In the PokeApi REST API Pokemon varieties are returned inside the species model on the varieties field at the endpoint https://pokeapi.co/api/v2/pokemon-species/{id or name}/
However I can't seem to find them in the new GraphQL console https://beta.pokeapi.co/graphql/console/
anybody know where this model lives?
Found it
query MyQuery {
pokemon_v2_pokemon(where: {id: {_eq: 6}}) {
id
pokemon_v2_pokemonspecy {
pokemon_v2_pokemons {
pokemon_v2_pokemonforms {
name
}
}
}
}
}

I am trying to bulk update the price on multiple product variants at once. I'm just copying the "interactive" example from Shopify's page
All I did was copy and paste the code and put in my own id's. And of course it does not work.
It looks like this:
mutation productVariantsBulkUpdate($variants: [ProductVariantsBulkInput!]!, $productId: ID!) {
productVariantsBulkUpdate(variants: $variants, productId: $productId) {
product {
cursor
}
productVariants {
cursor
}
userErrors {
code
field
message
}
}
}
With Variables like this:
{
"variants": [
{
id: "gid://shopify/ProductVariant/39369514385591",
price: "50.00"
}
],
"productId": "gid://shopify/Product/6591908577463"
}
I'm getting this error:
Variables are invalid JSON: Unexpected token i in JSON at position 30.
It's OK for me. (with some quick tweaks)
I tweaked the request a little since the cursor is not present in the product/variant object, don't know why Shopify has not updated the example in their docs.
mutation productVariantsBulkUpdate($variants: [ProductVariantsBulkInput!]!, $productId: ID!) {
productVariantsBulkUpdate(variants: $variants, productId: $productId) {
product {
id
}
productVariants {
id
price
}
userErrors {
code
field
message
}
}
}
So try to fix the query and remove the cursor object and check if you are using the proper end-point since the bulk operation is available in the unstable version only if I'm not mistaken.
See the image below showing that the response is OK for me.
I'm trying to get my hands on Gatsby + Strapi development (adding Material for styling), I'm new to both Gatsby and Strapi although I have some basic knowledge of React and it's making the way easier to follow.
I'm using this Gatsby Starter: https://www.gatsbyjs.org/starters/Vagr9K/gatsby-material-starter/ which includes the Material design I'm trying to achieve, but I'm having some trouble changing the Markdown queries to Strapi queries to avoid making a lot of code changes (posts are exactly the same but stored in Strapi). I have three Content Types in Strapi corresponding to the three different pages the original starter provides: Post, Category, and Tag.
This is the original MarkdownRemark graphQL query included in the post.jsx template:
query BlogPostBySlug($slug: String!) {
markdownRemark(fields: { slug: { eq: $slug } }) {
html
timeToRead
excerpt
frontmatter {
title
cover
date
category
tags
}
fields {
slug
date
}
}
}
How can I change it to retrieve the same info from Strapi?
I'm really new to this Strapi world so I'm having a lot of doubts with the GraphQL, as I can't follow the guide from the Markdown query because the Information displayed is not the same.
I'm also having trouble differentiating between allStrapiArticles and StrapiArticle, what's the main purpose of those?
EDIT: I've been testing the existing queries on GraphiQL to check what they are returning and this is what I'm seeing:
For the tag.jsx query:
query TagPage($tag: String) {
allMarkdownRemark(
limit: 1000
sort: { fields: [fields___date], order: DESC }
filter: { frontmatter: { tags: { in: [$tag] } } }
) {
totalCount
edges {
node {
fields {
slug
date
}
excerpt
timeToRead
frontmatter {
title
tags
cover
date
}
}
}
}
}
GraphiQL returns nothing:
{
"data": {
"allMarkdownRemark": {
"totalCount": 0,
"edges": []
}
}
}
For the category.jsx query:
query CategoryPage($category: String) {
allMarkdownRemark(
limit: 1000
sort: { fields: [fields___date], order: DESC }
filter: { frontmatter: { category: { eq: $category } } }
) {
totalCount
edges {
node {
fields {
slug
date
}
excerpt
timeToRead
frontmatter {
title
tags
cover
date
}
}
}
}
}
In this case, everything works fine and it retrieves article data.
And for the case of the query I've added as an example in this post (upper part of the question) I'm getting the following error:
"errors": [
{
"message": "Variable \"$slug\" of required type \"String!\" was not provided."
...
Make sure you are passing your variable in through Query Variables at the bottom of GraphiQL.
