I have a problem in creating multi select drop down using Laravel 4.2.
My multi select looks as below
{{Form::label('district_id','District')}}
<?php $data=array(''=>'Select');?>
{{Form::select('district_id[]',$data,'',array('id'=>'district_id','multipart'=>t
rue))}}
I populate the options using jQuery ajax. I do get the drop down values exactly as I want. But I am not able to make the drop down as multi select drop down.
If everything is working properly, instead of doing
'multipart' => true
replace with
'multiple' => true
Your final code
{{ Form::select('district_id[]', $data, null, array('id' => 'district_id', 'multiple' => true)) }}
The data will be in the form of array, so in your controller you have to use foreach
foreach(Input::get('district_id') as $district_id)
{
echo $district_id.'<br>';
}
I think below code is useful for you for Multi Select DropDown
$userList = array('L' => 'Large', 'S' => 'Small');
{{Form::select('district_id[]', [null=>Lang::get('messages.select')]+$userList ,'L', array( 'multiple'=>"multiple")) }}

In my admin.php, I have a table and one of the columns is Status which gives only 2 options, Open or Close.
The below is in my admin.php
array(
'name' => 'complete',
'header'=>'Status',
'value' => '($data->complete == 0) ? Yii::t(\'app\', \'Open\') : Yii::t(\'app\', \'Close\')',
'filter' => array('0' => Yii::t('app', 'Open'), '1' => Yii::t('app', 'Close')),
),
I want it to show only the Open condition instead of everything. What can I add into the code?
If you want to show by default only the rows that are still open (not completed), you can simply go to the controller in the admin action and add:
$model->complete=0;
That should be placed just after defining the model and before assigning attributes from $_GET, so it can be overwritten if user choses other option.
I have a general question.
I have a search form in larvel which returns results form the database.
in these i have an input field to enter a price if price is == 0
what my problem is when i enter price and submit it returns to the search page without my previous search results i.e it doesn't refresh the same page with results and the newly updated field etc.
form in view
{{ Form::open(['action' => 'price_input'])->with($gyms) }}
{{ Form::text('enter_price', null, ['class' => 'form-control', 'size' => '50', 'id' => 'enter_price', 'autocomplete' => 'on', 'runat' => 'server', 'required' => 'required', 'placeholder' => 'enter price!', 'style' => 'margin-bottom: 0px!important;']) }}
{{ Form::submit('Search', ['class' => 'btn btn- primary', 'style' => 'margin-left: 10px;']) }}
{{ Form::close() }}
route
Route::post('/', [ //not used yet
'as' => 'price_input',
'uses' => 'PagesController#priceUpdate'
]);
Model
public function priceUpdate($gyms)
{
if (Input::has('enter_price'))
{
$price = Input::get('enter_price');
Gym::updatePrice($price);
return Redirect::back()->withInput();
}
Session::get('gyms');
return Redirect::to('pages.home') ->with('gyms', $gym);
}
not bothering with model as that works fine.
any ideas guys?
Thanks for your answer,
i have changed my controller to this
public function priceUpdate($gyms)
{
if (Input::has('enter_price'))
{
$price = Input::get('enter_price');
Gym::updatePrice($price);
$gyms = Session::get('gyms');
return Redirect::to('pages.home') ->with('gyms', $gyms);
}
$gyms = Session::get('gyms');
return Redirect::to('pages.home') ->with('gyms', $gyms);
}
but when i run it i get
Missing argument 1 for PagesController::priceUpdate()
with the $gyms being passed into the method.
if i take out the $gyms that goes away but not sure if its still being passed with session or not, sorry im a novice.
orignally i had a search box which when run returns
return View::make('pages.home')->with($data);
what is the difference between that and
return View::make('pages.home')->with($data);
when i do the above line it returns to the search page with no search options from before update the form, any ideas?
Currently, you are just retrieving an existing session and doing nothing with it. You need to do:
$gyms = Session::get('gyms');
return Redirect::to('pages.home') ->with('gyms', $gyms);
Or
return Redirect::to('pages.home')->with('gyms', Session::get('gyms'));
Then you can access the gyms in the view with $gyms.
Alternatively, you could access Session::get('gyms') in the view as well.
Also, not sure if it's just the way you pasted it here, but you have an unnecessary space before the ->with. Just wanted to make sure that's not part of the issue, too!
I have created one custom module with add associated products concept. Created successfully. And Its working well.
But when i add "Multi select attribute" column in product grid with that option values, That entity value not saved.
If i removed that option values from that brand attribute drop down, Its saving fine.
