Vivado HW manager does not detect my ARTY A7 - fpga

I installed Vivado(2022.2) ML Standard with all the drivers on Windows 10. As I try to auto or manual connect ARTY A7 in Vivado hardware manager the device doesen't show up.
What I tried:
Changed USB cable,
Connect device to other PC, where it is working!,
Reinstalling vivado,
Reinstalling cable drivers by running install_drivers_wrapper.bat in vivado installation file nt64,
Reinstalling cable drivers by the following instructions I know they are for windows 7, but that was out of despair
What I found:
It is stil not working, but in my device manager I only see USB Serial Converter B, but as I was reading and saw on othaer computer where it is working, there were USB Serial Converter A and B.

OK, so it is working now. I installed adept and it detected my device and after that Vivado hardware manager detects it too.

Using Putty to connect to a Cisco 4010 via built in usb port results in error 1450. Using windows 10 build 19044

I'm attempting to connect to a Cisco 4010 network switch via it's built in usb port (which internally is a usb to rs232 adapter wired to the back of the console port).
I have installed the Cisco usb console drivers version 3.1
When I plug into the usb port, the little green LED that indicates that the console port has switched to usb does not light up.
When I run putty, and attempt to connect via serial connection to COM16 (the usb to rs232 in the cisco switch) I get:
Unable to open connection to COM16
Opening '\.\COM16': Error 1450: Insufficient System resources exist to complete the requested service.
I have tried reinstalling the drivers to no effect.
I have 3 identical switches, which give me identical behaviour, all 3 new out of the box with no programming.
Changing the Baud rate makes no difference, not that I'm expecting it to as the issue seems to be COM16 doesn't exist or similar
Putty Settings and Device Manager
With the help of a colleague, we narrowed the issue down to windows using a default usb to rs232 driver rather than the cisco one I had installed. The big clue came when I tried using putty inside a VM and it worked, while on the host OS I was still getting error 1450.
We had to compeletely uninstall all drivers, reboot, reinstall drivers manually, reboot, then attempt the usb connection again.

I will copy the solution across to here, for easier search of the solution for the next person who has the same issue.
For WIn10 , install the setup(x64).exe from the Cisco_usbconsole_driver_3_1.zip.
Check that the Cisco Serial (Comx) is using the correct driver provider which should be Cisco. Don't use the Cypress driver.
Device Manager
To update the driver,
If you installed it already and having issues, uninstall it using the setup(x64),exe then reboot PC.
Uninstall Cisco Driver
First, disconnect the blue Cisco USB console cable. Reinstall the Cisco USB console drive using setup(x64).exe from the Windows_64 folder which was extracted from file Cisco_usbconsole_driver_3_1.zip.
Reboot PC
Open device manager to observe the driver installation. Check that you see "Cisco USB to Serial Adapter". If you don't see it repeat the above steps.

Update Driver
Click UPDATE DRIVER, then Browse my computer for driver software.
Choose " Let me pick from a list of available driers on my Computer." Select "Cisco Serial".
Pick driver
Finally,. connect to the COM port x indicated in the Device Manager, Ports (COM & LPT) , Cisco Serial (COMx)

Cannot open COM port on ESP32 device. Using Windows10 and MPFShell

I can open my ESP32 Vroom32 device made by Espressif with a cp2101 chip on Ubuntu. I used Ubuntu to flash Micropython onto it, however when I try to connect with Putty, MPFshell or anything else on Windows 10 it will not work. I downloaded and installed the recommended drivers for it and also updated Windows which was supposed to load the driver as well. I can see the device and COM port in device manager but when I attempt to connect I get blocked. For example on MPFshell I get the message "Cannot connect to COM17"
It is a common reason for boards to show the "Cannot Connect to COM" error because of a bad USB cable.
Always check with another cable first, before getting deeper to the problem.

