Intellij MavenWrapperDownloader.java: Can not resolve symbol error

Setup:
Intellij IDEA community edition 2020.2
Spring Bott starter parent: 2.3.5
Java 11
WRAPPER_VERSION: 0.5.6
mvn 2
Hi,
I googled a lot e.g. here but I just can't fix it.
I created a new mvn spring project with Intellij. When I commit the project I get errors detected by code analyses in class: MavenWrapperDownloader.java.
e.g. It reports:
Cannot resolve symbol String
I tried:
invalidate caches and restart
delete .idea folder and reimport
checked sdk setup
mvn reimport
mvn clean and then rebuild (while the build is always successful)
I'm pretty new to maven. I guess the scope of the mvn package might be wrong because the build process works as expected.
UPDATE:
I reinstallt my openjdk11. No success. Then I found out that my .mvn/wrapper dir is not set as source root. I know that was never the case in my other projects. As a trial I've set my .mvn folder as source root and now the MavenWrapperDownloader.java file is recognized as a java class and the compiler interprets the symbols. But now there is another error. It says I have to define a package name for that class because the class does not have one per default. It is pretty strange to me. I also tried to use another spring boot starter version but nothing changed
When I execute Analyze->inspect code I get the following:
I had the same problem and File -> Invalidate Caches/Restart fixed it - at least for now.
IntelliJ Ultimate 2020.3
Spring Boot Starter Parent 2.4.2
Java 15
Maven 4.0.0
Maven Wrapper 0.5.6
The easiest solution is to generate your project again with Spring Starter.
After you set up everything you need at pom file -> Generate -> Download it.
Open with your IDE and copy-paste all code sources which you have already written.

How to add a JRE 1.8 into Eclipse Installer JRE?

I am trying deploy my Spring Boot application to Elastic Beanstalk.
The problem that I am facing right now is, my application is developed with Tomcat 9, Java 13 and Project Facet 4.0.
So when I deployed to a AWS environment, I kept getting error. After researching, I found out AWS only support Tomcat 8, Java 8 and Project Facet 3.0.
I managed to change Project Facet 4.0 to 3.0.
But I can't add Java 8 to the project.
I downloaded the JDK 8 from Oracle, and tried open jdk-8u251-macosx-x64.dmg and run JDK 8 Update 251.pkg.
The system keeps giving me error that: "JDK 8 Update 251.pkg" can't be opened because Apple cannot check it for malicious software. This software needs to be updated.
Anyone know how to fix this problem so that I can run JRE 8 on eclipse?
Here is picture the problem that I have when I deploy the app to AWS.
An internal error occurred during: Updating AWS Elastic Beanstalk environment
Here is the thread that I tried to follow but without success:
https://github.com/aws/aws-toolkit-eclipse/issues/149.
Can you elaborate where exactly are you seeing the error? While running the JDK package or while configuration the JDK within Eclipse?
Nevertheless, I suppose your main requirement is to get your Eclipse to use Java 8.
It can be done in multiple ways.
Usually you can change Java compiler level to 1.8 from Project Settings even if you're using Java 13.
If you're using Maven, you can specify compiler source and target to Java 1.8
<maven.compiler.source>1.8</maven.compiler.source>
<maven.compiler.target>1.8</maven.compiler.target>
Alternatively, you can download the JDK 8 zip instead of installer, unzip to any location and use that in Window > Preferences > Java > Installed JREs. Be sure to mark that one as default JRE.

Importing old Play 2.3.4 project into IntelliJ gives SERVER ERROR: HTTPS Required

When importing a Play project (Play 2.3.4, Scala 2.11.4, sbt 0.13.5) into IntelliJ IDEA I get the following error message:
SERVER ERROR: HTTPS Required url=http://repo1.maven.org/maven2/jline/jline/2.11/jline-2.11.pom
According to the latest IntelliJ docs, only Play versions 2.4 and later are supported. So I downloaded an old IntelliJ version from 2016 (2016.2.5), which should have worked because the project was in active development with this IDE version back then. After finding a this article stating the Maven repo has deprecated http in favor of https, I'm not sure if the IntelliJ version mismatch is even the cause of this issue. However, the build was ok in 2016, and now I cannot fix this problem even if I create a settings.xml for Maven as described here... I still get the same error. I also tried to enable the "Override" setting in IntelliJ->Preferences->Build->Build Tools->Maven->User Settings File and pointed it to a settings.xml copy in a different folder. In both IntelliJ versions (2019.3.3 and 2016.2.5) I installed the Scala plugin directly in the IDE.
What am I doing wrong? How can I get IntelliJ to use the mirrors from my custom settings.xml?
Command-line already ran only by overriding the sbt repository as shown in this answer, IDE-based build still didn't recognize this file.
Finally solved it by bumping the sbt version at least one minor version up, to >=0.13.6 (source), from then on sbt itself uses a secure connection to the Maven repository.

UnsupportedClassVersion - JacksonAutoDiscoverable

I'm trying to use IBM Rational Application Developer version 9.0 with WebSphere Application Server v7.0 running Java 1.6 and use JAX-RS with org.glassfish.jersey version 2.6. This is not a maven project, so I created another maven project, added the root dependencies there and built it so it pulled down all of the jars. I moved them over into my non-maven project.
When I run the project, I start the server (or try to hit a resource) I get the following error message: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: JVMCFRE003 bad major version; class=org/glassfish/jersey/jackson/internal/JacksonAutoDiscoverable, offset=6
I have a different application that successfully uses jersey deployed WAS7 on this same machine. I've compared the project and server configurations and see no major difference, particularly no difference in the Installed JRE", Execution Environments or Java Compiler Compliance Level (all using 1.6).
Even though the maven project is using jersey 2.6, I have also tried other lower jersey versions in the non-maven project to see if it's an issue with the dependencies being built for 1.7 but that doesn't seem to be the case at all.
Here is the list of dependencies I have in my library:
