I am using the following dependency for Flink Table API.
<dependency>
<groupId>org.apache.flink</groupId>
<artifactId>flink-table</artifactId>
<version>1.15.0</version>
<type>pom</type>
</dependency>
While compiling I am not getting any error. But I am not able to resolve the flink table API dependency. Kindly help

As explained on https://nightlies.apache.org/flink/flink-docs-release-1.15/docs/dev/configuration/advanced/#anatomy-of-table-dependencies there are currently 3 JARs inside the Flink distribution that are needed for Table API/SQL applications. You'll need to select and use the one that's relevant for your use case.

To import the table-api you need the dependency flink-table-api-java.
The way you are doing won't work to import POMs you need to use the dependencyManagement.

maven-install-plugin does not load local dependency

I'm trying load local dependencies using the Maven maven-install-plugin:
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-install-plugin</artifactId>
<version>2.5.2</version>
<executions>
<execution>
<id>tetramap</id>
<phase>initialize</phase>
<goals>
<goal>install-file</goal>
</goals>
<configuration>
<groupId>tetramap</groupId>
<artifactId>tetramap</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
<packaging>jar</packaging>
<file>${project.basedir}/lib/tetraMap-1.0.jar</file>
</configuration>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>
<dependency>
<groupId>tetramap</groupId>
<artifactId>tetraMap</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
</dependency>
As a result, the downloaded dependency should appear in the repository (user/.m2/repository). the files should appear in the repository. But they are not uploaded to the repository ("tetramap-1.0.jar " and "tetramap-1.0.pom" files and the "maven-metadata-local.xm" file is missing).
Please tell me what I'm doing wrong. I want to see the uploaded files in the repository tetramap-1.0.jar , tetramap-1.0.pom and maven-metadata-local.xml.
More detailed:
I need this in order to create a Docker image for a project with Vaadin and Spring.
My Dockerfile:
FROM openjdk:11-jdk-slim
COPY *.tetra ./
COPY src src
COPY frontend frontend
COPY route route
COPY package.json ./
COPY target/*.jar tetraweb.jar
EXPOSE 8080
ENTRYPOINT ["java", "-jar", "/tetraweb.jar"]
If there are no such files in the user/.m2/repository directory, then when I run the command (creates a Docker image):
sudo docker build . -t tetraweb:latest
And then I run the image in the container
sudo docker run -p 8080:8080 tetraweb:latest
And after that I get an error:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError:
And if the files are located in the repository (user/.m2/repository) directory, then the Docker image is created correctly with local dependencies.
I tried connecting local dependencies in other ways:
<dependency>
<groupId>tetramap</groupId>
<artifactId>tetraMap</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
<scope>system</scope>
<systemPath>${project.basedir}/lib/tetraMap-1.0.jar</systemPath>
</dependency>
или
<repository>
<id>local-repository</id>
<url>file://${project.basedir}/lib</url>
</repository>
...
<dependency>
<groupId>tetramap</groupId>
<artifactId>tetraMap</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
</dependency>
but the result is the same everywhere:
java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError
I found a temporary solution
my pom.xml:
<dependencies>
<dependency>
<groupId>tetramap</groupId>
<artifactId>tetraMap</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
<scope>system</scope>
<systemPath>${project.basedir}/lib/tetraMap-1.0.jar</systemPath>
</dependency>
</dependencies>
...
<build>
<defaultGoal>spring-boot:run</defaultGoal>
<plugins>
<plugin>
<groupId>org.apache.maven.plugins</groupId>
<artifactId>maven-install-plugin</artifactId>
<executions>
<execution>
<id>inst_1</id>
<phase>initialize</phase>
<goals>
<goal>install-file</goal>
</goals>
<configuration>
<groupId>tetramap</groupId>
<artifactId>tetraMap</artifactId>
<version>1.0</version>
<packaging>jar</packaging>
<file>${project.basedir}/lib/tetraMap-1.0.jar</file>
<localRepositoryPath>/home/user/.m2/repository</localRepositoryPath>
</configuration>
</execution>
</executions>
</plugin>
</plugins>
</build>
Now if I run a
mvn clean install
My directories in the repository are filled in correctly. I see the downloaded files:
enter image description here
At the moment, there is still a problem with creating a Docker image. If I run the command:
mvn -Pproduction
I see error:
[ERROR] Failed to execute goal com.vaadin:vaadin-maven-plugin:23.2.7:build-frontend (default) on project tetraweb: Could not execute build-frontend goal: Error occured during goal execution: nullPlease run Maven with the -e switch (or Gradle with the --stacktrace switch), to learn the full stack trace. [ERROR]
[ERROR] For more information about the errors and possible solutions, please read the following articles:
[ERROR] [Help 1] http://cwiki.apache.org/confluence/display/MAVEN/MojoFailureException
But if I disable the following code:
<!-- <scope>system</scope>
<systemPath>${project.basedir}/lib/tetraMap-1.0.jar</systemPath>-->
and I will run the command again:
mvn -Pproduction
In this case, the image creation will be successful
To upload a jar file to the repository, I need the included code:
<scope>system</scope>
<systemPath>${project.basedir}/lib/tetraMap-1.0.jar</systemPath>
To create a Docker image, this code must be disabled:( That's very strange...
This is my pom.xml all code:

