exception occured on applying advisitor on single smooks instance - freemarker

need a advice from any one.
if you look at the below code,every time I am creating the new object for smooks as ftlname dynamically get populated.
try {
Smooks smooks1 = new Smooks("smooks-config.xml");
if (ftlName != null) {
inputStream = new ByteArrayInputStream(xmlMessage.toString()
.getBytes());
outStream = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
smooks1.addVisitor(new FreeMarkerTemplateProcessor(
new TemplatingConfiguration(ftlName)));
smooks1.filterSource(new StreamSource(inputStream),
new StreamResult(outStream));
resultString = outStream.toString();
inputStream.close();
outStream.close();
}
} catch (Exception ee) { }
this is really hitting the performance as every time creating a smooks object, when I have try to use the single smooks instance, getting below error.
java.lang.UnsupportedOperationException: Unsupported call to Smooks instance configuration method after Smooks instance has created an ExecutionContext.
at org.milyn.Smooks.assertIsConfigurable(Smooks.java:588) [milyn-smooks-all-1.5.1.jar:]
at org.milyn.Smooks.addVisitor(Smooks.java:262) [milyn-smooks-all-1.5.1.jar:]
at org.milyn.Smooks.addVisitor(Smooks.java:241) [milyn-smooks-all-1.5.1.jar:]
can you please provide your advice on it.
smooks version :- 1.5.1

My guess (unverified) is that you can't configure the Smooks instance with an XML file (in the constructor) and then proceed to add more Visitor impls via addVisitor().
Is there a reason you're not configuring the freemarker template in the smooks config?

Can't generate jasper report on spring

I am trying to generate a PDF file using JasperReports, however, regardless of how I try it, it's giving me a NullPointerException.
https://community.jaspersoft.com/questions/520803/getting-null-pointer-exception-fillreport
Tried looking there, and changed the jasper properties file, but it didn't do anything and i'm still getting the same error.
Tried absolute paths, relative paths, getting resource as stream, nothing
This is the code i'm using to generate the report
public String generateInvoiceFor (Reservation reservation) throws JRException {
JasperReport jasperReport = JasperCompileManager.compileReport("I:\\anoranzaHopefullyFinal\\src\\main\\resources\\jasper\\FacturaFinalFinal.jrxml");
List<Reservation> reservations = reservationService.getAll();
JRBeanCollectionDataSource jrBeanCollectionDataSource = new JRBeanCollectionDataSource(reservations);
Map<String,Object> parameters = new HashMap<>();
parameters.put("Idparam", reservation.getId());
JasperPrint jasperPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(jasperReport, parameters, jrBeanCollectionDataSource);
JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdfFile(jasperPrint, "jasper/jasperOutput/Factura.pdf");
return "Report successfully generated #path= jasper/jasperOutput/";
}
Check your datasource and jasperPrint. If there is no problem try this.
JRPdfExporter exporter = new JRPdfExporter();
exporter.setExporterInput(new SimpleExporterInput(jasperPrint));
exporter.setExporterOutput(
new SimpleOutputStreamExporterOutput("PDF NAME IS HERE.pdf"));
SimplePdfReportConfiguration reportConfig
= new SimplePdfReportConfiguration();
reportConfig.setSizePageToContent(true);
reportConfig.setForceLineBreakPolicy(false);
SimplePdfExporterConfiguration exportConfig
= new SimplePdfExporterConfiguration();
exportConfig.setMetadataAuthor("Auth name is here");
exportConfig.setEncrypted(true);
exportConfig.setAllowedPermissionsHint("PRINTING");
exporter.setConfiguration(reportConfig);
exporter.setConfiguration(exportConfig);
exporter.exportReport();

How do I replace an existing Community file on IBM SmartCloud

I am trying to replace an existing Community file using the following java
Map<String, String> paramsMap = new HashMap<String, String>();
paramsMap.put("createVersion", "false");
fileEntry = fileService.updateCommunityFile(fis, fileUuid, fileName, communityLibraryId, paramsMap);
But it is returning a HTTP 411:Length required error.
I am using the latest build (1.1.5.20150520-1200.jar)
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what i am missing?
I tried recreating the issue but I am able to upload New version of Community file correctly with and without version, using the updateCommunityFile API. I do not get any Length related error. This is the snippet I am using :
java.io.File file = new java.io.File("C://TestUploadCommunity.txt");
FileInputStream fis = null;
try {
fis = new FileInputStream(file);
} catch (Exception e) {
//TODO
}
fileEntry = fileService.updateCommunityFile(fis, fileEntry.getFileId(), fileEntry.getLabel(), communityLibraryId, params);
Can you share more details on your sample, what exactly is your fis?
I have tried this on 2 environments and I do not see any issue.
Also, from the entry you have pasted,
"Request to url apps.na.collabserv.com/files/basic/api/library... /document/... /entry?content-length=6600&createVersion=false returned an error response 411:Length Required HTTP/1.1 411"
It seems that somehow an incorrect content-length is passed for your request.
Can you share the sample that you are using?

