Does Apple reject apps build with Xcode 5? (13.10.2014) - xcode

I have to update an app build with Xcode 5 for iOS 7.
Unfortunately, there's not enough time and money to migrate it to iOS 8 by now.
Will Apple reject the app, when i'm trying to publish it to the AppStore?
Thank you!

If you mean Xcode 5.1.1, no they will not reject those apps. You can submit using Xcode 5.1.1 or higher. It says that in the binary section of iTunes Connect. I have used Xcode 5.1.1 to submit multiple apps. I archived in Xcode 6 then validated and submitted with Xcode 5.1.1 since validation/submission has been very buggy for me in Xcode 6.

In answer to your question, we submitted an application update built with xCode 5 recently, and it went through just fine.
Apple have previously sent an announcement to developers giving advance notice of any change in the minimum required xCode version.
On 13th Jan 2014, they announced that apps had to be built with xCode 5 and iOS 7 ready as of 1st Feb 2014. We can assume that they will follow a similar schedule for iOS 8 - if they actually fix all the bugs in it...

Show documentation window crashes XCode 12

Just showing the Documentation Window crashes XCode 12 (cmd-shit-0) - anytime I do it.
Does anybody have the same problem, an explanation or a work around ?
Update: There's now a new version (12.0.1) in the App Store that fixes this issue.
I'm experiencing the same when using the version from the App Store. People in this Apple Forums thread are reporting that it doesn't occur with the GM download from Apple's developer resources, despite the build identifiers being exactly the same.
Anecdotally, I can confirm that I was able to use documentation in the GM version before I deleted it in favor of the App Store version. So this may in fact be a viable workaround until the App Store version is fixed.
The Xcode on the app store is some sort of unknown version, (Since there it release even before the GM version available). So get rid of it and Download The Xcode From The developer.apple.com or click the proper version below. Then it. will work like a charm.
This needs you. to login to your account
Don't forget to remove the appstore version downloaded Xcode
Direct Download
Xcode 12
Xcode 12.2 Beta
I use xcode 12 beta 5 works well can open document window, when I upgrade to GM seed, it can not open document window any more. When I fallback to xcode 12 beta ,open document it crash every time. All these happened on mbp13 pro, but my another mbp 15 with the same macos version works very well.
I guess it have something with macOS system, not xcode version.
Now I upgrade xcode by AppStore ,crash all the same.

Do I need Xcode 7 and Swift 2.0 to update my app

I have an UI issue in my Swift 1 (Xcode 6, iOS 7.1) app on devices running iOS9. I've tried to convert my app to Xcode 7 and Swift 2.0 but I'm running in a lot of issues here.
To give my customers a quick fix until I've figured out whats wrong I was wondering if I can download and install Xcode 6 (the version I build and uploaded the app last time) correct the UI issue (I know what to do) and upload the app again.
In a nutshell: Will Apple deny an app update with an old Xcode/Swift version?
The “Submit Your Apps” page currently (as of 2015-09-23) says
If your app still depends on Xcode 6, you'll need to keep a partition or external hard drive with OS X Yosemite installed in order to submit from Xcode 6.
This clearly implies that you can still submit apps with Xcode 6 (and therefore with the iOS 8 SDK).

Can Xcode 6 GM & Xcode 5.1.1 coexist? (I know the beta could but this app name is the same)

I tried to specify in the title so people didn't think i was a dullard, I've used every version of Xcode 6 Beta alongside Xcode 5.1.1, but as I have only one dev machine I don't want to install Xcode 6 if it will overwrite Xcode 5 entirely.
I also realize I can download/reinstall Xcode 5 but I'm swamped at work and can't afford 30 minutes of downtime even, thanks for the help all!
Foolishly I let App Store update Xcode 5.1 and it upgraded me to 6.
Renamed /Applications/Xcode to Xcode 6
Downloaded Xcode 5.1 from https://developer.apple.com/downloads/index.action?name=Xcode%205
Installed Xcode 5 from the DMG into /Applications
Start Xcode 5, rebuild my project and ran my app on my iOS 6.1 device OK.
Downloaded iOS6.1 Simulator (Prefences>Downloads)
Ran my app in the iOS6.1 Simulator OK.
Started Xcode 6, rebuild my project for my iOS6.1 device - reported signing error.
In Xcode 6, rebuild my project for iPhone 4s 7.1 - could not boot simulator
Conclusion:
I got Xcode 5 back doing what I needed but will need to do more work to play with Xcode 6.
So that people don't need to read comments to find the accepted answer:
Yes, MANY versions of Xcode can exist at the same time, in order to prevent overwriting find Xcode in the Finder (CMD+Clicking is one quick method) and rename (simply hit the return key while the app is highlighted) as you see fit. On my machine I have Xcode 5.1.1, Xcode 6.1 and usually whatever Beta Apple has available if I'm having any issues with an app.

Issue with Xcode 4.1 & iOS 5

So basically i have upgraded to iOS5 and xcode 4.2 but after a little playing around i found out you can't submit apps to the app store with it (even if the apps are set to 4.3 or lower)
So i reinstalled xcode 4.1 (xcode did some back up thing so i still have 4.2) and started work on application building and such like. Submitted application to app store / testing on device everything running fine.
But suddenly (well just now) xcode has said:
The version of iOS does not match any of the versions
of iOS supported for development with this installation of the iOS
SDK. Please restore the device to a version of the OS listed below, or
update to the latest version of the iOS SDK; which is available here.
So i can no longer test apps on my device, nor can downgrade my iPod says apple...
but what im sooo confused about is that it was all working a few hours ago.
Why can't i do it now?
Anyone know a fix?
Thank you.
Eli
Apple has apparently told testers of iOS 5 that any devices updated to that beta cannot be downgraded back to iOS 4. They will only be able to further upgrade their device and eventually install the final iOS 5 release. From Apple:
Devices updated to iOS 5 beta can not be restored to earlier versions
of iOS. Devices will be able to upgrade to future beta releases and
the final iOS 5 software.
However, I've also seen this post: http://www.jailbreakmovies.com/2011/06/08/how-to-downgrade-ios-5-back-to-ios-4-3-3-tutorial-video/ which claims to be able to restore iOS 4.3 to a device. I haven't tried it, but if you're feeling adventurous and/or desperate, you might give it a go.

XCode 3.2.6 forcing iPad as Active Executable for simulator

Have exactly the same issue as here. But it's solution does not work for me! I connected both iPhone and iPad devices, but still after changing Device to Simulator or cleaning while Simulator is selected XCode selects iPad Simulator's Active Executable. Which is very strange since my project is iPhone only (Target Device Family = iPhone).
I've experienced same problem Xcode 3.2.6 version released on 10 March (the same day as XCode 4 was released). But then somehow problem gone (may be after I've connected a device?).
Few days ago when Xcode 4.0.1 was released, I've found that XCode 3.2.6 was updated too on ADC (image posted on 25 Mar). So I've downloaded it, compared image to "old" XCode 3.2.6 image from 10 Mar, found differences and installed it.
This is likely a bug in Xcode 3.2.6 that's fixed in 4.x. If it's that annoying to you, it's probably worth switching to Xcode 4.
Besides, Xcode 4 is the future (like it or not) and Xcode 3 is not likely to get any more enhancements.