Configure Maven pom to access Vaadin 14 alpha/beta pre-release

I see on the documentation page for Vaadin Flow that while version 14.0.4 is current, there a version 14.0.0alpha1.
Merely updating this element in my Maven POM:
<vaadin.version>14.1.0alpha1</vaadin.version>
…is not enough, as this pre-release is not yet available in the usual Maven repositories. As I vaguely recall from past experience, I need to configure my POM to access a special Maven repository for Vaadin pre-release versions. But cannot recall the details, and I am no Maven maven.
I am pasting my <repositories> block of my POM here, where the prereleases repository is defined, next to the add-ons repository which probably is used more often.
<repositories>
<!-- to test prerelease versions of Vaadin -->
<repository>
<id>Vaadin Prereleases</id>
<url>https://maven.vaadin.com/vaadin-prereleases</url>
</repository>
<!-- If you have at least 1 add-on, then you need this-->
<repository>
<id>Vaadin Directory</id>
<url>https://maven.vaadin.com/vaadin-addons</url>
</repository>
</repositories>
Sir, it is available in mvnrepository.com. I provide below the link.
https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.vaadin/vaadin/14.1.0.alpha1
<!-- https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.vaadin/vaadin -->
<dependency>
<groupId>com.vaadin</groupId>
<artifactId>vaadin</artifactId>
<version>14.1.0.alpha1</version>
</dependency>
I provide below the links.
Vaadin pre-releases moved to new repository
I also found the sample github link.
https://github.com/thinwire/VaadinArchetypeAlpha
I found my own Answer to my own Question about an earlier version of Vaadin (1 & 12). The centerpiece of that Answer applies here.
Make these three edits to your Maven POM file.
(1) Version
Change:
<vaadin.version>14.0.4</vaadin.version>
…to:
<vaadin.version>14.1.0.beta3</vaadin.version>
(2) Add a <repository>
Inside the <repositories> tag, add this element:
<!-- https://stackoverflow.com/a/57913824/642706 -->
<repository>
<id>vaadin-prereleases</id>
<url>https://maven.vaadin.com/vaadin-prereleases</url>
</repository>
(3) Add <pluginRepositories>
Between the end of the <repositories> element and the beginning of the <dependencyManagement> element, paste:
<pluginRepositories>
<!-- Repository needed for prerelease versions of Vaadin -->
<pluginRepository>
<id>vaadin-prereleases</id>
<url>https://maven.vaadin.com/vaadin-prereleases</url>
</pluginRepository>
</pluginRepositories>
(4) Maven clean/install
Save your POM. Do a Maven clean and install. Wait. And wait. And wait some more for many downloads, hundreds, maybe more. Takes several minutes on a 70 Mbps internet connection.
Then you should be able to run your web app with the new alpha or beta version of Vaadin 14.
Here is an example POM that is currently working for me. May have some extra <dependency> relevant to my project that you can ignore.