GWT Spring Jasper Reports

I have an application built in GWT and Spring. I am trying to generate Jasper Reports on the server side. However when I execute the functionality, it hangs/stops at jasperDesign = JRXmlLoader.load(file_name); and does not respond or throw an exception. This means that my RPC call that triggers the report generation function does not return a response either (so the application hangs). However when I run the function in a normal java application it generates a report without any problem. What could be the issue? I am using JasperReports version 5.6.0. My java function:
public StandardServerResponse printReport(List<Object> items) {
StandardServerResponse response = new StandardServerResponse();
String file_name = null;
Map<String, Object> parameters;
JasperDesign jasperDesign;
JasperReport jasperReport;
JasperPrint jasperPrint;
try {
for (Object obj: items) {
parameters = new HashMap<String, Object>();
parameters.put("id_in", obj.getId());
file_name = "G:\\myreport.jrxml";
jasperDesign = JRXmlLoader.load(file_name); //application stops here
jasperReport = JasperCompileManager.compileReport(jasperDesign);
jasperPrint = JasperFillManager.fillReport(jasperReport, parameters, dataSource.getConnection());
JasperExportManager.exportReportToPdfFile(jasperPrint, "G:\\report.pdf");
}
response.setSuccess(true);
} catch (Exception ex) {
ex.printStackTrace();
response.setSuccess(false);
}
return response;
}
I finally solved my problem after many long days of debugging :-).
I had these two jars in my WEB-INF/lib folder.
jasperreports-functions-5.6.0-SNAPSHOT.jar
jasperreports-fonts-5.6.0.jar
I removed them and the app worked. I still don't understand why they would cause a problem though.
I also changed my code to work with a .jasper extension and directly called JasperRunManager.runReportToPdfFile(file_name, "S:\\output_report.pdf", parameters, connection);
Thanks a lot Darshan Lila for trying, I really appreciate. Hope this helps someone.

How to create SubCommunities using the Social Business Toolkit Java API?

In the SDK Javadoc, the Community class does not have a "setParentCommunity" method but the CommunityList class does have a getSubCommunities method so there must be a programmatic way to set a parent Community's Uuid on new Community creation. The REST API mentions a "rel="http://www.ibm.com/xmlns/prod/sn/parentcommunity" element". While looking for clues I check an existing Subcommunity's XmlDataHandler's nodes and found a link element. I tried getting the XmlDataHandler for a newly-created Community and adding a link node with href, rel and type nodes similar to those in the existing Community but when trying to update or re-save the Community I got a bad request error. Actually even when I tried calling dataHandler.setData(n) where n was set as Node n=dataHandler.getData(); without any changes, then calling updateCommunity or save I got the same error, so it appears that manipulating the dataHandler XML is not valid.
What is the recommended way to specify a parent Community when creating a new Community so that it is created as a SubCommunity ?
The correct way to create a sub-community programatically is to modify the POST request body for community creation - here is the link to the Connections 45 infocenter - http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/appdevwiki.nsf/xpDocViewer.xsp?lookupName=IBM+Connections+4.5+API+Documentation#action=openDocument&res_title=Creating_subcommunities_programmatically_ic45&content=pdcontent
We do not have support in the SBT SDK to do this using CommunityService APIs. We need to use low level Java APIs using Endpoint and ClientService classes to directly call the REST APIs with the appropriate request body.
I'd go ahead and extend the class CommunityService
then go ahead and add CommunityService
https://github.com/OpenNTF/SocialSDK/blob/master/src/eclipse/plugins/com.ibm.sbt.core/src/com/ibm/sbt/services/client/connections/communities/CommunityService.java
Line 605
public String createCommunity(Community community) throws CommunityServiceException {
if (null == community){
throw new CommunityServiceException(null, Messages.NullCommunityObjectException);
}
try {
Object communityPayload;
try {
communityPayload = community.constructCreateRequestBody();
} catch (TransformerException e) {
throw new CommunityServiceException(e, Messages.CreateCommunityPayloadException);
}
String communityPostUrl = resolveCommunityUrl(CommunityEntity.COMMUNITIES.getCommunityEntityType(),CommunityType.MY.getCommunityType());
Response requestData = createData(communityPostUrl, null, communityPayload,ClientService.FORMAT_CONNECTIONS_OUTPUT);
community.clearFieldsMap();
return extractCommunityIdFromHeaders(requestData);
} catch (ClientServicesException e) {
throw new CommunityServiceException(e, Messages.CreateCommunityException);
} catch (IOException e) {
throw new CommunityServiceException(e, Messages.CreateCommunityException);
}
}
You'll want to change your communityPostUrl to match...
https://greenhouse.lotus.com/communities/service/atom/community/subcommunities?communityUuid=2fba29fd-adfa-4d28-98cc-05cab12a7c43
and where the Uuid here is the parent uuid.
I followed #PaulBastide 's recommendation and created a SubCommunityService class, currently only containing a method for creation. It wraps the CommunityService rather than subclassing it, since I found that preferrable. Here's the code in case you want to reuse it:
public class SubCommunityService {
private final CommunityService communityService;
public SubCommunityService(CommunityService communityService) {
this.communityService = communityService;
}
public Community createCommunity(Community community, String superCommunityId) throws ClientServicesException {
Object constructCreateRequestBody = community.constructCreateRequestBody();
ClientService clientService = communityService.getEndpoint().getClientService();
String entityType = CommunityEntity.COMMUNITY.getCommunityEntityType();
Map<String, String> params = new HashMap<>();
params.put("communityUuid", superCommunityId);
String postUrl = communityService.resolveCommunityUrl(entityType,
CommunityType.SUBCOMMUNITIES.getCommunityType(), params);
String newCommunityUrl = (String) clientService.post(postUrl, null, constructCreateRequestBody,
ClientService.FORMAT_CONNECTIONS_OUTPUT);
String communityId = newCommunityUrl.substring(newCommunityUrl.indexOf("communityUuid=")
+ "communityUuid=".length());
community.setCommunityUuid(communityId);
return community;
}
}

