I work on a site which switches to https when the user inputs personal details. When it does this, the browser displays:
This site can’t be reached
localhost unexpectedly closed the connection.
Obviously, the details are becoming encrypted and can't be displayed.
In the docs they suggested using the https address as a parameter to start the browsersync proxy server. However, this did not make any difference.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have this site at heroku that I am trying to ping. It says
Ping request could not find host https://doc-hero.herokuapp.com/. Please check the name and try again.
even though I can still open the site on a browser. I thought it was an issue with heroku so I hosted it again on pythonanywhere but it still won't ping.
I'm sure there is a simple explanation for this but I tried Google and still no luck.
Is there a way I can get it to ping?
You might be wondering why I want it to do that when I can still browse to it. Well, it's because I need it to be visible to Open AI so that it can access some documents over there.
remove https:// prefix. ping is a different protocol and requires DNS only not protocol prefix.
heroku server still will probably not answer ping request as it is not required to.
I have recently got an SSL certificate on my website, on the apache server that I am using to host my website. The website says "Secure" and also works fine when I run it over localhost using the laptops ip address 192.168.*.**. But when I try to port forward this website over the port 443, it somehow says unsecure and your connection is not private. Any help here will be appreciated.
It sounds like you are using a self-signed certificate for your https connection. While modern browsers such as chrome give you errors saying the connection is unsecure and perhaps you even see red lines crossing out the https at the beginning of your url, there is no need to worry. If you are getting your page to render with these characteristics all is working, the reason for the errors is because the certificate is signed only for you.
In a real world production scenario you would have to use a third party service for a public capable certificate. However for your own development purposes, as long as the page runs with https there all is working as it is intended to.

My code works perfectly on localhost but when I get it uploaded to my Debian VPS server it will not fire. However a cURL -H -origin request works perfectly... I've tried everything PLEASE HELP!! lol
Here is my Firefox-Firebug error:::
Cross-Origin Request Blocked: The Same Origin Policy disallows reading the remote resource at http://localhost:10005/threadpreview. (Reason: CORS request failed).
This is really a HUGE problem for me. I've tried just about EVERY Access-Control-Allow-Headers/Methods/Origin combination possible. Truly at a loss. I've also tried all the preflight requests. It shouldn't need one but I've still tried to no avail.
Could it be server security? I am working off of a VPS Debian Squeeze server.... Their firewall maybe?
This is my portfolio I need to get online so I can get myself employed.... sigh! Please help and thanks!!
When you are accessing your webpage on a remote server you can't use local host.
You want to make the request against your vps IP address. Or domain name if you have it.
Calling local host on a browser client is going to request resources from the client computer as opposed to your server
I am learning JMeterProxy using WAMP and opencart web app.I did a recording using HTTP Proxy Server. I configured firefox and recording went smoothly. But if i am using IE, nothing seems to be recorded. I added a tree view listener in HTTP Proxy to log the recording, nothing is logged in it when i am using IE.
Some observations:
when i stop recording and if i try to access the local site using FF, it is not accessible, but in case of IE i could open the site.
If i browse an external site, recording is working.
I am accessing my site as http://localhost:81/opencart/index.php, since 80 port is used by IIS
My question is.
How would i trouble shoot this kind of scenario.
What changes i should i make in IE proxy settings.
I solved this problem, Here is the solution, as per JMeter documentation
If JMeter does not record browser URLs such as http://localhost/ or
"http://127.0.0.1/", try using the non-loopback hostname or IP address,
e.g. http://myhost/ or "http://192.168.0.2/"
So providing the host name in place of loop back address solved the problem
I made a proxy server, and I'm testing it using a client name Proxifier.
I made the first part with autentication to work, but i don't know what to do next.
I called Connect() an the address received from the client, but that is from a webpage.
So i need to connect to the webpage? What next then? I can't browse the net with the proxy on.
So i hope someone could help me an what to do next.Thanks.
to test a proxy server is simple as these.
In your browser, configure the proxy settings to the ip:port of your proxy server, in these case if you are testing on local machine, your ip is 127.0.0.1 and you are listening on port 80.
browse a webpage mostly google with the browser and see if it loads properly, if it does, then you proxy server is working