Why is Maven connecting to archiva.openqa.org

I'm building the code that I got from the book ActiveMQ in ACtion. When I run the code using these commands mvn clean install, I get these messages below. I cannot understand why it is downloading from release.openqa.org for the spring framework because I do not see anywhere in my POM.xml that this is configured to do so.
..........
Downloading from release.openqa.org: http://archiva.openqa.org/repository/releases/org/springframework/spring-core/maven-metadata.xml

Under the local repository C:\Users\wmunlai.m2\, I do see a few files called "resolver-status.properties". Could this be the cause? May I know the purpose of this file "resolver-status.properties". The content of one of this file is shown below:

It seems that this file camel-web-2.0.0.pom contains the following code that caused this problem:

repositories are either configured in the pom.xml file (your own one or a dependent one) or in settings.xml
You can check the effective files use by running mvn help:effective-pom or mvn help:effective-settings. The repo might appear there. Since spring dependencies are usually taken from central it might be a settings thing. Settings files can be placed into the maven installation directly or in your user home / .m2 directory or passed to the build with a parameter. So just add the help goals in front of your usual maven goals and then search for the repo name. If it's not showing up one of the dependencies you use may be a bit weird? Then I would search the local maven repository for that uri.
Adding repositories to pom.xml files is no longer encouraged, as they tend to move too frequent and impact the reliability of builds. Usually, companies install a repository mirror like Nexus or Artifactory. Both work by being configured as mirrorOf in settings.xml and proxy all requests made.

GWT Super Dev Mode not compiling latest sources

I have a GWT project using GWT 2.7.0 and am using maven. The app is compiling and running correctly, however, I am struggling to get GWT's Super Dev Mode to work correctly. When I start Super Dev Mode with
mvn gwt:run-codeserver
Super Dev Mode starts correctly, compiles, and the latest changes ARE shown in the browser. However, when I press the compile bookmarklet to recompile the GWT code, the recompile completes correctly and the browser refreshes but does NOT include any subsequent changes I've made to the client/GWT java files.
When starting GWT Super Dev Mode it appears to copy the source files (.java files) from src/main/java into maven's build folder (target) and it appears to be compiling from source files in the target folder rather than those in src/main/java. I've tested this by manually copying a java file I've made changes to from src/main/java into the target folder, and then hitting the compile bookmarklet. When I do this the recompile succeed as before, and the latest changes are shown.
I am assuming I have either missed some configuration that will copy src/main/java into the target folder whenever I hit the compile bookmarklet, or I have misconfigured Super Dev Mode to compile from the target folder when it should be compiling from sources in src/main java
Any help to understand how it should function and resolve this would be appreciated.

https://tbroyer.github.io/gwt-maven-plugin/codeserver.html
Starting with GWT 2.7, you should set the launcherDir property to get recompile on reload. The property should point to a folder that your web server / servlet container will look into for web resources, so that the *.nocache.js file generated by the CodeServer can be loaded by your web browser.
Some time I face that problems and I follow those steps:
1. Clear browser cache
2. Clear GWT cache located in temp folder (in USER_HOME folder, it's based on your OS) and in gwt-unitCache folder (in launcherDir)

Running an Apache Beam/Google Cloud Dataflow job from a maven-built jar

I have a Google Cloud Dataflow job that I'm running from IntelliJ IDEA using the following command string:
compile exec:java -Dexec.mainClass=com.mygroup.mainclass "-Dexec.args=--..."
It runs fine from here, I want to deploy this onto a local server to be run automatically at build time. The args specify pipeline options; at any given build we need to start three different jobs using this pipeline and having to recompile three times is wasteful. So I'm using mvn package to produce a jar file in the following manner:
clean compile assembly:single
The problem is, when I run the pipeline via java -jar my_pipeline-1.0-SNAPSHOT-jar-with-dependencies.jar --args in the project's target directory, I'm getting an exception:
Exception in thread "main" java.lang.IllegalArgumentException:
Unknown 'runner' specified 'DataflowRunner', supported pipeline runners [DirectRunner]
Posts on the Beam mailing list suggest passing -Pdataflow-runner to set the classpath at execution time, but I haven't found a way to make that work if I'm just calling the jar. I've tried specifying the profile during the compile and package steps, but that hasn't helped.
Here's my pom.xml. It might be a little messy; I've been trying the scattershot approach to trying to make this work but nothing has stuck to the wall yet.

Okay, I've solved this. There were a couple of things wrong with my pom.
First, the dependencies were in the wrong order. I moved the beam-runners-google-cloud-dataflow-java dependency to the top of the list and the error I was receiving went away.
I further encountered another exception:
Caused by: java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unable to find registrar for gs.
Following the instructions in this question and building with package instead of assembly, I was able to get my job to start. Whew!
I could fix it by adding activation tag to the dataflow-runner profile, seems missing in WordCount example 2.25 I test.
<activation>
<activeByDefault>true</activeByDefault>
</activation>
