brightness by seeing the built in brightness slider they're used to. Also- this designed to run only on laptops or tablets so the displays should support programmatic brightness.
*Note: This image was stolen from this post.
I was hoping it would automatically show up when I changed the brightness programmatically but no luck there. I tried doing so with WmiSetBrightness() and with PowerWriteACValueIndex() but neither of them showed the slider.
TL;DR I want to programmatically invoke the slider to show the user what the current brightness level is. Any ideas?

How to generate barcode font (code128) not image

I have an application that generates barcode in image format and it is read by some devices and fails in others.
The problem now that the barcode image is pixilated so the barcode reader can't read it and i have decided to change barcode from image to font to overcome this problem as font barcode is readable from all readers (that I am using).
I face now a problem, when I setup the driver of the printer (Zebra TLP) at my PC (64-bit) and set it as a default printer, the font Code128 appeared in fonts list at MS Office Word application but in VS2010 doesn't appear, I need to use the font of the printer (Code128) to use it and generate barcode. How can I do that?
I don't know if the problem is clear to you or not? But I have to generate a font barcode in .net 2010 at Telerik reports.
I downloaded a code128 true type font here and have used it in a few apps since. This page also gave good data for computing checksums for code128.

Merging devices in Windows 7 Devices and Printers

My company makes a product that includes both a display and a USB input device. Right now they show up as two separate icons in Devices and Printers, and we'd obviously like them to be exposed as one.
According to the documentation at MSDN, the way to do this is to provide a ContainerID through one means or another, but display devices are not mentioned at all. Does anyone have an idea how to manage the ContainerID of a display device?
According to someone at Microsoft, this is currently not possible:

fix. but it's aesthetic anyway, if you right-click the printer and hover over properties, you can choose props for each individual printer, and they're seperately selectable in printer choice drop-downs, such as in word > file/ribbon > Print [choose either & go].
But either way, if you're after a fix, the link is above.
