What is the latest version of IE supported on Windows Server 2008 SP2 (Non-R2) and does Windows Server 2008 SP2 support Microsoft EDGE?
From this doc, we can know that Windows Server 2008 approached end of support. IE browser's support is along with OS support. If the OS is end of support, IE is also end of support on the OS.
For the server versions Edge supports, you can refer to this doc. It seems that Edge supports Windows Server 2008 R2 not Windows Server 2008 SP2.
When I try to use iPhone simulator, I get an error that VS2017 cannot connect to MAC.
Configuration and software:
Visual Studio 2017 15.2 (26430.14)
Mac OS Sierra 10.12
Latest XCode installed on Mac and the licence is accepted
On Mac, remote login is enabled
Firewall is disabled on Mac
In VS when I try to connect to Mac, I can see the MacBook but I just can't connect using username and password I use for login to Mac
I am however able to connect using ssh:
From your description I suggest that:
Xamarin studio should be installed
Xamarin.iOS SDK should be installed
You should be logged in with that account on your mac.
A Mac running OS X El Capitan (10.11) or higher (although the latest stable version is recommended).
Xamarin Studio 5.10 or higher (although the latest stable version is recommended)). This should be on the same distribution channel as Xamarin for Visual Studio.
Xamarin.iOS SDK.
Appleās Xcode(7+) IDE and iOS SDK (although the latest stable version from the App Store is recommended)).

My laptop supports all the hardware requirements for running windows phone 8 sdk.
It has Windows 8 basic and not the Pro version.I have enabled Intel Virtual technology in the BIOS.But,Hyper-v client is not available in the windows features to activate Virtual machine.
Is there any way/possibility to run Windows Phone 8 sdk emulator and tools with Windows 8 basic OS?
You need to install a Pro version of Windows 8 in order to run the emulator. I think you can install the SDK, as far as your Windows 8 is a 64bit version, and develop with vs2012 and the SDK, but you need to use a device for testing.
If your Windows 8 edition isn't a 64bits one, you can't install even the SDK to develop.
This is such a terrible answer, the Win8 Standard edition comes in 64-bit and the SDK installation DOES NOT inform you that it will require Win8 Pro for the emulator. There is no "real" reason why you can't use the Standard edition except for Microsoft wanting you to upgrade to Pro.
I use windows server 2008r2 for development. I want try work with Windows phone 7 SDK. But it available only for Windows7 and Vista.
Is there some trick for development on WinServer?
I did this with the v7.0 version of the tools by following the instructions at Buliding Windows Phone 7 projects on Windows Server 2008
I have tried with the Mango tools though (as don't need to build on Server anymore).
There is no provision to develop WP7 applications on Windows Server 2008 or R2.
There is a workaround to compile WP7 projects on Windows Server 2008, which supports TFS builds, but as far as development on the platform the installer prevents you from doing that. Frustrating, to say the least!
Is there any possibility to install Sql Server 2005 enterprise on Windows 7?
thank you
SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition is not supported on client OS's like Vista, XP, or Windows 7. Developer Edition is supported on the client OS's and allow you to develop with Enterprise features, but Enterprise Edition is only supported on Window Server Installations as per the BOL:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms143506(SQL.90).aspx
Yep, works fine.
Make sure that you install it before Visual Studio, and also make sure you enable these Windows features first:
Common HTTP Features
Static Content
Default Document
HTTP Redirection
Directory Browsing
Application Development
ASP.Net
ISAPI Extension
ISAPI Filters
Security
Windows Authentication
IIS6
IIS 6 WMI
IIS Metabase
Then install SP2 at least, but preferably SP3
Yes it is possible:

You'll need to use Service Pack 3
Enterprise edition does work only on Server OSs (Server 2k3 2k8 ...) if you are just using it for development try Sql server developer edition it has the same features as Enterprise and it is way cheaper (But it can be used for development only).
