Here is my controller
I would like to attach a file that was requested from Postman API, please help me to solve my problem.
$p = new PersonAskPermission();
$p->start = $request->start;
$p->end = $request->end;
$p->day = $request->day;
$p->person_id = $request->person_id;
$fileTemp = $request->file('file');
$fileExtension = $fileTemp->getClientOriginalExtension();
$fileName = Str::random(4). '.'. $fileExtension;
$path = $fileTemp->storeAs(
'apiDocs', $fileName
);
$p->getTypes()->attach($p_type);
$p->getReasons()->attach($p_reason);
return response()->json([
'message' => 'Permission Reason created successfully!',
'data' => $p
]);
}

Recently I wanted to separate my project in different services to I wanted to make blogs independent from the project.
In the first project i have written this code. I want to send the data that i get from the form to another API http://127.0.0.1:100/api/saveBlog
public function update(Request $request, $blog)
{
if (!$blog instanceof Blog) {
$blog = $this->getById($blog);
}
$response = Http::post("http://127.0.0.1:100/api/saveBlog",[
'name' => $request->input('name'),
'description' => $request->input('description'),
'name' => $request->input('name'),
'photto' => $request->file('photto')
]);
dd($response->status());
}
In the API service i am trying to read the data
Route::post("/saveBlog",function (Request $request){
$blog = new Blog();
$blog->name = $request->input('name');
$blog->description = $request->input('description');
$blog->name = $request->input('name');
$main = $request->file('photto');
$fileName = microtime() . '.' . $main->getClientOriginalExtension();
$img = Image::make($main->getRealPath());
$img->resize(400, 400);
$img->stream();
Storage::disk('local')->put('public/blogs/' . $fileName, $img, 'public');
$blog->image_path = "/storage/blogs/" . $fileName;
return $blog->save();
});
But i am getting 500 status error and blog is not being saved in database.
I think the problem is with $request->file('photto')
ANY IDEA?
check whether image exist in request like below
if($request->has('photto')){
$main = $request->file('photto');
$fileName = microtime() . '.' . $main->getClientOriginalExtension();
$img = Image::make($main->getRealPath());
$img->resize(400, 400);
$img->stream();
Storage::disk('local')->put('public/blogs/' . $fileName, $img, 'public');
$blog->image_path = "/storage/blogs/" . $fileName;
}
Updates
$photo = fopen(public_path('/storage/filename'), 'r');
$response = Http::
attach('photo', $photo)
->post($url, [
'param_1' => 'param_1 contents',
...
]);
problem is that company_photo stores in database but not store in company_photos folder, please tell me where i going wrong..
public function update(Request $request, Company $company,CompanyOtherInfo $CompanyOtherInfo )
{
//dd($company);
//dd(request()->all());
if($request->hasFile('company_photo')){
$files=public_path().'/company_photos/'.$req->input('company_photo1');
File::delete($files);
//dd($files);
$file = $req->file('company_photo');
$destinationPath = public_path().'/company_photos/';
$filename = $file->getClientOriginalName();
$file->move($destinationPath, $filename);
// echo $filename;
}
else{
$filename=$request->input('company_photo1');
}
//dd($request);
//dd($filename);
$company::where('companies.company_id',$company->company_id)
->update([
'company_photo' => $filename,
'company_name' => request('company_name'),
'company_email' => request('company_email'),
'company_mobile' => request('company_mobile'),
'company_country' => request('company_country'),
'company_state' => request('company_state'),
'company_city' => request('company_city'),
'company_pincode' => request('company_pincode'),
'company_address' => request('company_address'),
'industry_id' => request('industry_id'),
'segment_id' => request('segment_id'),
'company_code' => request('company_code'),
'contact_person'=>request('contact_person'),
]);
The issue you had is you changed the variable $request to $req half way through your code:
Change these lines:
$files = public_path().'/company_photos/'.$req->input('company_photo1');
$file = $req->file('company_photo');
to:
$files = public_path().'/company_photos/'.$request->input('company_photo1');
$file = $request->file('company_photo');
Here is the code with a little refactor:
$filename = $request->input('company_photo1');
if ($request->hasFile('company_photo')) {
$files = public_path().'/company_photos/'.$fileName;
File::delete($files);
$file = $request->file('company_photo');
$file->move(public_path().'/company_photos/', $file->getClientOriginalName());
}
I am trying to save my image into database while creating my user and i am using postman for this
My Code:
public function register(Request $request) {
$body = $request->all();
$userProfile = $body['user_profile'];
$userPrev = $body['privileges'];
$userProfile['is_super_admin'] = $userPrev['is_super_admin'];
$facilities = $userPrev['facilities'];
$bodyObj = array_merge($userProfile, $userPrev);
$validator = UserValidations::validateUser($bodyObj);
if ($validator->fails()) {
return response([
'status' => false,
'message' => __('messages.validation_errors'),
'errors' => $validator->errors()->all()
], 200);
}
DB::beginTransaction();
try {
If (Input::hasFile('image')) {
$file = Input::file('image');
$destinationPath = public_path() . '/profile_images/';
$filename = $file->getClientOriginalName();
$file->move($destinationPath, $filename);
$this->user->where('id', Auth::user()->id)->update(['profile_pic' => $filename]);
}
My user is created and saved into database, but the image is not.
