NullPointerException when testing "createCustomer" method from "CustomerService" - spring-boot

Question

The second line last line of this CustomerServiceTest method gives a NullPointerException. I have seen some posts which mention that Junit4 & 5 should not be used together in the same code so I checked if my code has any Juint4 stuff in it and I found that the when() method is from Juint4, could that be the cause of this issue or is it something else?

TLDR:
Use
#InjectMocks
private CustomerService underTest;
You are mixing annotations from different test approaches:
MockitoExtension, Mock and InjectMocks - if you only want a couple of Mocks and Class Under test
SpringBootTest, MocBean and Autowired - if you want Spring to create application context (and test a slice of your application together with spring classes)
For a unit test of a service, the first approach is usually enough, results in faster test execution and less noise from interaction with Spring.
