cocoapods crashes with ruby version - ruby

I tried to update cocoapods as instructed by people who got another error Ignoring ffi-1.15.4 because its extensions are not built. Try: gem pristine ffi --version 1.15.4
So I followed the instructions and when to run gem install cocoapods and I got this error

Install cocoapods for flutter on mac failed

I try to install cocoapods version 1.10.1 on Catalina (10.15.7) to use with flutter because flutter will not run with newest version. But building it failed and I can't figure out why. Looks like some dev libraries are missing but I can't find what is going on.
I try brew but that was not a success:
brew install cocoapods#1.10.1

If you solve this problem?
I fixed it by running
brew install cocoapods
And
You may want to remove it:
rm '/usr/local/bin/pod'
To force the link and overwrite all conflicting files:
brew link --overwrite cocoapods
Install homebrew if you haven't already. https://brew.sh/
Try adding --disable-system-libffi to the gem install command.
This worked for me:
gem inst cocoapods -- --disable-system-libffi
