I have a Spring Boot application on port 5000 that I am trying to deploy to ECS fargate. When I build it as Docker image locally I can easily do 80:5000 and do not need the port on the URL.
I cannot seem to do above on ECS fargate.
When I set the container port to 5000 in the Task definition. It created it like this:

I tried fixing it as JSON, but I received an error messages that host and container ports must match.
Like this, I had to open in the security group a TCP inbound rule for port 5000 and I need to visit my application's public IP with the 5000 port. It does not work without it (port 80 is opened in the security group also).
I have done this before with ALBs and services of more than 1 container and it works fine with a domain name or the dns of the load balancer without the 5000 port.
Can I achieved this with a single container? Sorry for my noobness.

No. You would either need to modify your SpringBoot app to listen on port 80, or add an Application Load Balancer in front of the ECS service. Note that even if you configured the container to listen on port 80 that's still very insecure. If you are exposing an ECS container to web browsers you should absolutely be using an Application Load Balancer configured with an AWS ACM SSL certificate to make the connection between the web browser and AWS secure.

I have a springboot app running at port 8080 at one of the GCP instance. I have turned on the firewall rules to allow traffic to port 8080. But still when I try to access the deployed port [ http://external-IP:8080/myservice ] I am not able to. From browser I get "This site can be reached" and from postman I get the error Error: connect ECONNREFUSED :8080

I have ElasticBeanstalk environment which should be exposed to the Internet via HTTPS port but also exposed via HTTP only to some instances inside my cloud. It therefore has 2 listeners. EB auto-sets a "HTTP ANY IP" inbound rule for the LoadBalancer security group of my env.
Now, I have defined a Route 53 alias to my EB environment, e.g. "myenv.company.internal". Next, I curl "http://env1.company.internal" from some EC2 instance and it works only if the inbound rules are "HTTP ANY IP". If I try to limit HTTP only to the security group of my EC2 instance, that instance cannot curl.

You can't do this for internet facing ALB. If you setup env1.company.internal private hosted zone record for public ALB, it will just resolve to public IP addresses of the ALB.
Therefore, you can't use SGs in ALB SG ingress rules to limit traffic. That's why it works with HTTP ANY IP, but not with reference SGs.
If you want to overcome this issue, you can attach an Elastic IP to your other instance, and limit port 80 on ALB to only allow connections from the Elastic IP address. For more instances, you can use NAT gateway's public IP address.
I am running airflow(version 1.10.10) webserver on EC2 behind AWS ELB

in front of ELB , i configured a route53 and set a fqdn to the web server say: abc.fqdn
all the page loading are working, like
https://abc.fqdn/admin/ or
https://abc.fqdn/admin/airflow/tree?dag_id=tutorial
all the web form submission are working , like
Trigger DAG
however, after form submission, the page is forwarded to an http and the page did not load due to the elb listener.
I have to manually change to https such as https://admin/airflow/tree?dag_id=tutorial

Did I do anything wrong? How to make may web node forward to https after form submission?
For https I used an ALB instead… Had to setup the Airflow web server to have a crt (generated self signed with the domain that will be used by the ALB) then serving on port 8443 (choose anything you like), then set the ALB to route https to the target group the webserver ASG instances are in for 8443; and you tell the ALB to use the signed cert that you already have (not the self signed that's on the instance) in your AWS account (probably).
Oh and change the baseURL to https schema.
I had trouble with the ELB because I was directing similarly 443 with cert in AWS account to 8080, but 8080 was unencrypted…
I created a java app and I deployed into a Google Cloud Compute Engine, then I created a Load Balancer, but when I try to access to Load Balancer Frontend IP with port 443 it redirect to port 80

I am new to MQTT and have been trying to implement MQTT MOquette on AWS EC2, i tried the configuration and installation of broker on my machine and was able to connect and test it from client, however when i do the same from Aws EC2 instance i can see the ports 1883, 8080 listening to 0.0.0.0 ip address but when i connect from client i am not able to connect.
While configuring host in local machine i provided 0.0.0.0 for host and ports 1883, 8080 and on AWS server i provided the private ip for host and ports are 1883, 8080. I have added rules in security groups to allow tcp on 1883 & 8080.
My question is what should be the host value i should use on AWS like private ip or aws url like 'ec2-XX-XX-XXX-XX.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com' and what would be the url from which i could access broker from client like 'tcp://ec2-XX-XX-XXX-XX.us-west-2.compute.amazonaws.com' or the IP
What would i be doing wrong here ?? stuck with this issue

After some search i was finally able to solve the issue, i was always checking for security groups where everything was right but i missed adding rule in ec2 instance firewall for the ports 1883, 8080. Once its done i was able to connect to the broker from external clients.