First, I would query AllMarkdownRemark to make sure you're getting the nodes from Gatsby. Something like:
query MyQuery {
allMarkdownRemark {
edges {
node {
fields {
slug
}
frontmatter {
title
}
}
}
}
}
If the slug is showing up, then this should work:
Sometimes a slug is not being generated. Which should show up checking allMarkdownRemark.
I have a GraphQL query called myAccounts which returns an array of accounts. When I go to the Playground and call the query:
{
accounts {
email
}
}
I get this result:
"data": {
"accounts": [
{
"email": "zach#email-one.com",
},
{
"email": "zach#email-two.com",
}
]
}
However, when I am in my Component, vue-apollo returns two items in the array, but seems to overwrite the second item with the first. Here is the query (in MyAccounts.gql):
query myAccounts {
accounts: myAccounts {
email
}
}
and here is the Apollo query in the component:
import MY_ACCOUNTS_QUERY from '~/apollo/queries/MyAccounts'
...
apollo: {
accounts: {
query: MY_ACCOUNTS_QUERY,
result(data) {
console.log(JSON.stringify(data))
}
}
}
and here is what vue-apollo logs out through the result:
{
"data":{
"accounts":[
{
"email":"zach#email-one.com",
"__typename":"Account"
},
{
"email":"zach#email-one.com",
"__typename":"Account"
}
]
},
"loading":false,
"networkStatus":7,
"stale":false
}
Expected behavior
I would expect the data returned in the Playground to be identical to what vue-apollo is fetching.
Versions
vue: 2.6.10
vue-apollo: #nuxtjs/apollo: 4.0.0-rc18
Additional context
I thought the result hook would be the best way to debug, but any other suggestions gladly welcomed. I assumed that this was a bug in our code, but I cannot figure out what could be causing the repetition (and mismatch).
Apollo normalizes its cache based on the __typename and the id (or _id) field. You need to include an id or _id field in your selection set alongside email. Failing to do so results in both objects being assigned the same key. If you don't have an id field to request, you'll need to provide a custom dataIdFromObject function as shown here.
From Guillaume Chau (https://github.com/Akryum):
This is because the Apollo Client cache can't compute a different ID
for the two items, so you endup with Account:undefined (or similar)
for both. Open the Apollo devtools and look at the myAccounts key in
the cache.

I am trying to list a set of articles by their categories, by uid, and I'm assuming that I would have to use the where query, but I'm not able to get that to worked on linked documents.
The issue seems to be that where only accepts a string on a field, but in the case of a linked document you would need to dig down to the uid field.
I'm not sure if I'm using the wrong query, but struggling to find anything in the documentation to help me out.
I tried digging into the category object:
{
allDirectoryServices(
where: { category: { _meta: { uid: "developers" } } }
) {
edges {
node {
name
city
region
country
category {
...on DirectoryTaxonomy {
_meta {
uid
}
name
}
}
}
}
}
}
But that returns an error that it's expecting a string:
"message": "Expected type String, found {_meta: {uid: \"developers\"}}.",
{
allDirectoryServices(
where: { category: "developers"}
) {
edges {
node {
name
city
region
country
category {
...on DirectoryTaxonomy {
_meta {
uid
}
name
}
}
}
}
}
}
This returns no results, obviously.
I asked this question on the Prismic Slack group too, and got the answer from them:
In order to query by a Content Relationship / Link field like this, you need to use the document ID.
where: { category: "WBsLfioAABNUo9Kk" }
Unfortunately it isn’t possible to query by the UID (or any other field).
I imagine they will be updating their documentation soonish, as this isn't covered by it.
Thanks to the Prismic guys!
I'm trying to have a representation of nodes on GraphQL more akin to what jsonapi would be like http://jsonapi.org/
What I mean is if we take one of the examples on GraphQL
{
hero {
name
# Queries can have comments!
friends {
name
}
}
}
Have a representation that would be more along these lines
{
hero {
name
# Queries can have comments!
friends {
id
}
},
friends {
id, name
}
}
Is that at all possible in GraphQL
Thanks
It is possible, and there's nothing wrong with having a friends field. In GraphQL terms you can have the following part of the schema:
type User {
id: ID
name: String
firends: [User]
}
type RootQuery {
hero: User
friends(forUserId: ID!): [User]
}
And then you can query this as you like – you can ask for friends separately:
{
friends(forUserId: "12") {
id, name
}
}
But the whole idea of GraphQL is that you don't have to do multiple queries to get the information you need. If you just need a list of users – that's a reasonable query, that most people have (with arguments for pagination and so on). With that said, there's no reason to fetch a list of IDs and to send another fetch query for the data right after that.