How do I access a file inside an OSGi bundle?

I am new to OSGi and created an OSGi-bundle which I run in the Apache Felix OSGi-container.
There is a file resource contained in the bundle, which I need to pass to a method as a java.io.File. To instantiate a File-object, either an URI in the "file"-scheme or the path as string is necessary. How do I retrieve any of those in a clean way?
I tried using the
context.getBundle().getResource("/myfile") (where context is of type org.osgi.framework.BundleContext) which returns the URI bundle://6.0:0/myfile.
But this URI can't be converted to a File-instance using the File(URI uri) constructor since it has the "bundle"-scheme.
One could try to construct a path to the location knowing the working directory and exploiting the bundleId of my bundle, but I doubt this is the best practice.
Any ideas?
Since the file is inside your bundle, there is no way for you to get to it using a standard File. The URL you get from Bundle.getResource() is the correct way to get to these resources, since the OSGi APIs are intended to also work on systems without an actual file system. I would always try to stick to the OSGi API instead of using framework-specific solutions.
So, if you have control over the method, I would update it to take a URL, or maybe even an InputStream (since you probably just want to read from it). For convenience, you can always provide a helper method that does take a File.
If you don't have control over the method, you will have to write some helper method that takes the URL, streams it out to a file (for instance, File.createTempFile() will probably do the trick.
Maybe the API is confusable, but You can access a file inside an OSGI bundle like this:
URL url = context.getBundle().getResource("com/my/weager/impl/test.txt");
// The url maybe like this: bundle://2.0:2/com/my/weager/impl/test.txt
// But this url is not a real file path :(, you could't use it as a file.
// This url should be handled by the specific URLHandlersBundleStreamHandler,
// you can look up details in BundleRevisionImpl.createURL(int port, String path)
System.out.println(url.toString());
BufferedReader br =new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(url.openConnection().getInputStream()));
while(br.ready()){
System.out.println(br.readLine());
}
br.close();
getResource will find the resource through the whole OSGI container just like OSGI classloader theory.
getEntry will find the resource from local bundle. and the return url could be convert to file but inputStream.
Here is a question same with this: No access to Bundle Resource/File (OSGi)
Hope this helping you.
What I use is getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream():
InputStream inStream = new java.io.BufferedInputStream(this.getClass().getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(fileName));
This way the file will be loaded from your resource dir. FileName should contain the path after "src/main/resources".
Full example here:
static public byte[] readFileAsBytes(Class c, String fileName) throws IOException {
InputStream inStream = new java.io.BufferedInputStream(c.getClassLoader().getResourceAsStream(fileName));
ByteArrayOutputStream out = new ByteArrayOutputStream();
int nbytes = 0;
byte[] buffer = new byte[100000];
try {
while ((nbytes = inStream.read(buffer)) != -1) {
out.write(buffer, 0, nbytes);
}
return out.toByteArray();
} finally {
if (inStream != null) {
inStream.close();
}
if (out != null) {
out.close();
}
}
}