I have shown my code below what i did for add multi select attribute column in product grid
under _prepareColumns() method
$attribute = Mage::getModel('eav/config')->getAttribute('catalog_product', 'brand'); // attribute code here
foreach ( $attribute->getSource()->getAllOptions(true, true) as $option)
{
if($option['value'] != '')
$valArr[$option['value']] = $option['label'];
}
$this->addColumn('brand', array(
'header'=> Mage::helper('catalog')->__('Brand'),
'align' => 'left',
'index' => 'brand',
'type' => 'options',
'options' => $valArr,
'renderer' => 'Mage_Adminhtml_Block_Catalog_Product_Renderer_Brands', // Will have to create the renderer.
'filter_condition_callback' => array($this, '_filterBrandCondition')
));
When i hide 'options' => $valArr, , All are working fine.
I can't able to understand, why its happening. Please suggest me your ideas. Thanks in advance.
Have you already created the _filterBrandCondition function ?
What Mage_Adminhtml_Block_Catalog_Product_Renderer_Brands look like ?
I am using Yii dropdown with active records in that I am using a multiselect dropdown. I am creating data with in which I am selected multiple options from the dropdown. While updating I want to disable selected options which I selected at time of creation.
<code>
<?php
$savedSections = helpers::getQuestionnaireSectionList($model->questionnaire_id);
$data = helpers::getSection();
$listData = CHtml::listData($data, 'section_id', 'section_name');
$htmlOptions = array('size' => '5', 'multiple' => 'true','style'=>'width: 333px');
$queSection->section_ref_id = $savedSections; #sec2
echo $form->listBox($queSection,'section_ref_id',$listData, $htmlOptions); #sec1
?>
<code>
Now here #sec1 is showing output with multiple options and I am also getting selected options but I want to disable all the selected options which are coming from #sec2
Please help me if you have any ideas.
change your $htmlOptions to be like this:
$htmlOptions = array(
'size' => '5',
'multiple' => 'true',
'options'=>array(45=>array('disabled'=>'disabled')),
);
45 here is a section_id
and if you want to find out how it's implemented you can take a look a this

Does anyone know how to properly insert new content categories to the DB programatically?
For each post in the categories table, there is also a post saved in the assets table with lft and rgt set.
Is there any native Joomla class I can use for this instead of plain SQL?
Please Please Only use the native classes, which categories will handle for you seamlessly. As soon as you add categories the whole thing will be handled automagically. Just look at any core component to see how.
It is not easy to update the assets table using sql, it is all very specifically managed and part of a complex series of foreign keyed tables.
Extend JTable or JTableContent to handle this.
Here is some code I just whipped together that just uses the JTableCategory class, so it can be used simply on the front or admin side of Joomla
$table = JTable::getInstance('category');
$data = array();
// name the category
$data['title'] = $title;
// set the parent category for the new category
$data['parent_id'] = $parent_id;
// set what extension the category is for
$data['extension'] = $extension;
// Set the category to be published by default
$data['published'] = 1;
// setLocation uses the parent_id and updates the nesting columns correctly
$table->setLocation($data['parent_id'], 'last-child');
// push our data into the table object
$table->bind($data);
// some data checks including setting the alias based on the name
if ($table->check()) {
// and store it!
$table->store();
// Success
} else {
// Error
}
Naturally you would want to get the data pieces set correctly, but these are the core ones to set.
Here is a function I've created just for this purpose, after some digging & experimenting.
It uses core classes, so it needs an access to them (for me it's basically a part of Joomla component).
Mind, it's for Joomla 3, for Joomla 2.5 and before, you need to change JModelLegacy to JModel.
function createCategory( $name, $parent_id, $note )
{
JTable::addIncludePath( JPATH_ADMINISTRATOR . '/components/com_categories/tables' );
$cat_model = JModelLegacy::getInstance( 'Category', 'CategoriesModel' );
$data = array (
'id' => 0,
'parent_id' => $parent_id,
'extension' => 'com_content',
'title' => $name,
'alias' => '',
'note' => $note,
'description' => '',
'published' => '1',
'access' => '1',
'metadesc' => '',
'metakey' => '',
'created_user_id' => '0',
'language' => '*',
'rules' => array(
'core.create' => array(),
'core.delete' => array(),
'core.edit' => array(),
'core.edit.state' => array(),
'core.edit.own' => array(),
),
'params' => array(
'category_layout' => '',
'image' => '',
),
'metadata' => array(
'author' => '',
'robots' => '',
),
);
if( !$cat_model->save( $data ) )
{
return NULL;
}
$categories = JCategories::getInstance( 'Content' );
$subcategory = $categories->get( $cat_model->getState( "category.id" ) );
return $subcategory;
}
You can perhaps use the save() in category.php file.
File location: root\administrator\components\com_categories\models\category.php
It saves the form data supplied to it!
The JOS_assets table is to store the ACL for each asset that is created.
If you do not update this table while programatically creating the category, the default ACL will apply. And when later you open and save the category in the administrative panel, the ACL will be updated as it should have been by core Joomla!.
You can create an SQL query very easily though and update the asset table as well. Its easy to understand once you open the table's content in phpmyadmin.
