I'm pretty new to Visual Studio (2005). I have a textbox which must display 2 different strings based on another textbox field.
Example
Textbox 1 = "Education"
Textbox 2 Needs to be "Date"
but if
Textbox 1 = "Language"
Textbox 2 needs to be "Knowledge"
I have trying some Iif functions, but I can't get it right. How can I fix this?
in the change event of the OTHER textbox you can change the text. or use a business layer and databinding.

I have a question similar to this one:
How do you populate an SSRS TextBox with a DataSet value?
I'm on old release 2012 R1 and designing report in Visual Studio 2010 shell.
I want user to enter a specific order number, and thus the query will return just one row. I want to show the fields down the page (better for viewing/printing), instead of across the page like the normal table does (especially if I have so many fields that they don't fit on the width of one screen).
Example:
Don't I just bind the textbox to a database field on the properties using DataElementName. That's what I didn't understand about the post I referenced above.
I think I figured it out. I clicked Action then was able to select the database field from a list. After that, I also noticed I can right click, then click "Expressions", and the following screen appears:
I am developing a "Dashboard Report" in SSRS Visual Studio 2010. I Am trying to put 8 charts graphs at the same location. Each chart must open from each textbox I assigned a toggle. Each chart has the visibility as Hidden and display by textbox name.
Now I am trying to make a validation which determine that only one chart must show at the time. Because when I try to see an individual chart always I have to close which was open before.
I have created a parameter to assign an InitialToggleState Expression, but I haven't succeed.
I will appreciated any good suggestion step by step. Thanks
Have you considered using a Hidden parameter to control which chart is open? By defining one you can use the textboxes to control an identifier for which chart you wish to display.
Method
First define a Hidden Pameter by creating a new parameter and setting the visibility to ‘Hidden’. I have created one called OpenChart
Create your charts (you have probably already done this by the looks of things. Set each charts visibility to be equivalent to
=iif(Parameters!OpenChart.Value = 1, false, true)
Changing the value ‘1’ to a unique number for each chart
Create your control buttons, possibly using text boxes. Create as many buttons as there are charts to disaply (you’ve probably done this already too). For each button Set the action to be a reloading of this report, using the same existing parameters, but with the OpenCahrt Parameter set to the chart identifier set in 2. Above
The report now looks like this (for 3 buttons)
Result
When the report is run and the ‘One’ textbox is clicked the output looks like this
And for 'Two' like this
And so on...
You don’t have to put the charts side by side of course, they can be layered on top of each other. I only laid them out like this for clarity.
Hopefully this will help save you from trying to validate all the charts are closed before the next one is open, because only one can be open at a time.
Please let me know if you need further clarification
IS this possible to have check boxes in crm 2015 page (not through web resource) , I tried to implement couples of solution with js but did not work out. Any comments would be useful.
You can add checkboxes by creating fields of type two options. Then, add them to an entity form and in the field properties window, change the format to "checkbox".
Check this out: https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/dynamics/crm-customer-center/create-or-edit-entity-fields.aspx
Possible data types for a field
Two options
After creating this field, configure it in the form to which it was added. In the form, select whether the field is displayed as option buttons (also known as radio buttons), a check box, or a list.
Cheers.
In the Dynamics CRM entity form editor:
Click New Field button on the extreme down-right corner
Provide Name to the field
Set data type as Two options
Save the record
Drag this newly added field into the form from the right side field list
Click Change Properties in the menu bar
In the pop-up click the Formatting tab
Select Two radio buttons / Check box / List in the Control formatting section
Click OK
In BIRT, the report parameters window that pops up for user input ,I am taking two radio buttons. For the first radio button ,I am giving 'ALL' to select all office codes.
For the second radio button , I want to add a text box where the user can give one particular office code as input.
I would like to know how to add a text box against a radio button.
Thank you in advance.
I believe it is possible to do as you ask, but it would require creating a custom parameter. This is an easier solution for what I imagine is what you are trying to do.
The easier solution use a single text box in your parameter, set the default value to "All" and SQL code in your query similar to this.
where CONTCTSM1.OPERATOR_ID = ?
or
('All' = ?
and
CONTCTSM1.ACTIVE = 'f' )
With this code if a specific value is given it returns results for that one parameter. If the Value is left as All, then it returns all values where CONTCTSM1.ACTIVE = 'f'
In my MVC 3 project, I have certain radio button representing certain amounts and I want a radio button to represent Custom Amount. Next to the radio button will be a textbox to retrieve the custom amount.
At the moment I have this:
Custom Amount #Html.RadioButton("InvoiceAmount", "115" , true) #Html.TextBox("InvoiceAmount")
But then obviously the InvoiceAmount is set to 115, so how would I put the textbox's value in place of that 115?
Thanks
You could just put the textbox and check to see if it has a value when your form is submitted. Then you would not need a "radio button" for custom amount.
I may not be entirely sure of your intent here though.
If you are using strongly typed view and view models (which is what I would recommend you):
#Html.RadioButton("InvoiceAmount", Model.InvoiceAmount, true)
if not:
#Html.RadioButton("InvoiceAmount", ViewData["InvoiceAmount"] ?? "0", true)
Also notice that having two input elements with the same name (InvoiceAmount) inside your form is wrong.
