I hardly got in touch with the Oracle PLSQL Cartridge so far, and where I did, I found an Apache web server in place. I wonder whether it is possible to host the cartridge on a Microsoft IIS instead as well. Google wasn't really promising, so just to make sure... Feel free to say NO!!. If you happen to say yes, so much the better! :-)
Does the Thoth Gateway fit the bill ?

We are trying to connect oracle db from loadrunner. Could you please help us in providing these details. we wanted the script to get the data from oracle DB before starting the execution. In our testing we are used different application and protocols used Web http/html, Tuxedo and CRM aplls.
You are headed down a path which will cause you harm. Build your data files ahead of time and include them with the scripts. I could tell you how to solve your problem technically, but doing so would the the technical equivalent of instructing you how to use a gun to rob a bank, ultimately a bad set of advice. Your question also exposes a lack of critical skills in client side architecture and communications. This gap will not serve you well as a performance tester.
I am exploring how best to access a PostgreSQL/PostGIS DB from NodeJS. All I need is simple SQL SELECT queries. Nothing more complex than:
SELECT *
FROM portal.catalog AS cat
WHERE ST_Intersects(st_geogfromtext('SRID=4326;POLYGON((20 50 ,19 50,19 49,20 50 ))'), cat.gpoly)
LIMIT 5000;
This will be on a windows7 or windows2008 server, running PostgreSQL 9.2/PostGIS 2.0, The traffic will be pretty light (only a few requests per minute).
Some preliminary research I have done has come up with the following potential directions. But I was interested in hearing from others what is working for them (as an easy implementation).
https://github.com/brianc/node-postgres (But I am having trouble building it do to firewall issues), Supposed the "pure" solution is better, but I am having issues there also) https://github.com/brianc/node-postgres-pure
http://www.infoq.com/articles/the_edge_of_net_and_node (And then I guess I would write my own ADO.NET adapter to PostgreSQL)
I have also seen references to ODBC for NodeJS (unclear if this is the way to go)
Is there something like the SQL adapter for NodeJS? http://blogs.msdn.com/b/sqlphp/archive/2012/06/08/introducing-the-microsoft-driver-for-node-js-for-sql-server.aspx
There was also a full blown ORM by EntitySpaces (which went bankrupt). Now a defunct opensource project: https://github.com/EntitySpaces/entityspaces.js
I've used node-postgres in the past, but recently opted for any-db, which has support for PostgreSQL.
Both have worked well, although I prefer any-db, particularly with respect to pooling and transactions. I believe any-db deserves more recognition.
Any-db is layered on top of BrianC's node-postgres.
But I just got the https://github.com/brianc/node-postgres-pure working, and it is a pleasure.
EntitySpaces is the way to go, not defunct at all.

I got BrianC's PostgresPure system working (must have been a dependent module malfunctioning, since I did not do anything special.
Works just great.

I'm writing a C# Applications Solution v11.2 using eXpressApp Framework from DevExpress and the first thing I would like to do is make the 2 apps (web & win) connect to an Oracle Database without using the Oracle Client.
In my other projects I have used DevArt's dotConnect tool, which is great by the way (works without needing any Oracle Client installed).
I wonder if someone has tried this, 'cuz I just can't get it work. From what I read from the forums, I think that eXpress Framework doesn't recognize dotConnect's OracleConnection, or that I have to write my own XPO provider.. ?!
Please help!
Thanks!
One of the approaches to accomplishing this task is to create a custom XPO connection provider. This class will be a descendant of one of the standard connection providers listed in the Database Systems Supported by XPO help topic. I believe the following KB article should helps.
I work in an enterprise designing, creating and maintening custom applications on the base of ESRI ArcGIS. Some customers use Direct Connect, to connect to databases stored on Oracle or MS SQLServer. I have a problem with a standalone application for several months now.
I have an application, written in Delphi. One of the first things I do, of course, is opening the workspace.
pWorkspaceFactory:= CoSdeWorkspaceFactory.Create as IWorkspaceFactory;
pWorkspaceFactory.OpenFromFile('D:\directconnect.sde', WndHandle, pWorkspace);
This works fine for all "normal" connects, in some cases of direct connect it works fine too. But it may happen that I get on a different database a stackoverflow when calling OpenFromFile. Raising the MaxStackSize in the project options of the delphi project made it work on some Direct Connect databases. But it doesn't work for all.
Does anybody know the correct way to handle Direct Connects in standalone applications, without ArcMap? Accessing the databases in ArcMap has never been a problem, I think ArcMap has a special handling for Direct Connects.
Thanks for all ideas and replies. May the answer be with you ;-)
Greetings

