We are using the API of google calendar to create events and we have some invites to that, the problem is that we want to get the Attendance, we know that calendar has the feature Attendance Tracking, and that works perfectly, but we need to get that information from the google API. for now it sends me a email at the end of the meet with an excel with that information. but I need to get it from the API cos, we have a lot of meeting and need to update this information automaticly.
thanks a lot if you give some route or some idea to reach it!!!
I am triging to get this information from the caelndar API V3 following this doc but I just get the event info and attendees, but I need to get the Attendance.

How to find messages in google spaces using chat.api

I want to be able to pull all text messages from a google chat space.
I'm looking at the spaces.messages.getbut it assumes you have the ID of a message. In similar programs (MS Teams), you can call an endpoint to list all message ID and then call the message API to extract the contents of an ID. However, google chat has no such API.
Has anyone come across a way to do this?
This is currently not possible
There is already a respective feature request on Google Issue's Tracker.
I recomment you to star it to increase visibility and hope that it will be implemented soon.

difference in API/session in Google API billing

Not able to differentiate between price per request and price per session in Google API
I'm facing difficulty in
understanding some billing related terms for Google API. I know, this question might be more suited for support directly from Google. I tried but not getting satiesfactory response.
I was going through this URL:
https://developers.google.com/maps/billing/understanding-cost-of-use#ac-per-character
Here both 'price per request' and 'price per session' has been provided.
While I understand the difference between request and session, my question
is related to example provided in the same link, which is like this :
Places Autocomplete Request (input=”paris”, session_token: XYZ)
What I know, in google API, we just pass an API KEY to get results, but above seem to have required session_token. This has confused me. How can I pass session_token, when google has provided just an API KEY to me after creating billing account?
Is API key same as Session_token or does that mean, I need to get session token after 'first' passing API_KEY via code.
I'm not able to find good example explaining this till now.
Thanks for your help !!

How to get place description using Google API or any other API?

I am using Google API to get the place information and store it into database. Using Google API I am able to get address, opening hours, rating and reviews as shown in below image.
But, I am not able to get place description which is highlighted in below image in red circle. ("Quaint Italian mainstay for deep-dish, Chicago-style pizza, calzones, pastas & hot dogs.")
I want that information in my application. I think google is taking those information from
Freebase https://developers.google.com/freebase/guide/basic_concepts
Wikipedia https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/How_to_contribute
But I am not sure.
Can any one help me suggest me that how I can get that information or any other API that I can use to get that information based on google place_id.
Any help would be highly appreciated.
Thank you
Accordingly to the documentation and #xomena, currently you cannot obtain this data via Places API. There is a feature request in Google issue tracker to make the detailed business type available in Places API, however Google doesn't expose any ETA (estimation time of arrival:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/35822953
Feel free to star this feature request to express your interest and subscribe to notification from Google.
To my knowledge it is not possible to get this information from the Google Places API. The API documentation does not display the venue description. Try to have a look here: https://developers.google.com/places/web-service/details (it might be that Google does not share all information from their platform with other developers..).
I would suggest you to do one of the following (or perhaps both):
Scrape Google the old school way; i.e. by getting the information from the HTML. There is a quite decent guide for doing that here (you would of course have to adjust the example to scraping Google instead): https://medium.freecodecamp.org/how-to-scrape-websites-with-python-and-beautifulsoup-5946935d93fe.
What I would recommend and which probably is the fastest: enrich your current data with other data. You could e.g. use Foursquare and search for the places you get from Google. It should be possible to get the description for each place on Foursquare. See here: https://developer.foursquare.com/docs/api/venues/details. If you have problems with matching the places after your query has returned, because the venue names are not exactly the same - but close, then you could use an algorithm to match strings that are close; perhaps using the levenstein distance (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Levenshtein_distance).

Yammer does not return every message in group

Using the following endpoint with the group id and the older_than paging parameter
https://www.yammer.com/api/v1/messages/in_group/[group_id].json?older_than=[msgid(19)]
This does not return every message in that group... it skips messages!
This is a paid network that I am testing, the API is pretty much useless if it does not provide all the messages. Can anyone confirm this limitation!
Using the 'older_than' parameter to try to get all messages isn't going to work:
Reference https://stackoverflow.com/a/19107426/4099849
If you attempt to iterate over messages you will hit some limits. These limits are technical in nature and you would need to revert to the search API to find much older messages. Unfortunately you will have to put up with these limitations if you are dealing with the free version of Yammer as the data export is only available with the paid version.
Assuming you're trying to do some sort of analytics, have a look at the Yammer Data Export API.
There is a similar question : Yammer API - missing messages
The ansnwer is the same and his not acceptable !
When using /api/v1/messages/about_topic/ I get messages not returned by
/api/v1/messages.json
or
/api/v1/messages/in_group
My script respect the API Rate limits and the missing messages are not older than others.
There is something wrong in the API and it must be fixed.
My company is paying for Yammer and expect a reliable API.
If you want all messages inside a group, use below mentioned REST API without all parameters. Then it will list all messages present inside that particular group.
https://www.yammer.com/api/v1/messages/in_group/[group_id].json