USB Serial reset every 15 minutes [Win 10]

I am developing on an ARM Mbed board which connects to my Windows laptop over USB. I've just moved to a new Dell laptop running Win 10 [from a Dell laptop running Win 7] and I find that the laptop resets my development board every 15 minutes.
There are two things that will cause the ARM Mbed board to reset:
powering down/up the USB connection
sending "break" via the USB serial driver.
When the reset occurs there is nothing of note in the Windows event logs. I have all of the "allow Windows to power me down" boxes unticked on the USB hubs in System devices and in the Control Panel power management options.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how I (a) debug what's going on or (b) fix/workaround the problem? I've not yet tried connecting via a powered USB hub, will do that next...
I had the same issue using a FRDM-K64F running mBed and communicating over a USB COM port to a Windows 7 Dell machine. The communication would sometimes drop out. As #Rob suggested, uninstalling the Dell Support Assist Agent completely fixed the issue.
Just adding this answer as it was very difficult to find any information using google.

I have a Dell 5480 running Windows 10, and started using from ST Nucleo boards on it. I've used the exact same boards at work, with no problems. Every 15minutes or so the board was reset.
I tried disabling the Dell Support Assist services but this did not seem to fix the problem.
Removing the programs did make the Nucleo work.

Real ICE with PIC18f26 on MPLAB 8.83 - Can't make it work

I'm trying to use my real ice board under mplab 8.83.
I have already fixed some issues thanks to the microchip forum but sadly I have one last error that keeps coming up.
Few minutes ago it was :
Target Device ID not detected
and now that is not showing anymore but I get :
Target Device ID (00000000) does not match expected Device ID (00004c40).
I have switched the driver from MPLAB X to MPLAB 8, the self test of the real ice is working just fine. I also have tried to connect/disconnect the board. I have also tried with a ICD2 without success.
I am working with Windows 7, 64-bit.
It has nothing with Real ICE or ICD2 since it complains about device on your target board. You have to check connections between debuggers (ICD2, REAL ICE...) and hardware. If connection on ICD header is OK, next you have to check is power supply on hardware board.
Eventually I was able to solve my problem.
It turns out, that having forgotten to install the MLA library, Windows was considering the REAL ICE as a common usb device (such as thumb drive). It was listed as "Custom USB Device --> WinUSB device" in the Device Manager.
After re-installation of everything (MPLAB, C18, MLA) , the REAL ICE is listed as "Custom USB Device --> Microchip Custom USB Device" and it works perfectly !!!

Can anyone help me with an Unrecognized device: Device descriptor request failed error on Windows 8.1?

I have a Metrologic MS1690 Barcode scanner that I'm trying to use with Windows 8.1, I get a Unrecognized Device: Device descriptor request failed error in devices and printers. The scanner gets no power from the computer when it is plugged in because of this. It usually shows up as a usb keyboard in windows 8 and 7, but with 8.1 it does not and I can't find an answer anywhere. Please help! Or even if someone could tell me how to get a generic usb keyboard driver for this thing that may help as well. Thanks.

Bit of a guess, but there was a change in Win8.1 that can affect HID devices like this. Such devices are now suspended when no application or service is accessing it. This can cause the device to misbehave if it depends on receiving timely power to operate correctly.
The workaround is to disable Enhanced Power Management for the device. The instructions are pretty elaborately spelled-out in this blog post. At break-neck speed: use Regedit.exe, locate the device in the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SYSTEM\ CurrentControlSet\ Enum\ USB key and set the EnhancedPowerManagementEnabled value to 0.
The "solution" for me has been to add a PCI-E USB card, and use that for the scanner. I went with this one from Rosewill because it uses an NEC chipset which I have heard good things about.
After installing the provided drivers for the PCI-E card, the scanner seems to enumerate consistently (I have only been able to test it for a couple days so far).
According to the person I bought my scanner from, it's an issue with the USB chipset on the motherboard. Some are compatible and some aren't. If I had to do it over again, I would go with an RS232 cable and a power adapter instead of USB. I haven't tested that setup, but if your app needs serial data like mine does, it should be more reliable given that it's not dependent on the vagaries of integrated USB chipsets.
