I tried to install this subzy tool from GitHub but it shows this kind of error and I can't install it I have faced the same problem with other programs written in (GO language).
I can clone the programs written in python but I am unable to clone the programs written in go language once I clone I don't know how to install them

Check the version of the go (go mod is enforced in recent version meaning)

You can install it like this:
go install github.com/hvuhsg/lokidbServer/cmd#latest
If the repo is yours, I would recommend adding a folder lokidb to the cmd folder, and put the main package inside of it.
Check this repo as an example:
go install github.com/fraugster/parquet-go/cmd/csv2parquet#latest
Another option is to add a file to the root of the directory, like its done here (in this case, the package inside go.mod is defined as github.com/vektra/mockery/v2):

I am trying to install a library from a go v1.18 program to access Google Cloud.
Previously, the "go get" command was used, but since version 1.18, it is no longer available.
It seems to use go install, but I get an error when executing the command.

go install is used to install binary programs available on the package. Usually command line tools.
go get, until go1.18, was used to update packages and install programs, they change it by split in several programs
Seems there is nothing to install. Also the main package is not bigquery but cloud.google.com/go
If you want to install a dependency, if you are using vendorized modules you can do
$ go get -u cloud.google.com/go/bigquery
$ go mod tidy
$ go mod vendor
If not, you may try it by running go mod init first

I am super new to golang, go installation is fine in my system because other tools from github are working fine.
If some changes are required in the code of this tool, please suggest so.

I tried to use gotk3 for creating desktop application. I follow the instruction in gotk3 wiki and this installing-on-linux wiki to install it. But then I get this error while executing go get -v:

I've tried to delete the gotk3 directory, and then trying to go get -v again, but still, it didn't work.
I also checked the GTK version that installed in my Ubuntu 16.04 using apt-cache policy libgtk2.0-0 libgtk-3-0 | grep Installed. And it shows this:

Installed: 3.18.9-1ubuntu3.3

GdkMonitor was introduced in GTK+ 3.22. Your version is 3.18.
go get -tags gtk_3_18 github.com/gotk3/gotk3/gtk at the very beginning of building (see here NOTE section) should fix things
I'd like to contribute to an OSS project built with go, but I'm having hard time compiling it. It looks as if I'm missing something obvious.
I think the problem is related to how go is installed on my computer, and not to the project itself, thus I'm posting it here on StackOverflow, instead of project's "Issues" section.
Below is what I'm doing.
I've installed go using homebrew:
$ brew install go

So either Contributing guideline is incomplete, or I'm missing something obvious about installing and managing go packages.
Your path when cloning the source must be on the golang PATH like :
/home/gujarat/golang/src/github.com/lucapette/fakedata
as you can see my Path to golang path is : /home/gujarat/golang/.
You can also print your golang path in your terminal by entering : $GOPATH.
And the git clone should be in the following the exact as above path : src/github.com/lucapette/.
cd $GOPATH/src/github.com/
mkdir lucaptte
cd lucapette
git clone https://github.com/lucapette/fakedata.git
When you are running the make command which trigger go build this command will look the $GOPATH and your $GOROOT folder.
Your go source should in your gopath - here it is Users/gmile/src. Use go get to fetch the pkg you want to work on instead and it should work.
