How can I overwrite method “__(”? - laravel

In laravel using location method __(, like :

I got text

in case if this label was not found
How can I overwrite method __( if i want to remove file name like in case above?
"laravel/framework": "^9.19",

You understand that this function is for the international translation of strings according to the current locale of the application.
Unless you provide specific translation then the string will be output exactly as provided.
https://laravel.com/docs/9.x/localization#retrieving-translation-strings
You can include placeholders in the string where values passed to the function will be inserted into the translated string.

Thymeleaf: Building variable names dynamically

I am trying to build the name of a var dynamically by concatenating the value of a variable and adding some string afterwards, as I add these variable in runtime. Something like the following should work but it does not.
th:text="${__#{myClass.getA().getB()}+'-result'__}"
Is this even possible to do? I dont know the name of the variable, I can only construct it like this unfortunately.
Yes, that is possible, Thymeleaf supports expression preprocessing:
Let's start with some examples:
The message(i18n) expressions should be referenced using the # character. So let's suppose you have the message.key in your translation file. To reference it in Thymeleaf you will have to use
th:text="#{message.key}"
In your scenario your key name is generated dynamically based on a variable so for preprocessing it in thymeleaf you need to use two underscores __
Let's suppose in your context you have a model variable called myModelVariable with a method messagePrefix(). Our example becomes:
th:text="#{__${myModelVariable.messagePrefix()}__}"
This means the myModelVariable.messagePrefix() will be processed first and the result will be used as the key name which will be then resolved to a nice user friendly message.
And if you also want to add a static part at the end of it will look like this:
th:text="#{__${myModelVariable.messagePrefix()}__}+'*'"
Even the key can contain a static part so this is also accepted:
th:text="#{__${myModelVariable.messagePrefix()}__.staticsuffix}+'*'"
More info you can find in the section 2.7 here:

I want to change language string value using controller. How generate localisation string files dynamically?

I have create files for english and german language statically in laravel rscources/lang/en and resources/lang/de folders. i want to change the string of particular lang key using my controller. how i can do ??
Example in resources/lang/en/custom.php
'my_key' => 'My key'
Example in blade:
__('custom.my_key')
or
#lang('custom.my_key')

jstl/jsp print name of file beutiful

I have my tag ${file.name} in a jsp file to display a name of file to download
name containt a full file name,include file extension. for example
testfile.png
a-file.zip
testfile-test505454654.png
a-filenum5468.docx
other_file_with_a_name_very_very_very_larrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrge.pdf
Files with very long names, crash my layout.
I think the way to format the file name to shorten it but include the extention. Maybe
testfile.png
a-file.zip
testfile-test505454....png *
a-filenum5468.docx
other_file_with_a_na....pdf *
How I can do?
in href no problem because it is done by id ${file.id}
If file is a POJO, you may add a getter-method to the POJO (something like String getShortName(){}) that returns a short version of the file name. And then use the method in your EL expression: ${file.shortName}.
I would write and register a custom tag that would take care of shortening the output to a maximum length
<custom:short value="${file.name}" var="shortFileName" />
The tag would take care of shortening based on defaults or values you specify in the element and putting it the result in a request attribute you can use anywhere after that declaration.
Since the requirements can be used many times so You should go with CUSTOM Tag solution like #Sotirios Delimanolis suggested.
JSTL function ( Like c:fn ) is another solution. Using jstl function get better performance than Custom tag ( simple / classic model )