Thank you for your comment. I can't post more details about the exception at the moment, because I can't reproduce it on my testdatabases. It's only out in the wild the exception occurs. But I can say that it happens in a (for me) closed ESRI-Dll, i cannot see the call stack of the dlls methods (OpenFromFile is an ESRI-Method in an ESRI-Dll). I would like to post such things, but I can't.
Could it have something to do with the DC library you are using? There are separate libraries for each version of ArcGIS and each flavor of database.
I'm looking for someone reasonably cheap but better than the majority of budget hosts out there. I'm currently with brinkster.net and I've become increasingly annoyed at the their immense unreliability and low available resources.
Fasthosts business plan is close, but has no mysql, only has ASP.NET 2.0 and is maybe slightly more expensive than I was hoping for.
I have had several sites hosted on http://discountasp.net and have had very good results. They are on year 4 of being voted best ASP.NET host in the asp.netPRO reader's choice survey.
I have had great luck with Viux.com - their customer service is top-notch and they were quick to implement asp.net 3.5. I moved all my sites (5) to Viux now and couldn't be happier. Very reliable and I can't say enough about their super fast and friendly service! MySQL comes free with all of their plans and MSSQL is $2/month.
I have tried quite a few hosts, and these guys are my favorite. If you decide on another, just make sure it is not M6.net, their customer service was just horrendous!
GoDaddy supports .NET 3.5 and mysql on their basic hosting packages.
We've used GoDaddy at my primary employment (day job :-) for several years and have had a positive experience with them (I also recently switched my home business from Yahoo! Small Business to GoDaddy).
Regarding reliability, I haven't had any problems with downtime. As a result, I have no first hand tech support experience with GoDaddy, but from what I read on the boards their tech support is pretty good (comparable to any other tech support I guess). They offer LINUX and Windows hosting (if that matters to you), MySQL and MSSQL database support, and .NET 3.5/AJAX.
And the price was reasonable, as far as I'm concerned.
I've been with these guys for quite a bit,

Cheap and cheerful.
Something that might interest you -- ScottGu's latest blog post mentions Amazon's EC2 is going to support ASP.NET.
http://aws.typepad.com/aws/2008/10/coming-soon-ama.html
Depending on what you plan on doing, that could be of interest. It's usually pretty cheap, as well.
Dreamhost supports stackoverflow's podcast
http://www.dreamhost.com/
Edit: It looks like they don't support ASP.NET though, that was unexpected.
Take a look at ReliableSite.Net
It is cheap and good. They even throw a free MS SQL 2005 database(1 GB- Extra DB costs $1) what other places charge $10/Month and give you less then 500MB of space.
So you can upgrade to mssql 2005(not sure if you where just using mysql because it is cheaper).
If you don't want to bother changing to mssql 2005 then you can save it for another project(you can host unlimited domains on Reliable) and use the mysql database that they also throw in for free.
I find Reliable does not nickle and dim you for every single thing and gives reasonable prices and have great coupons.
Like this coupon for 15% off for life: "aspforum"
Planet Small Business http://www.planetsmb.com/ are pretty cheap, and have excellent customer service.
The only hassle I've had with them is over hosting WCF services. I wasn't able to host it as a native ASP.Net service, you have to do a bit of extra plumbing to manually add a service host, but nothing impossible, and their customer support was there ready and waiting.
Highly recommended.
I Use SmarterAsp.net to host Multiple Sites ; they have good control panel and their Price start fro $2.95/Month you can also get 60 days free trial so you can decide if it's suitable for you
