We have enhanced SCDF application starter (Filter processor) adding just a library and rebuilt it.
After the enhancement the expression property does not work at all.
Could you please elaborate what we might have missed?

I have been trying to set up a Spring Web application to use Azure Active Directory.
All the samples that I have found online are based on Spring Boot, is there a simple example that shows setting up spring framework web app only without using Spring Boot?
I am having no luck finding stuff, I am also trying to figure out how to convert all the spring boot autoconfig. Surely there is a sample somewhere that makes it easy to use for a Spring Framework only web-app?
I was able to figure this out somewhat. I'm very new to OAuth so still trying to learn as I go.
Basically I followed the Spring Reference and got things working using the override auto-configuration sections at https://docs.spring.io/spring-security/reference/servlet/oauth2/index.html
It also helped that I updated the Spring Framework versions to the latest and made sure I used the correct dependencies according to that reference site
I want to implement a central spring boot application that responsible for designing business rules with Drools. Here is an example for integrating spring boot with drools. I need to use a UI designer for generating rules in database(rather than drl file), But I don't know how it's possible. I've searched a lot and seen somethings like drools workbench , KIE server, Guvnor and ..., but I don't know what are they and which one is suitable for me. Is there any resources or good documentation for using drools UI in Spring boot application?
I've needed to implement a rules engine, I've searched and choose between Camunda DMN and Drools. I would like to recommend you to use Camunda DMN. It's much more easier to use for rules than Drools.
Camunda DMN has a Spring Boot - starter too.
Camunda has an App (Camunda Modeler) where you can define rules with a simple to use GUI and then deploy them to your Camunda Server. They will be stored in a database. If you want you can integrate your application with another database, so that you can download rules from your Camunda Server and then store them in your Application Database.
A very good and simple example of using Camunda DMN with Spring Boot:

So looks a simple DMN-rule. It will be stored in XML-Format and you can store it as a String in your Database.
I intended to use Spring Data Cloud Spanner starter (version 1.1.0.RC1) with Spring Boot application but cannot find the official document of which Spring Boot version it goes with. Running my app and it works well with Spring Boot 2.x.x but not with Spring Boot version 1.x.x (ClassNotFoundException). Could anyone help:

TL;DR Spring Boot 2.1 but you shouldn't have to care.
Spring Cloud Data Spanner is part of the Spring Cloud GCP project that recently joined the official Spring Cloud release train.
Rather than figuring out which version of a particular library is needed , I'd strongly recommend you to use proper dependency management in your build and let default apply. That way you can select a Spring Cloud generation (i.e. release train) and the dependencies that you need will be managed for you automatically (that is, no need to provide a version for them).
The latest 1.0 RC, RC2 at the time of writing, is part of the Greenwich release train with a RC2 release this week.
To get started with proper dependency management, go to https://start.spring.io and select "GCP Support" to get a build with the proper BOM import. Once you've done that you can add the starter without a version and things will be managed for you.
The relationships between Spring Boot version and Spring Cloud release train is documented here and on start.spring.io as well.
We have started new project on spring stack and using latest versions. But we have workflow requirement and I used activiti in past. But as I see there is no spring boot 2 support for activiti and camunda. Can anybody suggest which BPM is best that can be integrated with spring boot 2.
You will find a bunch of Spring Boot 2 starters in the Flowable github repo.
The documentation explains step-by-step how to create a BPM enabled Spring Boot application. There is also the blog post The road to Spring Boot 2.0 that the improved support for Flowable within Spring Boot as part of the Flowable 6.3.0 release.
You ask for suggestions on which BPM is best. Well, I cannot be objective since I am part of the Flowable Team, but I can say that our Spring Boot implementation is pretty neat:
All engines are supported (BPMN, CMMN, DMN), both embedded and exposing their respective REST APIs.
There is an automatic configuration of Spring Security to use the Flowable IDM engine (in case no other custom security is configured).
There is no "EE" version of the starter. Flowable provides Spring Boot 2 support 100% Open Source.
The Spring Actuator integration is quite powerful.
Did I mention Open Source? ;-)
In order to get the all engines you would need to use the flowable-spring-boot-starter(-rest) dependency. The (-rest) needs to be used if you want the Flowable REST APIs to be automatically configured.
There is also the option to run the BPMN, CMMN or DMN engines in standalone mode. For that you would need one of the following dependencies:
flowable-spring-boot-starter-process(-rest)
flowable-spring-boot-starter-cmmn(-rest)
flowable-spring-boot-starter-dmn(-rest)
So, compare for yourself, but for me, it's pretty clear and of course I am open to discussion.
The Activiti is working on Activiti Cloud fully based on Spring Boot 2 and Spring Cloud Finchley (targeting kubernetes deployments, but it can be used outside kubernetes if that is not your thing) if you are looking for a BPMN runtime for Cloud Native applications. We are working hard on releasing the first Beta1 release at the moment, and we will very welcome feedback about it. Hope this helps.
If you use the camunda-bpm-spring-boot-starter you can write self contained services running camunda process engine with spring boot 2.
Is it possible to integrate activiti explorer maven plugin with activiti Spring boot app?, so that we can make use of activit-explorer to view deployed process in activit-spring boot engine.
I know we can use rest-api over spring boot to query process engine, but I want to know if it is possible to run the explorer over spring boot by adding it as a maven plugin during deployment?Or can we tweak the activit-explorer.war somehow to point to spring-boot activiti engine?

I thought of answering my own question so that it will be useful for other developers with similar requirement. If you want to make an eco-system where activiti-rest, explorer and your custom end points co-exist, please refer this thread from activit forum. I have tried this and is working fine. link to thread
I would like to give my observation here. In order to avoid getting into pulling source and trying to build myself, I achieved partial success, by installing the activit-explorer as part of the usual standalone installation.Started the standalone activiti-explorer using Apache-Tomcat but I configured the database for Activiti as same as (MYSQL in my case) I used in my spring-boot application to hit the common ground.
But apparently the activiti version in my spring boot app was 5.19.0.0 and that for activiti-explorer was 5.22.0.0, which created some misalignment for spring boot application startup to fail. I am hopeful that with matching versions it might succeed. When I get some more time on me I will try and update. Since then may be someone can use this route.