how to pass parameters to joomla module loaded from article

I had previously added Joomla modules from within Joomla articles this way : {loadmodule mod_name} but this time I need to pass parameters from it.
How can I pass parameters from within the article to a Joomla module?
You'll need to modify or clone the Joomla plugin loadmodule because it doesn't handle parameters other than just a module name. It's not particularly difficult to do if you're proficient in PHP (assuming you don't mind getting your hands dirty with a little bit of Regex work) but I'd suggest cloning it and using it this way:
Copy folder \plugins\content\loadmodule to \plugins\content\Myloadmodule (and all it's files)
Within the new folder, rename loadmodule.php and loadmodule.xml to myloadmodule.php and myloadmodule.xml. These are the files you'll do all the work on.
In both files, replace occurrences of loadmodule with myloadmodule, (Case sensitive)
In myloadmodule.php, start at around line 36 with the Regex that strips out what is in the {loadposition xxx} being processed. You'll need to tinker with this Regex to get the parameters that you want to supply when using {myloadmoduel blah-blah-blah} in your article.
Find the database entry in your table '_extensions' for loadposition and create and identical record for myloadposition. (Unless you want to write and installer)
Finally, you'll need to render the modules with your new parameters - I can't begin to help there because I don't know what modules, or parameter work you'll be doing, but this renderModule documentation will be of assistance.
7.
I think I've covered it all, but this should be enough to get most of it done for you. When you're done, use {myloadposition ...} instead of {loadposition ...}.
I will give more details about the previous answer, to be able to pass parameters to a module with a tag as {loadmodule mod_name,param}
The solution given by GDP works fine: it's easy and quick to rewrite a content plugin (e.g. myloadmodule), following the steps 1 to 5 in the previous answer.
The problem, for me, comes with the steps 6: how to put parameters into the module, and ohow to retrieve de parameters within the module.
Step 7 : how to give parameters to the "render" of a module
In the plugin created (base on the loadmodule), you have to find the lines with the following code :
echo $renderer->render($module, $params);
Before this line, you can put parameters into the $params parameter, but "render" of the module retrieves only params with the key 'params', using a json format.
So, to pass parameters to the render function, you can do something like that :
$param = array('param_name' => 'value'); // param_name = value
$params = array('params' => json_encode($param)); // 'params' (String) should be decoded by the render of the module
echo $renderer->render($module, $params);
Step 8 : How to retrieve the parameter within the module
In the helper of your module, you can retrieve the parameter with $params variable :
$value = $params->get('param_name');
To understand a helper, read this tutorial : http://docs.joomla.org/J3.3:Creating_a_simple_module/Developing_a_Basic_Module
I googled the same issue and found your question. I know its old but my find may help someone else. There are now plugins that allow embedding modules and allowing you to pass parameters to it. My choice is Module Plant.

Magento: how do I access custom variables in PHP?

I am aware of 'Custom Variables' and how they can be used with {{ }} brackets in email templates as well as in static blocks.
However, I want to use them in template code i.e. view.phtml.
I want to be able to access 'variable plain value' to retrieve a conversion value, i.e. a number/string as number for a given 'variable code'.
Been doing this for some time to create various messages that are editable through the admin interface so I don't have to go code digging when the flavor of the moment changes.
To access the plain value of the custom variable with code custom_variable_code use this:
Mage::getModel('core/variable')->loadByCode('custom_variable_code')->getValue('plain');
NOTE: Single store doesn't show the store select dropdown for the variable scope. This answer is not technically correct, in order to future-proof yourself in case of having multiple stores --> Please see #Mark van der Sanden answer below and give him an upvote.
Unfortunately, all other answers are not 100% correct. Use it like this (note the setStoreId() to get the value for the correct store view):
$value = Mage::getModel('core/variable')
->setStoreId(Mage::app()->getStore()->getId())
->loadByCode('variable_code')
->getValue('text');
Or to get the html value:
$value = Mage::getModel('core/variable')
->setStoreId(Mage::app()->getStore()->getId())
->loadByCode('variable_code')
->getValue('html');
If no html value is defined, getValue() returns the text value if you request the html value.
Stackoverflow almost to the rescue again. Thought this would be it:
Setting a global variable in Magento, the GUI way?
But it wasn't, this was:
$angle = Mage::getModel('core/variable')->loadByCode('angle')->getData('store_plain_value');
The only way I see you can acheive this by having a method in the templates block, that will output the needed result.
For instance say in the template view.phtml you have the following code:
<div id="title_container">
<h2><?= $this->getTitle(); ?></h2>
</div>
The function can represent your variable code and any logic that has to do with what gets displayed in the title should be placed in the block.
Just for clarification sake the block is the variable $this
If you are unsure what is the actual class name of your block you can do something like:
Mage::log(get_class($this));
in the var/log/system.log you will print the class of the block of that template.
That is the best way.
HTH :)
// To get the TEXT value of the custom variable:
Mage::getModel('core/variable')->setStoreId(Mage::app()->getStore()->getId())->loadByCode('custom_variable_code')->getValue('text');
// To get the HTML value of the custom variable:
Mage::getModel('core/variable')->setStoreId(Mage::app()->getStore()->getId())->loadByCode('custom_variable_code')->getValue('html');
// The store id is set as Custom Variables can be edited for multiple stores
Note: A custom variable might have different values for different stores.
So to access store specific value for the custom variable with the code custom_variable_code
Use this:
$storeId = Mage::app()->getStore()->getId();
$custom_variable_text = Mage::getModel('core/variable')->setStoreId($storeId)
->loadByCode('custom_variable_code')
->getValue('text');
$custom_variable_plain_value = Mage::getModel('core/variable')->setStoreId($storeId)
->loadByCode('custom_variable_code')
->getValue('plain');
$custom_variable_html_value = Mage::getModel('core/variable')->setStoreId($storeId)
->loadByCode('custom_variable_code')
->getValue('html');