Your help will be highly appreciated!
I am really confused. You want to store image in database (bad Idea). Secondly, You want to store image in database but you are storing the file name only.
Suggetion : If you would like to store images in database you have an option to convert it into base64 and store the string. While retrieving you could decode base64. For example:
$file = Input::file('image');
$img_data = file_get_contents($file);
$base64 = $base64_encode($img_data);
$this->user->where('id', Auth::user()->id)->update(['profile_pic' => $base64 ]);
Another suggetion [Best way] : store path in the database and store the file in the storage or public and use the url to access the image
However if you still want to save it on database
$image = addslashes(file_get_contents(Input::file('image')));
$this->user->where('id', Auth::user()->id)->update(['profile_pic' => $image ]);
Please i want to change the default laravel configuration from storage/app/public to public/media on the server. In localhost it worked with storage:link but on the server it isn't working even after adding a symlink. Below is my symlink code.
<?php symlink('/home/cemo/cem/storage/app/public','/home/cemo/public_html');
Also if i return the public_path() from the store function i get /home/cemo/cem/public
this is the structure of my cpanel
below is my store function using image intervention
public function store(Request $request)
{
return public_path();
$this->validate($request,[
'title'=>'required|min:6',
'body'=>'required'
]);
if($request->hasFile('image')){
$img = $request->file('image');
$imgName = time().'-'.uniqid() . '.' . $img->getClientOriginalExtension();
}
else{
$imgName = 'default.jpg';
}
$posts = new post;
$posts->title = $request->title;
$posts->body = $request->body;
$posts->posted_by = $request->posted_by;
$posts->status = $request->status;
$posts->position = $request->position;
$posts->image = $imgName;
$posts->source = $request->source;
$posts->save();
$posts->tags()->sync($request->tags);
if(!empty($img)){
Image::make($img)->resize(1500,550)->save(public_path('/media/images/blog/'. $imgName));
}
$notification = array(
'message' => 'Successfully created',
'alert-type' => 'success'
);
return redirect(route('post.index'))->with($notification);
}
In config/filesystems.php
Change the array to:
'root' => 'public/media',
I have been playing with JWT Tokens lately, using Firebase\JWT and Satelizer.
I have been trying to integrate with laravel-angular project I have been working on.
Here is the sample code from Satelizers.io for facebook login: (https://github.com/sahat/satellizer/blob/master/examples/server/php/app/Http/Controllers/AuthController.php)
/**
* Login with Facebook.
*/
public function facebook(Request $request)
{
$client = new GuzzleHttp\Client();
$params = [
'code' => $request->input('code'),
'client_id' => $request->input('clientId'),
'redirect_uri' => $request->input('redirectUri'),
'client_secret' => Config::get('app.facebook_secret')
];
// Step 1. Exchange authorization code for access token.
$accessTokenResponse = $client->request('GET', 'https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/oauth/access_token', [
'query' => $params
]);
$accessToken = json_decode($accessTokenResponse->getBody(), true);
// Step 2. Retrieve profile information about the current user.
$fields = 'id,email,first_name,last_name,link,name';
$profileResponse = $client->request('GET', 'https://graph.facebook.com/v2.5/me', [
'query' => [
'access_token' => $accessToken['access_token'],
'fields' => $fields
]
]);
$profile = json_decode($profileResponse->getBody(), true);
// Step 3a. If user is already signed in then link accounts.
if ($request->header('Authorization'))
{
$user = User::where('facebook', '=', $profile['id']);
if ($user->first())
{
return response()->json(['message' => 'There is already a Facebook account that belongs to you'], 409);
}
$token = explode(' ', $request->header('Authorization'))[1];
$payload = (array) JWT::decode($token, Config::get('app.token_secret'), array('HS256')); // STUCK HERE
$user = User::find($payload['sub']);
$user->facebook = $profile['id'];
$user->email = $user->email ?: $profile['email'];
$user->displayName = $user->displayName ?: $profile['name'];
$user->save();
return response()->json(['token' => $this->createToken($user)]);
}
// Step 3b. Create a new user account or return an existing one.
else
{
$user = User::where('facebook', '=', $profile['id']);
if ($user->first())
{
return response()->json(['token' => $this->createToken($user->first())]);
}
$user = new User;
$user->facebook = $profile['id'];
$user->email = $profile['email'];
$user->displayName = $profile['name'];
$user->save();
return response()->json(['token' => $this->createToken($user)]);
}
}
I am able to get the Facebook profile inforamtion, but I keep getting stuck on this line:
$payload = (array) JWT::decode($token, Config::get('app.token_secret'), array('HS256')); // STUCK HERE
It is throwing a 'Wrong number of segments' error when trying to read the taken set by satelizer.
I have inspected the token and it does not follow the typical JWT format. (there are no 'dots' in the token)
Has anyone expereinced this before? How do I go about solving this issue?
Thanks,
Matt
