Oracle APEX application failing to read data present in database - oracle

I am working on an APEX application and am faced with an issue in which data present in the database is not read by the application. Rather, the application reads some of fields from the database and not the rest without throwing any error message.
This small application has a main page that contains tombstone information about work projects we are engaged in and is represented by approximately 30 Oracle items of type ‘Database column' that are the fields of the main project overview table. This main page also has several interactive reports that allow the users to manipulate data from other related tables like project costs, project deliverables, project recommendations, etc. While the functionality to create/update/delete from these related tables works perfectly, I am still unable make the same functionality work for the main table and am unable to figure out why as Oracle is not giving me an error message. The changes I submit in the application clearly hit the database as I can see the record updated in the Oracle Object Browser or by querying in SQL commands. I have visually depicted the situation below and thank you in advance for any assistance.
Open project number ‘1982’ and populate with dummy data and ‘save’.
Entered data appears in the main table correctly
Open record project number 1982 and observe that only some of the fields are
shown in the application even though the fields are clearly populated accurately in the underlying table.

Datagrip - table names do not appear when clicking on schema names in left-hand panel

I recently installed Datagrip to view my Company's Postgres database, however I am currently unable to view the tables in the different schemas by clicking on the schema name:
In the image, I've clicked to open and show the ab-testing schema, however nothing appears below it. This behavior is consistent across all of the schemas in the database. I am able to use the query editor to query tables in the schemas (assuming i know the table names), yet I cannot see the names in the left-side panel. I am using datagrip 2020.2
Thanks!
I had the same problem with a MySQL database. As a test, I used the MariaDB driver instead of the MySQL driver as usual. This was intentional and not an oversight, but it was not a good idea!
The tables, views and server objects were not displayed. Although I was able to display the tables and views after activating Schema Properties -> Advanced -> "Introspect using JDBC metadata", the server objects were not displayed. Working with the displayed tables and views was not possible in the usual way.
Only when I used the MySQL driver again, everything worked correctly again. The tables, views and server objects were displayed correctly and the work with it was possible in the usual way.
As a small quintessence I would like to recommend to all who "struggle" with similar problems to check your chosen drivers. Maybe the problem is caused by choosing the wrong driver, as it was in my case.
Whick kind of message do you get when instrospecting the schema?
I had a java.io.CharConversionException caused by a not valid UTF-8 string.
If this is the case, you can add the following VM option -Ddb2.jcc.charsetDecoderEncoder=3.

How to use ODI 11g ETL error table as source?

I'm currently using ODI 11g to import into Oracle, via CSV files, records from Mainframe Adabas table views. This is being done successfully.
The point is that I'm trying now to send back to a mainframe application via CSV the records that, for a reason or other, could not be imported into Oracle and are stored in the ETL's error tables.
I'm trying to use the same process, in this case backwards, to export the data from the error tables to a CSV file, which is to be imported by the mainframe application into Adabas.
I successfully imported via reverse engineering the structure of the error table to be my source base. I've set up new physical e and logical models to be used by this process. I've also created the interface.
My problem is that when I try to save the interface, it gives me a fatal error saying that I don't have an "LKM selected for this origin set".
When I try to set the LKM in Flow tab, it doesn't give me any option at LKM Selector.
I'm quite green on ODI and have no idea how to solve this problem, so any insights would be most appreciated.
Thanks all!
You need to change the location where transformations will occur. Currently the interface is trying to move all data to the file technology and process it there. But it's easier to work the other way around and make the database do the job. To do so, go on the overview pane of your interface and select "Staging Area Different From Target" checkbox, then select the logical schema of your Oracle source below.
On the Flow tab, click on your target and select the following IKM : "IKM SQL to File Append". This is a multi-technology IKM which means you won't need an LKM anymore to move data from source to target.

Apex/Oracle: When creating a new page, the tables I've created won't show up

I am creating an application in Oracle for a piece of coursework.
I've been using it for a few weeks and have just come across an issue;
I need to submit this on friday, and it's a mess, so I created a new application and tried to add a new page, but none of the tables that I have created are available to choose... I've tried dropping all my previous tables and objects etc. and then re-inserted everything back in. My SQL queries etc work fine.
All of my tables appear in the SQL Browser. I've even tried creating a new application a few times and trying different combinations of thing, but to no avail.
I have searched and searched google and online help for Oracle etc, but with no results
I am using my Universitys local oracle apex, but this is happening on the normal apex as well....
Any help would be appreciated... freaking out as this is due in less than 2 days!
After consulting one of my lectures, he informed me that as I am referencing an object table, that they won't show up on the drop down list - you need to reference it using SQL instead

oracle - Schemas issues when migration from discoverer to OBIEE

I'm working on migrating some reports from Oracle Discoverer to OBIEE. I've already exported the layouts from discoverer to OBIEE. I have all I need in the OBIEE Admin tool now, but when I try to perform this operation:
I got this message:
I've read in many forums that this is because of the query (enter link description here) but I've executed the query in SQL Developer and all is fine.
Any idea?
Thanks,
I can see from the icon on your object that it is an Opaque View that your trying to run View Data on.
This is probably because of a syntax issue in your opaque view. Make sure the code in the opaque view doesn't end with a semi-colon or slash, that will cause problems. Try eliminating any blank lines, if there are any. However, without knowing exactly the syntax of the code it's impossible to say exactly what the cause is.
It's also possible that there is a connection script attached to the connection pool you are using to View Data, running on connection or before execution with bad syntax.
Otherwise have a look in the Admin Tool log to see if there's more information about what is causing the error. It will usually contain more detailed information than is passed back through the GUI.

Linking Oracle tables to Access 2007 File (Performance)

I'm running into a problem while linking some tables and views present on a Oracle 11g database to a Access 2007 file.
I'm using the Oracle Client (SQORA32.DLL) version 11.02.00.03.
If the view/table returns a small amount of data, there's no problem. The problem happens when the view or the table returns a "large" amount of data. I've tried to increase the buffer size on the driver (default is 64000) to see if that happens. I've also removed the "Enable query timeout" option - otherwise I would get a "Query cancelled by user" or a "ODBC - Call Failed" error.
In order to link the tables/views, I've used the "native tool" (External Data -> ODBC Database -> Link to data source by creating a linked table).
I was wondering if I could retrieve the data from the tables/views using vba. Sometimes, I (you should read "I" as "the users") may need to update data on some tables (control tables).
Please let me know your thoughts.
EDIT: Our goal with this project was to migrate from SQL Server 2005 to Oracle 11gR2. After analyzing the behaviour of the Access files regarding the SQL Server, I've concluded that the results are showing like a "cursor" - if you scroll down on the result window, it will load more.
I think that this may be the issue because, AFAIK, Oracle (driver, maybe?) pulls everything from the DB and, only then, populates MS Access.
It's a long time after this so here goes the solution. MS access has a flag for the ODBC connection as "Treat Float as Numeric". This have made the trick.
